Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to a twilight situ but it is dry at the moment here in brackley .
After yesterdays altered plans with the bowel situ , today will do my usual routine with a bus to Bicester and besides shopping hopefully meet others I know .
I will watch a bit of tour of Britain cycle race on TV , but also watch the drama unfold on the Tour of Spain .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp Torbay. I’m glad you’re feeling well enough to go out today, Mick.

Yesterday I joined an online introductory session to a four week course being run by the Stroke Association which was interesting because we were encouraged to talk about our experiences. Later, I went to Wednesday Club where the meeting was devoted to reflections on the life of a long-term member who recently died.

Today, the rest of my new furniture is being delivered, comprising a sideboard and nest of tables which matches the coffee table which arrived last week.

Have as good a day as possible, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. I’m not sure what the weather is doing yet.

Yesterday was very pleasant, childminding for an hour before school and a couple of hours after is a scoosh.

The photo is of the view over the Firth of Forth on a gorgeous sunny afternoon.
I took it from the little park outside the school gates where the DGDs and I played for a while before walking home.

Today will be spent doing some food shopping and a bit of homework I think.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning, it was dry when I looked outside an hour ago, here in south Glos.
I trekked into town to the hospital to return the sleep monitor, it was an hour each way but quite enjoyable sitting on the bus - driving would have taken longer at that hour of the morning.
I finished planting up a raised planter and started putting bulbs in the back border, for some reason I ended up very short of breath which didn’t make sense to me 🤷🏼‍♀️
Today I need to tackle housework, after the early dog walk, it’s supposed to be raining all day.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning from a dry Bristol. We are forecast rain of biblical proportions this afternoon. Summer has disappeared. A St. Luke’s summer later in the year is prescribed.
I had a busy day yesterday. After morning prayers in church, the vicar suggested I should front a “Later Life” weekly chat group in the church. Something to ge5 me out of the flat.
On my way home, I got some pansies to replace the lobelia which was looking almost finished. I took them out and replaced them with said pansies and some pretty miniature daisies from Tesco. My pots are looking a bit empty now, but should fill out soon (I hope).
In the after,I’m went to my TG meeting where a young man was selling the benefits of CBD oil. Snake oil more likely. Yes, it has benefits for some conditions, but “everything”? Hmmm. And it was terribly expensive.
I rushed home for my “salon”. Two neighbours and I have our hair cut here. It feels so much better now my summer growth has been pruned.
Indoor tai chi this morning and I’m getting my new pc this afternoon.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Just getting light in South Yorkshire to reveal a grey damp start. The jury’s out on whether I’ll go walking this morning. Yesterday, writers group was cancelled, so, on a whim, I went to Meadowhall. It’s like the seven circles of hell and I didn’t get what I wanted, and then I lost all sense of direction and couldn’t find my way out. It will be a long time before I go again. Had a long face time chat with DS yesterday evening - and the “granddog” he is looking after who is a sweetie but totally exhausting as she is permanently glued to him so he can’t get anything done. She’s going home on Friday.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

Up early (ish) as it is our monthly Memory Cafe thus morning. We have 'Singing Peter' who always goes down well and give us a chance to chat with the carers.

Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon.

Good morning from Belfast weather looks promising today I can see blue sky. I listened to the forecast last night and put my washing out. Fingers crossed.
Yesterday I took my geraniums into the poly tunnel repotted them. Getting ready for autumn/winter.
Hanging baskets looking sad.
Today I hope to go into Belfast I have to return boots.
Not looking forward to it.
Whatever you are all doing have a lovely day.

Good morning from an overcast, gloomy looking Malta. Still very hot and muggy though.

My friend is on her way from the UK so this is not the weather I ordered to greet her.

Had a longer procedure than I’d expected at the dentist yesterday. A cracked tooth needed an injection, a lot of drilling and faffing and a filling. It wasn’t too bad, the worst being numb for four hours. I was desperate for a coffee but drooled it all down my front so had to resort to using a straw!😄

Watched the boys for a couple of hours whilst DD3 also went to the dentist and had the first filling of any of my four children.
I’m so annoyed!😂

DD1 came over with her little dog who had come through his surgery looking rather the worse for wear, but he is doing well thank goodness. I dread the day he goes as he’s the love of DD1’s life . He’s a service dog and goes everywhere with her except to work when he goes to day care.

I shall be off to the airport soon to meet my pal. I’m very tired as I didn’t sleep at all well then got up at 2.30 to watch the US Open. A good match but I’m so sleepy now.

Have a good day all.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, torrential rain is expected soon, light rain for now and a gloomy day, all day long

Seeing the forecast ahead I decided to take a gamble yesterday on getting my two lengths of linen fabric washed and dried, I do prefer outside drying and they did dry

Meanwhile I got busy in the garden, it was strenuous work with heavy lifting but another amount is done and ready for winter. Plus I used a tall lopper to tidy some trees, that was scary at first.

I took all the massive cooking apples off a young tree, each apple weighs around 500+g. Half are now carefully laid down for winter storage, some into the compost and enough in the house to make 4 crumbles, which I did and so much for planning to do nothing yesterday

Today needs to be an indoor day and to make the day interesting and absorbing, I am going to start on a complicated sew, this time maison fauve pilar jacket in corduroy

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s grey here at the moment, and we have had a little rain in the night. It may rain today, who knows!
This is the first morning I’ve had to put the lights on , definitely signs of seasons changing.
I went to the garden centre yesterday and bought some more bulbs and plants to cheer up the garden for the autumn and winter. I just have to plant them all now.
I have a few admin tasks to do today & some ironing.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from cloudy Lancashire. I was able to get up for a few hours yesterday. We had some rain, mainly drizzle but a few heavy showers. I enjoyed a bowl of muesli for brunch and finely diced air fried chicken breast with mayonnaise plus lettuce from the garden in the evening.

Have a good Thursday 🥀

Bonnybanko Thu 05-Sept-24 07:15:10

Good morning all, the sun is shining here on the east coast of Fife. the high is to reach 64 degrees today.
I made macaroni cheese and lentil soup yesterday as my friend of old is coming for her lunch today We’re going to have a real catchup.

Only one more sleep before my holiday, I’ll probably home burnt to a crisp as it’s a very hot country I’m going to.

Take care my lovely friends you are so important to me ❤️

Bonnybanko Thu 05-Sept-24 07:16:02

Come home oops posted too quickly

Mizuna Thu 05-Sept-24 07:20:51

Good morning from a rainy Cornwall. Broken night because the heating came on and I woke up hot! Non-stop day with my granddaughter yesterday: she painted, cooked and made ingenious tunnels and camps throughout my little flat with throws and cushions. I followed in her wake with my sewing basket and a denim pillow sham I'm making by hand and had virtually finished it by the end of the day.

Today I'll take a book and flask of tea and do some bus-hopping, maybe to the centre of the county where my favourite second-hand bookshop is.

Georgesgran Thu 05-Sept-24 07:27:05

Good morning from Durham. It’s raining - just what I need (not) as I’ve a hair appointment this morning in Newcastle. Much as I’d like a wander around the shops (months since I’ve been) I’ll have to be a quick with Little Dog left alone here. He goes back home tomorrow, but I’ve him later in the month when SinLaw2 is away.
DD2 is back today - she’s had a fabulous time in New York, judging by her Instagram posts - I bet she’s already planning her next visit!
Best wishes to all. X

Morning all from a grey and windy West Oxfordshire.

My kitchen is still sticky with honey. There are five enormous tubs of honey on the dining room table which OH needs to put into pots. We went out for dinner last night as it was difficult to access anything in the kitchen. Well, that was my excuse. Hopefully today we’ll get things sorted out and back to normal.

I have booked a V&A talk on zoom for this evening. Craig Brown will talk about his new book on the late Queen.

My brother sent me exciting news this morning. A photo of an ultrasound scan. It seems his younger daughter is expecting her first baby. His elder daughter has two children so he must be thrilled.

Have a good day and I hope Urms gets sorted soon. The antics of the GN moderators are a wonder to behold.

Gingster Thu 05-Sept-24 07:36:34

Good morning and it’s dreary here in Essex. Rain forecast for much of the day.

I’m meeting Dd and dgd1 for lunch and had hoped to be sitting outside. 🙄.
Yesterday I went with two friends to the ‘Secret Garden’ behind a pub in town. I never knew it was there and it’s so lovely.
Spacious outdoor seating and very luxurious indoor tea room.
Perhaps it’s one for us GG and Sar. ?

I’ll buy snacks for my trip out tomorrow. My df and I are going on a ‘hovercraft’ experience to the Isle of Wight , just for the day. Lunch in a nice restaurant and a look around and back home by 9 .

Have a lovely time with your friend Bellasnanna.
Beautiful view Baubles.

Take care everyone 🌻

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Sept-24 07:39:13

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and a bit damp out. Yesterday I did some housework and weeding. I had a very bad night with painful feet and legs, courtesy of diabetes, so today I have no plans. Have a good day all

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-Sept-24 07:39:40

Morning everyone it’s grey outside.

No childcare today! I have a hairdresser appointment at noon, shall I keep it short and continue struggling or let it grow out to my usual long bob ?

Decorators are here to continue work in one of the bedrooms, hopefully replacing coving and sorting electrics today 🤞

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

cornergran Thu 05-Sept-24 07:46:51

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset. Heavy rain forecast for the day.

We headed out to a steam train museum yesterday, worth the journey as we love all things steam. We could have stuck with original plans with our friends as a roof wasn’t needed there or here, the promised rain didn’t materialise. Oh well, their decision, a shame though as her suggested day next week looks far wetter. Wait and see time.

A research session at the computer for me today. I love a bit of research, an hour and a break before another hour and it will keep my brain busy.

Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Liberty Thu 05-Sept-24 07:46:56

Good morning from a grey Suffolk with rain forecast,I think, later.

I’m off to my usual stretch class soon. I missed my keep fit class yesterday because of my long morning meeting so always feel stiffer when I haven’t exercised the day before. But I tell myself it must be good for me!

I’m meeting 3 old friends for lunch up the coast so a good catch up is guaranteed. I’m the oldest by a few years and the youngest has children in their 20s so always interesting conversations with different perspectives on some topics.

Hope today is a good one for all.

brook2704 Thu 05-Sept-24 07:47:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still grey but at least it’s dry
Gorgeous view Baubles
I really enjoyed the aqua aerobics yesterday and then a walk by the river into town. This afternoon I’ve an online volunteering session and then 9 year old DGD is coming for a sleepover. My two DGSs in Cambridge went back to school yesterday and DD1 sent me such a gorgeous photo of them both - I’m missing them of course but I’ll soon be seeing them again at the end of the month.
Have a lovely time with your UK friend Bellas
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care whatever the day brings bring

EkwaNimitee Thu 05-Sept-24 07:48:41

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle. In theory, it's supposed to be dry today but we'll see.
I hope it is because I need to get on with things in the garden. My plans for a walk or gardening yesterday didn't happen. My conscience wouldn't let me look at my filthy car any longer so, on an impulse, I went out and washed it. That involved fetching buckets of water as I can't get my outside tap to function. I felt good for giving my halo such a polish! The car's resident spiders weren't happy though.... After all that exertion, I thought I'd earned a respite from hard labour and got on with sitting down jobs.

Today...the garden? If it's wet, I'll just have to get on with more tedious stuff like some admin and I've started a new book though I've realised I've read it before. So far, I remember nothing about how it unfolds. It may or may not get proceeded with.

Have a great holiday, Bonnybanko. And don't forget the suncream!

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning all from acloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
I felt really unwell during the night and still have a blinding headache, Mr MD, of course was oblivious.

I went to the hairdresser's yesterday, to be met with a puzzled look. Another lady said she had an appointment for the same time. Last time I went the same thing happened and it transpired that the customer had turned up an hour early.
This time the customer had turned up a day early! 😂

The day was spent collating the change over information for the arrival of the new Parish Priest tomorrow, no wonder my head is pounding. I have had this headache for days. 😔

This morning I have a meeting with the P..P and also say my goodbyes. His moving has left me very unsettled. Hopefully I will get som bulbs planted.

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.

I wonder how Kalu is. 💐
