Heve you seen Jarvis live?
Marvellous!!
I always thought he was underrated.
True - he somehow seemed to be in Oasis shadow. Maybe if he had actively cultivated a Bad Boy image like the Gallaghers......?
Is anyone else fed up to the back teeth with all the hype over Oasis getting back together. Listening, reluctantly, to the bits of their "music" on the news, it is just a noise. Lyrics? are indistinguishable, and how can they be called the Greatest Song Writers?
OK,
I shall now retreat and wait for the backlash.

Yes, perhaps so.
I've only just taken down my jarvis poster from inside my wardrobe door.
I need to vhack out what he's up to these days, I think.
My kids loved oasis and blur, and pulp.
Personally when it comes to pop anthems I much prefer Bryan Adams or Springsteen.
Brit pop kind of left me cold though I loved British pop in the sixties and seventies.
Have to add REM, saw them in Hyde park with my grown family a week after the London bombings.
Now if they ever regrouped I would pay good money for that.
Sorry tickingbird but I can't imagine the brothers ever being mortified by the opinions of some elderly ladies.
No me neither. They wouldn’t give a toss but then again, neither would H&M or Angela Rayner et al. That trouser suit was ghastly so was the flowery, enormously puffed sleeved creation I saw her wearing last week.
Very talented together and as solo artistes. Would love to see them just to relive those day. Knowing I'm considerably older and wasn't exactly in my youth (30s) during their heyday, might wait for the documentary to hit the cinemas.

Well, he did bare his bum at the Brits
! I don’t think even Liam or Noel have ever done anything like that
it's not going to change my life in the slightest!
i was never a fan and i'm already sick and fed up with all the hype.
I couldn’t care less. I never liked them or their music and I’ll be surprised if they finish the tour, or even start it!

I never got the whole Britpop scene as I wasn't into pop music by the 1990s. I'm trying to catch up by watching TOTP2 but I still don't like that era. One group who sound even worse than Oasis were Blur. The songs I've heard were tuneless and the singer had absolutely no voice at all. The poor kids must have been absolutely desperate to listen to that.
Maybe those 'poor kids' would hate the kind of music you like? For the record (see what I did there
), I like Blur - and Pulp. I love music - full stop. I love keeping in touch with new music and my tastes are nothing if not eclectic. One of the highlights of my year so far was seeing the Foo Fighters live in Glasgow. I'm sure some of those on here complaining about Oasis went mad over certain bands back in their day too.
I've gone with the hype and tried to get a ticket but couldn't even get in on the pre-sales ballot.
I've never seen them before, and don't like them as people, but do love some of their music, especially Don't Look Back in Anger.

I’ve never ‘got’ Foo Fighters and it can’t be for not liking that sort of music. I’ve never found any of their songs to be anthemic. I loved Nirvana.
Guess I am just too old to get excited about Oasis! Always thought they were rubbish but each to their own! Give me Quo, Thunder & Rush & I’m happy!
Agree...their nasal whiny voices get on my nerves! Grossly overrated in my opinion! Music is such a personal thing....I just think..1. They must need the money and 2. Only a matter of time till they fall out again! 3. Question is before or after tour! 🤣
I love Nirvana too, MayBee70, but the Foos are one of my all-time favourite bands. I'm very glad I finally got to see them perform live. But I always say it'd be a very boring world if we all liked the same things.
Update: I've got through on the ballot!
Note to self: Don't get too excited, you know you won't get one
I should like them, though. Maybe I’ll try to listen to more of their stuff. There are some groups like Bellowhead and The Waterboys that I love seeing live but never want to play their music. Watching a programme about The Kinks the other night I realised they’ve made numerous albums but I only know them from their singles.
I really didliked Oasis, they have some great music and lyrics but the singer has the most awful drone of a voice he spoils it. Sick to death of hearing snippets of the drone on tv and radio.
I don't mind their music but I won't feather their nests going to see them for, no doubt, outlandishly priced tickets. I hate their nastiness and their pride in their anti-social behaviour when they were growing up.
I'd love to see them but prob unable to get a ticket esp near the front

The music journalists are reporting that none of the concerts will be filmed or televised, not sure if there will be a documentary.
I'm not fed up at the moment, but I will be if I don't get tickets! 😄
I’m not really familiar with their music but from what I’ve heard about them, a couple of tow rags comes to mind.

Kate Bush never released a film of the concerts she did a few years ago. I was so disappointed as the shows were said to be amazing. Someone told me it was because she wasn’t happy with the quality of the film that had been made but I would have lived to have seen it
.
I’ll be trying to get tickets for Manchester. I only know the first two albums well, but really love them - my life was then overtaken by children. My son wants to come too. He came with be to see The Eagles and the Doobies in June and tells everyone that he’s glad these he grew up in a house full of good music.
