My usual routine after some housework and breakfast with bus to Bicester for a hour or two .
The TV aerial as still yet to be sorted although reported to the organisation who own where I live as to not being able to get BBC channels .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from bristols. The days are getting shorter, the sun has barely woken up!
It was a lot cooler yesterday, and the night much more tolerable.
Today, I’m off the Bath to spend the day with 14 yo DGD. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it. I agree with taichnan, that one’s descendants are the cleverest, most beautiful, etc.,etc., in the world!
Hope urms and co., are having a glorious time. Trust that ash is getting through her difficulties. Big hugs to both.
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, it is feeling fresher, nicer, today

A quiet slothful day yesterday, designed to keep me cool. I have been getting on with hand sewing, I am not finished yet but the result is looking very good. I have to take my specs off and have a bright readers light to see what I am doing

Dentist today, an hour by car to get there and I am hoping there will be no painful injection today. Back to late lunch, followed by watching born and bred, this is my go-to relaxation time

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where it is extremely hot still.

I had a wonderful day with the boys yesterday, bless them they were as good as gold, no strong feelings at all and seemed glad to have Nana back looking after them. They give me so much more than they will ever know.

DGD started high school yesterday! I can’t believe how quickly she has grown up. I miss her so much but am glad she seems happy.

Today I’m dithering as I need to clean the floors but also want to go and buy a couple more plants. It’s so unbearably hot out that I don’t usually go out in it too much but I will see how I feel.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from a rainy, cool Cornwall. gM I think my mint must be the one in this photo. When I bought it it was simply labelled White Mint. I have many types of mint, most of them at my allotment and this one overwhelms the others if I let it.

Today a jaunt sonewhere on a bus, Porthleven maybe. Later my eldest son is coming to help sort some paperwork and no doubt we'll talk about his latest adventures underground. 😁

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and dry. Karma I hope the dentist appointment goes well. GrandMattie enjoy your time with your dgd.
Yesterday the boys and I had a good day. It started with a brief thunderstorm and heavy rain which curtailed our plans a bit. We did get out for a walk and some puddle splashing and then into the garden. Dgs2 has discovered I have freckles. He thought they were sore bits but I reassured him. He calls them heckles. I made chicken fajitas for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have enough left for tonight.
Today is the last day of the holidays so it'll be the dreaded soft play this morning. Then the garden this afternoon. Dgs1 has crunched through all the peas and carrots straight from the pots. Next year I'll have to plant many more. Have a good day all

Morning from a pleasantly cooler S Hants, yesterday was quite oppressive by late afternoon.
The phone line reached a crescendo yesterday by 5pm, I’ve got some finishing off to do today, we came third at quiz in the evening.
Floor washing today and bathroom cleaning this morning, a walk later on.
Lovely picture Bellasnanana
Have a smashing day with your granddaughter gMattie

Good morning all it was a dreadfully warm night hear on the east coast of Fife.

Yesterday I had a good day, went to the local n bakery resteraunt famous for its chocolate eclairs and other such cakes where I met up with my cousin for a hot buttered tea cake, it was delicious we had lots of catching up to do. And promised to meet up sooner again.

When I arrived home again I made a bolognaise sauce and had far too much spaghetti and bolognaise sauce for my evening meal that I was full of wind if you know what I mean . Luckily no one was down win pd of me. I’ll need to eat the rest of the bolognaise tonight but I’ll be careful not to a greasy guts.

Have a good day my friends , look out for any.more thunder and lightning and stay safe.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. There’s some blue sky peeping through the cloud. Yesterday morning was unbearably muggy, I really thought we were in for another storm but it broke eventually, bringing a gorgeous warm afternoon.

I went out walking after eleven last night hoping to spot some of the meteor shower or perhaps a glimpse of the aurora but sadly there wasn’t even a hint of any activity.

Beautiful boys Bellasnana.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning everyone 🙋‍♀️

We have DD’s boys today, as it’s meant to be dry and 27° I imagine there will be lots of splashing and swimming.

Hopefully get bed changed before they arrive.

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️🌞

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. High cloud and sun this South Yorkshire morning. Going to be warm. Yesterday wasn’t too bad; we had a rain shower in the morning and then it was overcast for most of the day with a cooling breeze. I ran my water butt down quite a lot getting water to my plants last night. Next time it might have to be the hose. The gardener came and gave me a quote for cutting two hedges. Three figures but not as much as I thought. It’s a mighty lot of work.
Not sure what is happening today; Son in law is popping round to pick up some guinea pig stuff he forgot to take at the weekend, and I may have to go out and buy a new mouse for my laptop as the present one appears to have died.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from mid Essex, it’s another lovely sunny morning with a pleasant breeze. I had a good sleep, despite the temperature in the bedroom being 28 degrees!
I did clean the bathroom yesterday but otherwise it was a quiet day indoors.
I’ll have a walk this morning and maybe do some ironing, then another day indoors doing very little. I’ll see my friend with dementia later.
Have a good time with your DGD grandmattie. Enjoy the last day of the holidays grandmabatty even if it’s the dreaded soft play!
Hope it’s a good day for everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, another fine day forecast.

All went well at the dentist yesterday, nothing needed attention, but he did give my teeth a clean. Another appointment made for 6 months. I then went to the bakery coffee shop for a cappuccino while I waited for the next bus.
Had a very lazy afternoon indoors, reading and nodding off!

Shall not do a lot this morning, just some washing to hang out, then an early lunch, then think about joining my walking group, which I won't if it's too hot.
It's very quiet in our close this week as the three neighbours nearest me are all away on holiday - they have picked a good week!

Very envious of you grandMattie, I love Bath, and it's not far from my childhood home; it was always a good day out.

Chill out and try to stay cool everyone!

Grammaretto Tue 13-Aug-24 07:29:09

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cloudy but warm.

Yesterday turned out warm. I walked along the river to visit my df who lives about a mile along. We had a good catch up.

Today after the chiropractor, I am doing an extra shift at the community store and I have the dentist this afternoon. Day filled!

Have a lovely time with DGD gMattie. Those twins look really cute Bellasnanna 😍

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Sonning on the bank of the Thames.
What a day we had getting here yesterday. Six locks and only one had a lock keeper, so a steep learning curve for me, how to use a self service lock.
Plus one lock had broken down and we, and a few other boats, were stranded for over two hours. It was so hot. We were finally glad to arrive here eight hours after we set off.
Friends of ours were here too so we had a nice evening drinking and chatting before a good night's sleep.
Today we cannot go as far as we would like as one lock is shut all day for maintenance work.
Although this has been an adventure I will be glad to get home.
Have the best day you can everyone xx

RosesandLilac Tue 13-Aug-24 07:44:06

Good morning from sunny south Glos, another warm day today.
What lovely DGCs Bellasnana
I spent yesterday morning doing more needlework, I really am enjoying it. I
DH helped emptying my tomato plants into the compost bins, they’ve been a complete failure this year so I won’t be growing them again. My cucumber plant has two cucumbers so at least that’s a little more successful.
Today I must do some housework 🙄
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after yesterday's thunderstorms very welcome.
No plans as yet for today will go with the flow and see where the day takes me.
Have a lovely time in Bath grandMattie. And a lovely photo of the twins Bellasnanna
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 13-Aug-24 07:47:44

Morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. I thought there was supposed to be rain!

Younger son arrived for a few days yesterday. It is his 39th birthday today and we’re going out for lunch. He is very good company and regales us with tales of his job as a Senior Policy Advisor in Westminster. It sounds just like The Thick of It without the swearing!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk where we shall,as yesterday, stay cool indoors although I’m meeting a friend for coffee later and then a pedicure this afternoon.

We were relieved to hear DGD2 arrived safely home to Bristol yesterday from the Boardmasters festival in Newquay….her first time on holiday without adults! She will be 17 next month and is a sensible girl but I always worry about the influence on youngsters from others around them. There were apparently 50,000 from age 16 present.

We were reassured that 2 of the parents taking some of the group from school were staying locally in a hotel in Newquay and so were on hand if need be. Luckily apart from bringing them back to Bristol yesterday, all the needed to do was host the girls to a yummy dinner and hot showers in their hotel one evening.

Hope you have a lovely day in Bath GrandMattie. We often visit when we are with DD1 and family in Bristol and enjoy Sally Lunn buns in the tea shop there. There is a wonderful bookshop… Mr B’s emporium where we have bought book subscriptions for the DGC in the past. A wonderful selection of book and very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Hope today is a good one for all.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 13-Aug-24 08:04:06

Sar53 pleased you are enjoying your adventure, despite the holdups 😘
