Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dry but with a grey looking sky over brackley at the moment .
Today , the usual bus trip to Bicester do a small shop and maybe see friends returning home to watch the Vuelta cycle race on TV this afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. The promised red skies haven’t materialised yet - due to fires in the Americas. Did you see the “blue”, supermoon? There is so much light pollution here, plus being built up, the skies are no longer much in evidence.

I’ve got the British Heart Foundation collecting redundant furniture today. It could be at any time this afternoon - so restrictive. I’ve got a garden chair to clean up and use in my hall.

I hope you’ve had a good weekend and look forward to your forthcoming week.

Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick from a dry and cool north Wales coast where I’m all exited - I’m off later to the land of La Vuelta 🚵‍♂️ to mi Casa! They’re passing close to us in Antequera so might trot along for that!

Good to see Ash posting again and wondering where Susan from near Shrewsbury is?

Will catch up with all your bizzinesses tomorrow once I’ve caught up with myself IYSWIM! 🤦‍♀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. Daylight is just dawning. That'll help make your home feel more spacious GrandMattie.
Yesterday I did some pottering around the house and the garden. I cleared out a kitchen cupboard which had sugars, flour, spices etc. some were out of date despite my best efforts in stock control. It got a good clean too. I pulled up all the redundant pea plants so I'll have to think about what will go in them over winter. I visited mum in the afternoon but didn't stay long because she wanted to sleep.
Today is early childcare day. I'll drop off dgs1 at school then take dgs2 to playgroup. Two whole hours to myself! Later Dsil will pick up dgs1 and take him to football, then dd will pick up dgs2 on her way home. Dinner will be the remains of the toad in the hole from yesterday. Have a good day all

Pantglas have a lovely time. I've missed Susan too.

Good morning from s somerset, a mixed bag of weather today, cooler with rain later

I need to pull some dwarf bean plants, I picked the last bean yesterday and they are very nice. Once I clear that 1 sq m bed, I will cover it for winter, in december I will put compost on the soil and re-cover for the worms to come in. I have 4 of these beds and had a tremendous amount of different veg

I have veg juice to make this morning, enough for today and three more days. A bit more sewing as I have dismantled the andes coat I made, I am repeating but with an altered pattern. It is very pleasurable to sew, now that I have done the tricky pockets

Craft group later today

Have a good day

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset.

Pleased with yesterdays under bed emptying, a bag of rubbish along with two for the charity shop means far less to go back. There was a lot of ‘why on earth did we ever have that/keep that’. Hospital session for me this morning then we’ll carry on gently with room preparation this afternoon.

Safe travels and have a wonderful time pantglas. Hope the furniture collection is prompt grandmattie and Monday is kind to us all.

Good from Malta where the high is going to be 34°C today, humidity 77% , so sticky again.

I sat up until after 2 am watching tennis so am feeling sluggish this morning. I will soon get up and get on with some jobs around the house but I’m not really in the mood so it’s going to be an effort!

Safe travels Pantglas, hope you have a lovely break.😎

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s bright but only 10 degrees. Another disturbed night due to arthritic hip, must contact doctor regarding a referral for a replacement hip.
A surprise visit from Dd1 and family after Dgd3’s birthday party, bringing cake! I was really pleased to see them, they lead such busy lives.
I’m going into town this morning as I have a package to collect from John Lewis and need a few things from Lakeland.
pantglas have a lovely break in Spain.
I hope today is kind to everyone.

RosesandLilac Mon 19-Aug-24 06:54:22

Good morning, grey skies here in south Glos too.
Nothing much going on here, but I’m enjoying hearing about DS’s family holiday in Austria. They’re glamping on a mountainside with spectacular views.
I will enjoy just doing whatever I like today 😊

Marydoll Mon 19-Aug-24 06:55:48

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is also 11°C.

After another pain filled night, I have decided to do nothing today. I envy those, who are able to have a decent night's sleep.

I mentioned Susan the other day. I was going to message her, but can't for the life of me remember, her user name. She had serious health conditions, I hope she is OK.
Also, hoping Litterpicker pops in to let us know how she is.

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

Good morning all from a dull overcast day here on the east coast of Fife. I’ve had an odd sort of week what with getting the injection for those over 75 to avoid any chest infections followed my 2 nurses coming in to take my blood for an annual stroke recovery review .

Then I twisted my back and I’ve had the most excruciating back pain resulting in having to take painkillers every 4 hrs. I’ll be staying at home for another couple of days hoping to recover soon as I’ll be off to Sicily on the 7th September.

Have a good day my friends keep safe

Bonnybanko Mon 19-Aug-24 06:58:38

By not my duh

Gingster Mon 19-Aug-24 07:01:29

Good morning and it’s a bit overcast here in Essex.
We are off to our Suffolk bolthole today and hopefully see the super moon, as we have no light pollution up there.

Yesterday was a lovely family day celebrating dgd2’s 18th birthday. The temperature was perfect, sunny but not too hot. Lots of food and Pimms.

Enjoy your holiday Pantglas safe and trouble free journey. ✈️.

Take care all 🌸

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We had a lovely day yesterday with elder son and granddaughter. We showed her, from a distance, where OH’s hives are. Then we drove to a small copse where she helped gather some tree bark from the ground for OH’s smoker. Finally we went to a nearby Folly which is open occasionally. She enjoyed going to the top of a fairly tall tower. When we got back home she insisted on taking everyone’s dinner order (which I cooked) and plating up everyone’s meal before serving it. Not bad for an 8-year old.

Her mum is back from London today. The new bathroom is finished but the decorators are in today.

I have a Waitrose shop, our cleaner is in this morning and OH has U3A croquet after lunch.

Have a good day.

Good morning from a dull, overcast Torbay.

I have a few hours to myself this morning before my DS, GF and DGS3 visit me. They are staying with my ex locally for a few days. I’ve booked lunch at The Babbacombe Inn which will no doubt be as busy as ever because the food is reasonably priced and the service is good.

Yesterday's worship service at the theatre was inspiring and I was impressed by the warm welcome besides the amount of organisation that had gone into setting it up, including a music group, drama and a thought provoking sermon, all helped by the PA system and visual support.

I hope today is the start of a good week for everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grammaretto Mon 19-Aug-24 07:04:53

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cool but dry.
U3A walk today. I hope I can keep up.

Yesterday we had a big scare when DGD was lost for at least 20mins on the Meadows, the big green space in Edinburgh, which was packed like a beach. She had run ahead to the swing park and was oblivious. The views were obscured by festival billboards. Such a chastened wee girl when she was found and what relief!

I hope Litterpicker is recovering well.
Enjoy your time in Spain pantglas

Have a good day and week everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 19-Aug-24 07:05:18

Good morning all from a dull Black country and weather not set to improve, looks like it will be a day for housework.
Pantglas have a lovely time.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Mizuna Mon 19-Aug-24 07:09:35

Good morning from a fresh, rainy Cornwall. Unexpected time with my youngest son in Wetherspoons yesterday. I had a Ramen noodle bowl, delicious. A guy I was at school with 60 years ago came over and said how delighted he was to see me walking properly again because 'You've suffered for a long time.' I was touched.

In the morning I watched my daughter on a church YouTube, singing My Forever Friend. The wonders of the internet. It was amazing to see her after all this time and all our interrupted attempts to visit each other. I'd forgotten what a beautiful contralto voice she has.

Today I'm tackling a dispute I have with a fuel company who have treated me despicably. My sons have said they'll step in if it becomes tricky, yippee.

brook2704 Mon 19-Aug-24 07:31:59

Good morning from Inverness where it’s dull and grey looking, it feel much cooler too
What a relief grammaretto it’s so scary when that happens but thankfully all ok
Enjoy your trip away Pantglas and safe travels. We’re away later too, an overnight in Glasgow and then an early flight to Menorca in the morning. DH and I are just looking forward to a relaxing week together enjoying each other’s company after a very busy summer.
Hoping Susan56 is doing ok
Good luck with sorting the dispute mizuna
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning from South Lanarkshire, have been up for some time because I have an early appointment and have slept through my alarm several times recently. My poor hearing is currently worsened by a perforated eardrum caused by an infection. I should have started on antibiotics on Friday but by close of play on Saturday the prescription hadn’t reached the chemist and I am now rather anxious in case they’re still not there this morning. Our surgery is really unreliable now and my ear is very uncomfortable.
I have just cancelled DD’s alarm call so that’s one thing less for her to do!

Book club first then yoga unless I’m camping at the surgery.

Hope you’ve recovered after your travelling, sewing and childminding *baubles’, I take my hat off to you!

Good wishes to Litterpicker and hope everyone has a decent day.
