Good Morning Everyone,
Its a twilight start but dry at the moment in brackley ,after what I heard in the night rainstorms in earlier hours .
A easy day at home , doing the usual housework routines , followed by lunch and cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Morning from South Lanarkshire, dry still, but grey outside.
I tried to go to Vigil mass last night but the washing machine wouldn’t finish spinning for ages and I didn’t want to leave it on so abandoned the attempt. If the threatened heavy rain arrives I'll return to lockdown mode and go online.

We had proper sunshine yesterday, it was such a treat! After lunch I broke out a t shirt!

A very cheery Sky engineer arrived on Friday Georgesgran and totally bamboozled me. He told me that Sky shouldn’t have sold me the hub for my garden room as the distance was too great but he set it up anyway. I did receive Sky for an hour or so but now I am only receiving ‘council tv’ but in fairness I was not even getting that before😳😂.
He also talked me into changing my internet provider to Sky, which to be honest does look as if it will save me quite a lot of money but at least two other appointments will be necessary to complete all the work and I vow not to have any more work done without a supervising daughter with me!

Good wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk day after a dull and somewhat chilly one yesterday.

Lovely Blossoming to see your post as I began mine. Hope all is well with you.

Expecting DS and his family today but don’t yet know when. As it is an hours drive they usually message as they leave knowing that we’ll welcome them whenever they come.

We are off to Majorca in September and I was surprised to see that the hotel we are staying in was listed in the article in yesterday’s Times on ‘The most glamorous beach hotels.

DH is not a beach lover so is not impressed! Hope all have a good day.

Good morning from a dry Cambs, been raining in the night but the forecast is for 100%rain today. It will be a quiet day for us as I’m still recovering from this chesty virus. DH is busy planning his trip to Bletchley Park tomorrow with DD1, they are having a day out together, it is his Father’s Day present. It looks like it will be a good day out.
My appetite is returning so will do a roast dinner later.
Have a good day everyone and happy September 💐

We have yellow warnings all day too but it looks quiet enough at present. Am leading the lay service this morning on the theme of gratitude - not terribly fashionable but something worth contemplating, I think. Hope the small congregation will find something to take away from it; good positive hymns will be a help.

Hope the day is a good one for everyone.

Morning everyone 🐇🐇🐇

September already 🤷‍♀️

A lazy day here at Gravy Grange, kindle and sofa. Roast pork this evening.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, we have patches of blue sky although rain is forecast.

DGD and I had a smashing day out yesterday. She had started high school this month so I was brought up to date with all her news about that. Her timetable, subjects, teachers, classmates, all were discussed at length. We shopped and ate at her favourite pasta restaurant and the sunshine in Glasgow yesterday made such a difference to our day out.

Marydoll Sun 01-Sept-24 08:55:45

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
Yesterday was a glorious day.

Blossoming, it is lovely to see you back! 🥰

Last night I encountered a series of disasters, at church (I won't bore you) apart from mentioning, spraying WD40 in my hair, instead of a jammed lock. I think I am on to a winner there, my hair stayed in place, all through Mass.
The fact that I was on my own, added to my troubles. Much to my surprise, the curate asked me what he could do to help! That is indeed a first.

DD came to visit yesterday and admitted that being made redundant, was in fact a relief. She was working unreasonable hours in a toxic and stressful workplace and was glad to leave. It does not stop me working about her.

I plan to have a restful day, apart from going to look for an unusual size of battery for the screen in the parish hall. If successful, I will go and replace it. Seeing Dollie, there will be a bonus!

Enjoy all your busyness today. I hope your DD is on the mend Kitty and hugs for Kalu.

Posted too soon.

Not much on the agenda today. I brought back bags of stuff from DS’s house the other day, I’ve to sort it and take to charity shop or dump so that’s probably my afternoon’s work.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, rain forecast after lunch.

I want to pop into town this morning quickly to pick up my ordered book from Smith's, so everything is go here so I can set off early. A sausage is in the air fryer for my Sunday butty, and a load of washing is in the machine.

Came home early from my shopping trip yesterday as DS needed to borrow one of late DH's suit carriers, and DS's house key didn't.seem to work. So I got him to pick me up from Sainsbury's instead of catching the bus home. DS was off to a work mate's wedding in Essex, a long drive, and needed to get his suit there looking uncreased!

Ash, my brother is a 'supply' priest, and does three Sundays out of four in various churches in the diocese. Now retired he really enjoys it as he has all the joys of taking services without the hard graft of parish work and responsibilities of being a parish priest. He does a lot of inter-regnum work. Every Sunday he puts a post on Facebook of the beautiful village (or town) church he has been to that day.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday, and a happy White Rabbits Day!

Good morning Mick and everyone from dull, grey Carlisle.
Yesterday was another beautiful sunny day though slightly cooler. Although feeling still under the weather, I was determined to walk through the park to fetch the paper. I nearly missed out, getting the last but one of my choice. They don't have a big stock of actual newspapers.
The rest of the day was spent on boring admin and then reading after a long phone chat to my sister.
Today, I would like to try and get one of my new plants in the ground...I'm going to have to pace myself with gardening and rain may decide the issue. I have more admin I must do and then it will be the papers, puzzles and my new book. The latter is entertaining, I bought it from the author at a talk, he's a local historian.

I hope the day goes as you wish.

Morning Mick and all. It's wall-to-wall non-stop grey on the Angus coast today after a brilliant and hot sunny day yesterday. It's also the meteorological first day of Autumn 🍂🍁.
Lovely pic of your grandson Mizuna - he sounds a real little livewire.
Blossoming 👋. I don't think you've been in here for a while. I hope all is well.
Bellasnana how I remember the humidity of September in Malta! I loved living there - but not that!
After taking full advantage of the sun yesterday, today there are plenty of indoor 'grey weather' tasks to keep me occupied, so I must get on and get moving! Happy Sunday to all x

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
A quiet day yesterday, but I walked in the nearby sand dunes and read a book about Elizabeth Branwell, who brought up the Bronte children after their mother, her sister died. She grew up in Penzance, Cornwall Mizuna, which you may know.

My neighbours are back, so that is the end of my cat feeding duties. Their cat is so shy, she still kept running away even after nearly two weeks.
Another quiet day today, I will make a card for a friend’s birthday and prepare for DDs arrival from the south tomorrow.
Thoughts to all and hello Blossoming🌺

harrigran Sun 01-Sept-24 09:27:11

Good morning from an overcast NE. Forecast is for rain today.
I was woken by a disturbance in the street at 3.50am, three males running around and shouting to each other. I got up and watched them on the CCTV monitor, they pulled up the for sale sign from the house opposite and went off waving it around. It took me ages to get back to sleep.

Today is the family birthday celebration for GD2, she is 15 tomorrow. We are going to a restaurant and then back to mine for cake. I am looking forward to hearing about her holiday and seeing her photos.
Have a good day and thoughts are with missing posters.

Grandmabatty Sun 01-Sept-24 09:27:25

Nice to hear from you Blossoming

monk08 Sun 01-Sept-24 09:40:17

Good morning all after overnight rain the sun is shining here in the Black country.
Haven't read any posts yet but some nice photos on here.
No plans as such will see where the day takes me, roast lamb for dinner.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all from a dull and rather grey north yorkshire. Cant complain as yesterday was a lovely sunny day. I went to meet my son and family so a longish drive but lovely countryside, much of the harvest already in and tractors beginnning to plough. I had been trying to pretend that summer wasnt coming to an end but the chill in the morning and that autumny smell tells me I need to enjoy the autumn now. Pleased to see the family but everywhere was so busy , of course everyone trying to make the most of the good weather. Took a steady trip home and stopped up at the top of Swaledale to enjoy the view for a while. Very weary today and back not good so think it will just be a steady day here trying to tidy up and getting things put back to where they need to be and then I think I shall tackle the wardrobe and get round to putting a lot of summer stuff away. I enjoy listening to radio 3 and thre will be Private Passions on to keep me company. September is always a starting time to me as I was a teacher and that beginning of the year feeling . These days it usually means looking to see what classes there are beginning. I am making a start with learning Makaton so hope that that goes well. Have a good day everyone
