Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like a bright start here in brackley this morning.
Today , the usual bus journey into Bicester do a small shop and hopefully have a chat with some friends .
The warm weather has also been having an effect on my health , with more bad than good days at the moment .
Will watch tour of Spain cycle race on TV this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a chilly Bristol.
I didn’t go to outdoor tai chi yesterday as it was pouting down before I left. I have a 25 minute walk each way, for a 30 minute class. I didn’t feel it worthwhile to get wet and cold..
Instead, I cleaned an outdoor chair to put in my bedroom; I only need to oil in now.
I made some ginger nuts and chocolate biscuits for the complex coffee morning today, the remainder for church on Saturday.
Today, my podiatrist is doing my feet.
Best wishes for today to be a happy dayforyou. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a fresh feeling Cambs. Woken early today after a restless dream filled night.
Yesterday we had heavy rain and wind at lunchtime then a sunny warm afternoon which was good as looked around some gardens in Bedfordshire with afternoon tea served on the lawn.
Today is planned to try and sort the garden out creating a new bed in a sunny area and putting some decorative bark on beds at the front. I have a bougainvillea to put in a pot so I can bring it into the conservatory when the cold weather arrives. Been a busy time socially recently so need a quiet day today on our own.

Good morning from sunny Cornwall. Intriguing trip out yesterday. Firstly a catch-up with my doctor, covering several minor issues and ending up with her enquiring about my 'lovely' teal canvas shoes; she asked where I'd bought them and I told her they'd been grey and I'd painted them so we talked about the best paint for her to do something similar. 😁

Then a bus to my favourite library and on the way home I changed buses at our main hospital. On the bus shelter floor was a canvas bag containing hundreds of pounds in banknotes, an old-school Nokia phone and spare attachments for the end of a walking stick. I passed the bag into the hospital reception. Someone will be frantic about it. 😳

On the second bus journey I sat next to a Canadian lady of my age, a University lecturer visiting her very old, poorly dad. We had such a good chat. A lady opposite us was juggling two very large shell-shaped plastic things. 'Are they sandpits?' I asked as she staggered past. 'They're supposed to be but I've got them for my geese.' Of course.

A surreal trip. 🤣🤣 Today will be more normal, unless I venture out again.

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Shunted furniture around yesterday to allow me to paint the skirting boards ready for tomorrows carpet fitting. I was concerned Mr C was doing too much, he was concerned I was. Daft pair. We were both fine, if tired. A totally unintelligible letter arrived from the eye hospital. Google wasn’t much help with translation. Why can’t they write in plain English?

Final hospital physio run session this morning, not at all sure it’s helped although it’s been enjoyable as we’ve laughed a lot. I’ll be pleased to reclaim two mornings each week. Straight from there to a development meeting for an hour before last bits to move around here.

With thoughts of all with worries a hope that Wednesday is kind to us all.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire,

An interesting day, Mizuna! You could write a story.

Today is the WI Summer Afternoon Tea. I’ve iced and decorated two lots of muffins spiced chocolate and rum and ginger. In the meantime OH will go to the U3A lunch. I could only go if I just had a starter!

Elder son’s partner is back from London this afternoon. I’m not sure what son and granddaughter will do today. They won’t have a car and the bus service is abysmal. We are surrounded by lots of interesting walks.

Have a good day everyone. I do hope Urms is having a wonderful time.

cornergran Wed 21-Aug-24 06:35:14

That was quite a day mizuna. smile.

luluaugust Wed 21-Aug-24 06:41:23

Good morning from W Kent where the sun is out but it is 12 degrees.
Goodness Mizuna that was quite a day, I wonder why someone was carrying hundreds of pounds around.
I had a lovely time yesterday afternoon as DD2 stopped by for a good chat, her children are staying with their cousins.
I am off to a new art group this morning, very small and I have no idea how good they are so a bit anxious, we shall see.
Good wishes all round.

Good morning from south Glos, the sky is a very pale blue and it’s chilly.
I spent several hours yesterday clearing out my cupboard in the room I call my craft room, it’s looking much better although I didn’t throw much out for recycling.
The runner beans are producing well, I will give some to my neighbours as I don’t have room in the freezer.
A bit more gardening today, there’s also laundry to be done and I am sure I will find plenty to do!
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from s somerset, cooler, dull and windy for the whole day

Some 1.3 litre lock and lock boxes arrived yesterday. Using wholefoods as I do, I have many bags of goodies that I want to store more neatly, seeds etc I will make labels today and re-organise the fridge for them. I would also like to do some general tidying and maybe dusting today.

I finished my autumn coat which fits my body perfectly. I now want to get going on items that I have cut out, starting with the weather-proof bomber jacket that I will need for cycling. It is ready to start and I found zips, one for down the centre and 2 for side pockets in the princess seams. I dithered about bothering to do the pockets but safe pockets are always useful

Have a good day

luluaugust, a few times I've been behind different people, always much older than me, in the bank or Post Office when they've drawn out hundreds of pounds. They walk away from the counter, checking it for all to see. It bothers me. Maybe they're people who are worried to give up using cash.

Ashcombe Wed 21-Aug-24 07:01:44

Good morning from a bright start in Torbay.

Mizuna: parts of your day sounded like some kind of bizarre dream!

Yesterday was a busy time at Props as we had to put away items used on stage in our two week run of Blackadder. The youth drama group have a week long project going on and the set builders were on stage preparing for our next production: The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie. Torquay hosts a festival in her memory each September to coincide with her birthday on the 15th.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from a bright and fresh North Leicestershire.

Early start as usual on Wednesdays. DH has a gym class at 9.15 so leaves home at 8.30 and our cleaner comes at 9.00. We used to have 2 cleaners for 1 hour but they have decided to go their separate ways - hope we've gone with the best one.

I will be ironing!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Wed 21-Aug-24 07:18:23

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Chilly, autumnal.
I've woken with a backache which is a pest.
What an interesting bus journey you had Mizuna!.

I found a £20 note in my attic recently. It looked brand new till I realised it is paper not slippery plastic like they all are now. I wonder if a bank will honour it.
Like my old stamps which I never used and are now obsolete.

Yarn group this morning and I should finish this sweater which has taken over a year. Also a dress I'm sewing which is supposed to be ready for a party on Saturday.

I hope your carpet fitting goes well corner

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning from a bright breezy Durham. An early coffee with a friend and we’ll exchange birthday presents for family members.
The afternoon will be spent waiting in for Openreach to connect my new internet, so I’ll do a bit of housework while I wait.
Best wishes to all. X

Greyduster Wed 21-Aug-24 07:27:28

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. I spent a lovely couple of hours drinking coffee with a friend yesterday. It was very good to catch up with her. I came home and spent some time in my rather untidy back garden where lots of things have gone over and needed removing in time for the green bin collection today. My garden is going into its lag phase and I won’t be far behind it!
Writers group at the library this afternoon and a spot of shopping while I’m at the mall.
Have the best day you can folks.

Redcar Wed 21-Aug-24 07:28:12

Good morning from a sunny, dry but chilly mid essex.
What an interesting day mizuna! I went for my usual walk yesterday, but was a bit later than normal so didn’t see any of the usual dog walking friends. My neighbour cut the grass yesterday, although it hadn’t grown much, but does look nice and tidy now. If only I could cut the edges! I have the necessary tools, but due to back problems, find them painful to use for more than a few minutes at a time.
DD2 will be here today to work from home, her mil will look after the children for the day. DD2 and the children will stay here tonight., which will be good.
As the window cleaner came on Monday, I’ll continue to clean the insides of them today. I did some yesterday, but find it a struggle to reach some of them as I’m not as tall as I used to be, and I don’t dare get up a step ladder!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a sunny still morning in north yorkshire. I have enjoyed reading all your posts . You never know what a day may bring! Dont think my day will bring such variety. Have been away and am in that state , where I am here physically, but not yet back to any routines. I have managed to empty cases and have got all the washing done, while the weather has been good, but still chaos to sort out, much to catch up on, and so today will be more of the same sorting and especially doing some ironing , as I seem down to the clothes I like least left to wear. Tomorrow am looking forward to meeting my oldest friend for lunch, which will be a treat in itself but also egg me on to get more things sorted today. I tripped up and fell quite badly last week, no bones broken but my knee is very badly bruised and getting up and down is difficult , annoying too of course, but am now getting quite a spectacular range of colours in the bruise. Perhaps I should paint the other knee to match and start a new trend , my version of tatooing?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 21-Aug-24 07:32:37

Morning all, the sky is blue and it’s going to reach 22° today.

DD is taking her boys to get new school shoes today and has asked me to go with her. We will have lunch out.

I cannot believe that The Imp is starting big school in September, it only seems like yesterday I saw him arriving in this world 💙

We went out for a nice walk yesterday, The Imp on his balance bike, 9yr old on his scooter, phew they are fast

Mizuna what a day!!!

Ashcombe I like Agatha Christie 👍🏻

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but clouding over this afternoon.
Not much planned for today so will see what I feel like doing, which will probably be not much!

Had a good walk with my group in warm sunshine yesterday afternoon, followed by coffee and home-made lemon drizzle cake. When I got home I took my book and the radio into the garden and enjoyed more sunshine.

DD comes over early evening as it is our ladies wine club summer dinner out. I have booked a table for 9 at a local restaurant. Will need to book a taxi, as although local, it is too far to walk in our posh shoes and finery!

Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Wed 21-Aug-24 07:37:10

I know Mizuna I have seen similar and it worries me too.

Bonnybanko Wed 21-Aug-24 07:42:16

Good morning from what appears to be a very bright start to the day according to my ring doorbell on the east coast of Fife.
I’ve still got a very very sore back which I twisted the other day, and I’m continuing to take paracetamols every four hrs.

I had a better sleep last night, thank goodness for those painkillers. I’m afraid I can’t take anything stronger

I’m hoping my back recovers very soon as I’m flying to Sicily in a couple of weeks time.

Today I’ll just take it easy and I’ll keep taking the paracetamols every 4 hrs.

My school friend popped in last night to have a Chinese carry out with me, mine was tasty but hers wasn’t quite up to scratch.

Have a good day my friends or as best you can

Bonnybanko Wed 21-Aug-24 07:45:59

See what I received in the post, I got the shock of my life when I received a reply to my letter
