Days when you’ve got nothing on

I sometimes think these are the best days. Excluding family get togethers, of course. It is such a luxury to have a whole day spread out with no social events ,no appointments, no pressing things you have to do. I must be getting b. old because I appreciate these days more and more ( and I sleep better the night before, too !) Do others have this feeling or am I just becoming weird in my old age ?

I actually said that to my GD, MissAdventure, that I’d better be sure to keep my kidneys warm. grin

Findingnemo you’re right about the weekends though for me it’s mornings rather than evenings. Hope you’re ok.

Like you Maw I’d give anything to have my busy life with my beloved back. The time alone is so depressing for me. Early days I expect I’ll get used to it but at the moment it’s bl**dy awful.

So sorry flowers. It's not the same, but after my divorce many years ago I eventually found I really liked time on my own - providing I got out and socialised at least twice a week. But not the same thing. These days, it takes me so long to achieve anything, I forget what I was trying to achieve in the first place! Due to mobility and other painful things. So going out to a cafe every couple of weeks is a highlight. It's frustrating not being able to get on with little jobs I'd like to get on with. Or even keep on top of the washing! The others help with that a bit but I won't let OH deal with my clothes ha ha.

Thanks Doodle. As others have said sometimes I do not see or speak to anyone for days on end. It is very depressing and boring.

Most women I know have their families and I find some groups are well established with no room for a new face.

I wouldn't call them the 'best' days because I do so enjoy my somewhat hectic social life but I do know what you mean. A day to lie in, catch up with chores, go for a riverside walk, work in the garden or just the very joy of having these options is bliss for me. Lucky girl indeed, that's me.
