Good morning all, and we seem to have missed the worst of the stormy weather over here on the Angus coast. I had a lousy night's sleep though as my tinnitus mimicked a raging storm and I was worried about the damage!!
Karma you were very lucky that that brick didn't do lasting damage! Arnica is good though, isn't it.
You're not sounding your usual cheerful self RosesandLilac - I hope you feel better soon and can get a better night's sleep.
I've been over a week without hearing aids now and it's so depressing and isolating. And frustrating!! Before tai chi yesterday I was in the kitchen at the hall making sure everything was ready for the all-important coffee break when one of the ladies came in. I gave my usual greeting of "Hello. How are you" and after she said she was fine she went on to say that no, she wasn't really and proceeded to offload. I felt so awful that I couldn't make out half that she said and yet felt I couldn't keep asking her to repeat. I felt so useless, but I hope that letting off that head of steam helped her a little.
Today I'm off to get my hair cut - it grows so quickly I should really just have my head shaved! I'm meeting my niece for coffee first. I tried to put her off but she was not to be put off - she says she'll shout! - it's going to be an 'interesting' hour.
Have a good day everyone and let's hope the weather picks up for the Bank Holiday weekend ☀️

Good morning from a wet NE where we also have gale force winds. A very disturbed night with the noise. I need to get dressed so that I can bring in the wheelie bin as soon as the wagon has been, an empty bin would blow down the hill.
My sister says she would like to visit this afternoon, she will arrive and depart in a taxi so should not be a problem. If she was using public transport I would have told her not to risk it in case she gets blown over.

I received two more photos of GD and friend in Menorca, on the beach and in the swimming pool, they looked so happy and relaxed.

Have a good BH weekend.

Morning from a sunny S Hants, it was very turbulent overnight. Well done to all the exam takers, Imogen passed all of hers, including Maths, her least favourite, college next.
Tricky to tell how my back is improving, it seizes up overnight, yesterday was quiet; Tesco delivery today, but I have doubts about pub tonight.

Good morning from a wet and windy east coast of Fife. However that won’t stop me going out. I’ve a planned afternoon at the local bingo hall hoping to win some money for my holiday coming up soon.

Have a good day my friends , keep warm and safe

Good morning from a cool damp looking Suffolk where the weather forecast is much kinder than the west of the country and Scotland. I hope those experiencing bad weather don’t have too difficult a day.

Proud granny here! DGD2 ‘smashed it’ yesterday with her exam results…..DD’s description not mine of the 11 passes,9 at the top grade and the other 2 just below. I hope all the other 16 year olds were happy with theirs and know that hard work produces good results.

I’m having lunch with a dear colleague who has just resigned from the service for which I have a monthly meeting. I shall miss her excellent contributions.

We are expecting our Bristol family sometime over the weekend but their plans are still in progress. Typical family life I think with 3 teenagers!

Good morning all and it’s raining and very windy here too, on the Suffolk coast. The sea is high and very moody looking. I do love watching it like this.

Dd and DGD had a good train journey up here and we met them at the nearest station. We went on the beach , wave hopping and a bit of a dig in the sand for a while and visited friends at the lodge just up the beach from here.

Goodness knows what we’ll do today , plans have gone awry with the weather. Cinema is closed today 😫 but perhaps a visit to the sports centre - we’ll see. Such a shame as we’ve had glorious weather for the whole of the school holidays and the sun is due to return next week, after we go ‘home’.

Congrats to all the exam successes. Hard work brings results.🥇.

Hope you’re foot is ok Karma

Our WiFi here is very intermittent - must be down to the weather.

Take care all ☔️

We have had a wild night but dry at the moment though gusty wind is flattening the garden. Oldies coffee morning (indoors, thank goodness) but nothing else planned. Might do some cooking for the freezer, depending on what is for sale at the market. Looks like an indoor day again.

Late to the party because I decided to make a cushion when I woke up. Anyway, good morning from a cool but sunny Cornwall. The huge ash tree above my patio has started shedding, always the first sign of autumn in my patch.

I'm on a bus right now to the hospital for my final knee check-up (two young men chatting behind me sound a bit tipsy; the end of a hectic night I suspect 😁) then I think to Perranporth for a coffee and walk on the sands. Yesterday I went to Penzance on the bus, back by train. I love this freedom but am looking forward to getting back to the things I really love to do in a month or so.

Good morning Mick and all from a windy Sunnyside.
Nice coach trip yesterday, although the stops were not outstanding. This one at the River Wyre was nice however. A grumpy driver, who never spoke, unlike some who welcome everyone, chat and give general info. I forgo a tip for him…

Two long FaceTimes in the evening, sister and DF. Today to the hairdresser for a trim and roots colour. Also my ongoing feeding the neighbour’s cat. She’s very shy, unlike her sister, who cheekily plonked herself on me.
Terrible night with cramp. It’s hard to look forward to the day when you feel knackered.

Hope your hearing aid situation is sorted soon Taichinan, congratulations to all the exam DGC and take it easy cycling on the television Mick, it sounds dangerous!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is wet.

I came into the sitting room to find there is an inch of rain water in the buckets.
I am distraught.
I have contacted the roofer but the plasterers are booked for early September so this is too bad.

I'm sorry for the moan. I wish I could think of something else to say!

Well done to all the youngsters who achieved the grades they need. This includes my DGD who is going to Art College and is coming to stay here tomorrow with her dad.

I've been invited out to dinner tonight. I'm making the pudding. It's to be something with plums from my plum tree.
Work this morning at the community store.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend those in England.

Look after those toes Karmalady

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright and breezy Carlisle. I woke up to pouring rain but it's entirely disappeared. The overnight gale that was forecast didn't happen so I hope that's that.
I got out in the garden yesterday afternoon having had my usual Tesco delivery at lunchtime. Lots of deadheading and cutting back plus splitting and replanting items in my gravel bed. Some things do too well!
Very successful results from my granddaughter too so onto college soon.

I'm really sorry to read your news Grammaretto, I thought you were finally sorted. Is it worth getting a good surveyor in?

And wishing you all a good holiday weekend.
