Good Morning Everyone,

My usual routine as getting on the bus to Bicester ,shop and hopefully see others I know.
Have lunch watch the Tour of Spain cycle race on TV ,and do household work in between .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol.
Anyone see the blue supermoon last night. I can’t due to excessive lighting around the complex.
Lost all my novella. Not going to repeat it!
Hope everyone has a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, cooler but sunny all day today

DD has managed to get 121 small bales of horse hay indoors, manually snatched off the field by herself on sunday, 3 acres, not a farm. Makes me realise the stress that farmers are under, trying to get harvest in and stored. Her first-ever hay and she is euphoric

I did a bit of garden prep for winter yesterday, it is decidedly autumnal here now.

Today is pottering, I do have a bedroom to bottom and will give the en suite a once-over, neither will take me long. Then relaxing sewing, I want to finish my cosy showerproof hooded coat, I was wishing it was ready yesterday for my walk down to crafts

Have a good day

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.

Bad luck regarding your lost words, grandMattie. At least you’re not lost for words! No special moon spotted here due to cloud and rain, sadly.

My day with DS and his GF, plus DGS3 went well but I had to forego the Model Village visit due to my grumpy knee which began making its horrid grinding noise as soon as I attempted to negotiate the sloping path at the beginning. I was happy to sit in the café and the kind member of staff who sold the tickets refunded mine without being asked which was kind. Any Devon residents can have 25% off the entry price for the whole party if proof of local address is provided which is a worthwhile deal.

I hope Pantglas2 and brook2704 enjoy their holidays and a good day is had by all.

Morning everyone 🙋‍♀️

I have had a very little sleep, no idea what the weather is doing 🤷‍♀️

The Imp and 9 yr old are here again today, we haven’t any plans, will go with the flow…

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and looks like rain is likely. Karma I wouldn't like to be a farmer. Our country would fall apart without them.
Yesterday was a good day with dgs2. He was in a happy mood all day, apart from when I had to wake him from his nap to pick up his brother from school. He really enjoyed being back at playgroup and produced two masterpieces, one for me and one for mummy. Mine is adorning the fridge. He never stopped talking all day. Even the playgroup ladies commented on him chatting. I was in bed early but slept well, for me.
Today will be more of the same, minus playgroup. We might go to a park, if the rain keeps off. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a bright Cornwall with sun promised. Yesterday I caught a train to the county's music library where I spent a peaceful morning surrounded by piano music. The photo looks boring but it was bliss for me. Only brought three books home - they're heavy - but will order several others to be delivered to my library. Superb service.

Today I'm seeing my doctor to discuss medication, plus she wants to check how my knee replacement went. After that coffee in Wetherspoons and a walk on one of our beaches.

grandMattie Tue 20-Aug-24 06:32:05

I’m so sorry about your knee, Ash. Hope it stops grumping soon. Old age isn’t for sissies, is it?

Bonnybanko Tue 20-Aug-24 06:33:54

Good morning from a damp overcast start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
I had the most enjoyable few hrs yesterday when family visited, unfortunately they all left far too soon but not before I had a slice of the red velvet cake. 👍👍👍👍 I even got the grass cut once again by my lovely carer who doesn’t mind one little bit. He’s so good to me

Today I’m going to phone my GP, somehow I turned and twisted my back and it’s so very sore . I can’t take anything stronger than paracetamol, last time I did that I was prescribed diazepan which relaxed my back muscles , fingers crossed I can get that again as I’m flying in a few weeks time and hoping my back has recovered by then .

Have a good day and stay safe ❤️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a bright South Yorkshire. No moon last night, sadly, it was raining. I had planned to go out yesterday but it was blowing very hard here and I hate the wind, especially as part of the walk I had planned is wooded. As it happened my nephew called in the afternoon to talk about his elder brother whose mobility is deteriorating due to rheumatoid arthritis. Their mother was crippled by it and M, who lives alone, is going the same way.
Today I’m meeting a friend at a nearby garden centre for coffee, which will be very pleasant.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Malta where it is going to be a windy day with a high of 30°C. It’s getting a bit more bearable.

Inspired by Grandmabatty, I tackled my kitchen cupboards (at last) yesterday. What a job. I am ashamed to admit how much I had to throw out due to it being years past its BBF date plus a lot of weevil-infested pasta.

I sat up until after 2 am again to watch the men’s final from Cincinnati. The time difference does make for some late nights but I have nothing to get up for so it doesn’t matter.

No plans today but hope to see the boys at some point. They are back at nursery after a week off.

Sorry your knee is giving you trouble Ash, it must be miserable for you.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Ashcombe Tue 20-Aug-24 06:46:34

grandMattie

I’m so sorry about your knee, Ash. Hope it stops grumping soon. Old age isn’t for sissies, is it?

Thanks, grandMattie. It’s osteoarthritis which has already led to the need for resurfaced and replaced hips and a swollen ring finger joint, causing me to have my wedding ring cut off a few months ago. I’m booked for a steroid injection in the troublesome knee next week on the recommendation of the physiotherapist.

Never mind, others on here have more serious conditions to tolerate. 🥰

GrannyGravy13 Tue 20-Aug-24 06:56:15

Ashcombe I hope the steroid injection works for you.

Weather update, it’s grey and rather bleak, more like a winter morning than August…

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 20-Aug-24 07:04:30

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Elder son and family are going out for day later. His partner needs to go back to London either tonight or early tomorrow morning to check the decorators and take some fitness classes. They think all might be finished by this weekend.

I have things to prepare for the WI Afternoon Tea tomorrow. The cakes are made and I’ve already made some of the icing so I will get on decorating everything today. OH has his Shooting club this evening.

Have a good day.

GrannyIvy Tue 20-Aug-24 07:28:27

Good morning from a wet Cambs. First rain in ages though and beginning to clear already. Too much cloud to see the moon last night sadly! I woke several times as per normal for me and peeped out!
Off to visit some gardens that open a couple of days a week in summer months and a visit to a garden centre with some neighbours today. Hoping all will be ok with the car as DH decided to change all the wheels around on it yesterday, not really sure why!!
Wishing everyone a good day hopefully enjoying sone sunshine and warmth.

RosesandLilac Tue 20-Aug-24 07:35:13

Good morning from a sodden hillside in south Glos, I have to admit that I’m happy it’s rained because I thoroughly weeded and tidied a border yesterday after my dog walk first thing.
Dh hoicked out a very woody lavender that had split and was sprawling across other plants and smothering a rose bush. It is looking much tidier.
It was so chilly here yesterday afternoon (13°) that we lit the wood burner, absolutely ridiculous for August! It poured down early evening.
Today I think I will empty the cupboard in my craft room, I have too much stuffed into it. I will put anything unwanted on the local Facebook page, someone will have it!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Jaxjacky Tue 20-Aug-24 07:39:51

Morning from a brightening S Hants, we’ve had rain overnight, too cloudy to see the super moon when we came home from quiz.
I’ve woken with a slightly dicky tum, so won’t be venturing far, most unlike me, I’ve got a spreadsheet to update from the voluntary phones yesterday to keep me quiet.
That sounds painful Ash roll on your injection.

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s dry and warm and grey at the moment, showers and sunny periods are forecast.
Went into town yesterday and collected my order from John Lewis, also got most of the other items on my list, plus a few other things not on the list!
Did some housework too, lots of orange Sahara dust on the window ledges. Window cleaner came, now I need to clean the insides of the windows.
I’ll go for a walk this morning then maybe start on the windows - no doubt that will make my back ache.
ash I’m sorry your grumbly knee is causing problems, and bonnybanko I hope you can get some relief from your back pain quickly.
I hope today is a good one for us all.

GrannySomerset Tue 20-Aug-24 07:44:13

Feels distinctly autumnal this morning but the forecast is dry so a nice day seems likely. Good day yesterday, with an interesting U3A session led by a young man who is living an an almost self-sufficient life on a hectare of land. It sounded like very hard work but admirable. Then a jolly flower club lunch so no need to cook later. Today is supermarket and admin so less exciting.

Beechnut Tue 20-Aug-24 07:46:40

Good morning everyone from Severnside. We have a dreary looking sky. Never mind I’ve got some indoor jobs to do today.

My brother came by after work yesterday. We talked about our plans for the next few weeks and as usual he gave me something to laugh about.

I got my sewing job finished and ironed some fabric for my next sewing job.

Have a good day all 🌺

Gingster Tue 20-Aug-24 07:52:46

Good morning all and it’s rather dull here on the Suffolk coast.
It’s a shame because DS1 and family are arriving for a few days. Never mind I think I might brighten up this afternoon. They just want some rest and relaxation after a busy time at home, so not much in the agenda.👍.
I didn’t think we were going to be able to see the super moon as it was cloudy, but just as we were going to bed, we let little pooch out into the garden and there, in all it’s glory, was this wonderful sight over the sea. I tried to take a photo but my phone isn’t good enough to capture its beauty.

We heard fireworks earlier in the evening and stood in the garden watching the display from along the coast. All part of the Aldeburgh carnival that’s on this week. I don’t think we’ll go as the town will be heaving and we’ve been so many times before. Son and family might pop along.

Look after that knee Ash.
Your DD obviously takes after you Karma. Strong with an amazing work ethic. That must have been hard for her single handed. 👏👏.

Take care all and it looks like you have torrential rain up there in Bonny Scotland. I hope autumn brings you some respite and you have some brighter days. 🌸

Sar53 Tue 20-Aug-24 07:55:04

Good morning from our boat at Burnham on Crouch. A very windy journey to get here yesterday and a very disturbed night. I managed to catch my arm on a door handle in the middle of the night and have ripped out a big chunk of skin. Luckily I knew where the first aid kit was.
We will be home later, exactly a month after setting of on our adventure.
I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
DD1 and two granddaughters went to see Taylor Swift last night, they were so excited. I'm sure I will hear about it later.
DD2 and another granddaughter are going tonight.
I hope you all have a lovely day xx

Liberty Tue 20-Aug-24 07:56:55

Good morning from a grey sky in Suffolk. There is definitely a hint of autumn just around the corner.

We were amazed by the sight of the field at the bottom of the short track from our back gate yesterday morning on our walk. On Sunday the farmer had drilled it,we didn’t know with what, and yesterday the whole field was green with rape plants a couple of inches high with 2 leaves each.

No rain here for at least 10 days so he must be using a very heavy dose of nitrates. He grew rape in the same field last time. We both wondered what has happened to Turnip Townsend and his 4 year rotation plan, remembered from school days long ago!

Hope today is a good one for all,in spite of the grey start.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 20-Aug-24 08:01:53

Sar53 ouch, I hope your arm heals swiftly

Pleased you are back, looking forward to catching up soon 😘

(I have Taylor Swift envy)

NannyJan53 Tue 20-Aug-24 08:03:41

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

DGD2 is 16 today (DD's eldest). Her day of birth is still as fresh in my mind like it was yesterday. I saw her within 1 hour of being born. Now she is a lovely young lady. Waiting to receive her GCSE results this week!

Wishing you all the best day possible.
