* Nanicky. Sorry.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 30-Nov-24 12:24:44

Yes sometimes it just helps Nicnicky to know one is not alone.

Annypop Sat 30-Nov-24 11:43:46

I too heard about that music shop closing in Newcastle's historic arcade harrigran. How sad.
You must feel so proud of your musical GD. What a talent she must have.
Many years ago my DD2 was a member of a youth theatre group in Durham. Her biggest role was Mary Magdelen in J C S. I cried whenever she sang.

Good morning all from a mild and sunny at times Black Country. Can I just say how I love reading all your posts, I get such inspiration from all of you. I've got a few difficult things going on ATM, and knowing others go through similar things, helps me know it's not just me. Warm wishes to all of you on this last day of November... Let the December madness begin.😩😂❤️

Kalu Sat 30-Nov-24 11:13:11

Good morning all. It feels milder here in. Glasgow.

I first woke at 4.30 in pain. More symptoms to add to sciatica, the pain has now radiated to my shoulder and arm, (brachialgia), took 2 cocodamol and thankfully went back to sleep until 9.30. The best remedy is to stay active so I will spend lots of time in the garden. My go to therapy place which helps keep my mind off places and thoughts I would rather not visit.

Thank you Taichinan yesterday turned out to be more difficult than I had anticipated.

Happy Birthday to your GS brook
bella NHS supplied us with a nebuliser but I noticed them for sale on Amazon.
Hoping your purse turns up Grammaretto

Have a good day all

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Enjoyed art group yesterday and drew a gnome for more Christmas cards.
Off to local symphony orchestra tonight in nearby church. Will wrap up.
Might pop my Christmas tree on a table. It’s in a black bin liner with ornaments on, might just slide it out as it is and tidy it up😁.
Thoughts to all🌺

cornergran Himself had an episode of TGA 5 years ago. He was so confused and kept asking me the same questions over and over and got quite cross when I tried to put him straight! “No, no, it’s never been that!” etc. I was worried so I covertly recorded him in case I needed to show a medic. It lasted about 40 minutes. We’ve laughed over it since if we ever play it! Apparently if no one is with a person experiencing a GTA they just carry on activities as normal, even driving a car safely. I read up on it extensively. We never went to see a doctor (we were in Málaga at the time) and I was hugely reassured to read up on the condition - that in the vast majority of cases they’re a ‘one off’.

Stilllearning Sat 30-Nov-24 09:59:45

Sorry Kalu, I meant to say I was thinking about you yesterday, yet another challenge. I hope today is a little better.

harrigran Sat 30-Nov-24 09:26:00

Good morning from a mild and dry NE.
DS came yesterday evening and took me to GD's school for the final performance of Chicago. It was amazing, the girls who played Roxy and Velma were brilliant singers and great dancers. Only year nine and above were able to audition for this show as it was considered a tad risqué.
Looking forward to the Christmas concert where GD is singing in the choir, playing in the orchestra and is the singer in the rock band. I really don't know how she does it all.
DS and GD are coming this afternoon and I will be treated to a music session again with her on Piano and DS on his mandolin or banjo.
We had sad news yesterday, the music shop in Newcastle has had to close, they can no longer compete with online stores. For fifty years we have even buying instruments and sheet music there.
Have a good weekend.

Happy St. Andrew's Day to all Scottish Grandparents.

Taichinan Sat 30-Nov-24 08:45:13

Good morning all from a bright grey Angus coast. The sun is up, but hidden by the cloud cover.
A hard day yesterday for you Kalu flowers but I'm sure one filled with so many happy memories
Glad you had such an interesting day in London grandmattie but I'm not surprised your body demanded rest yesterday!
Marydoll I hope you feel better today and Bellasnana that your cold soon disappears.
I had an unproductive shopping day yesterday. I'm finding it harder and harder to find gifts for everyone with each passing year. I did find some lovely cards though, so writing them is this weekend's job.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy this milder weather. According to my weather app we'll be hitting the minuses again next week!

Stilllearning Sat 30-Nov-24 08:44:28

Morning from South Lanarkshire. I think it mustn’t be too cold outside because the heating hasn’t come on and it’s chilly inside. I woke up earlier feeling cold too.

Two blissfully empty days lie ahead, lots to do and I hope I do it!. Unexpected visit to audiology yesterday and I’ve been given a further appointment on Tuesday for a further check. I hope this isn’t another step down!

I hope and am sure you’ll have a marvellous weekend brook

I’m going to have a further snooze now my tea has heated me up so will wish everyone a good day. Enjoy your time with your sister Mick

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 30-Nov-24 08:41:57

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny south Manchester. Alexa tells me it’s 9°C at present, 13°C later. We are babysitting from mid afternoon. Our youngest daughter and her husband fancy getting on the train from here into Manchester and having a wander, calling in at a couple of bars and have reserved a table somewhere for 7pm. They like to get home just as the Looney Tunes are gathering. I don’t blame them.

Greyduster Sat 30-Nov-24 08:39:16

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I’m very late this morning having slept a straight ten hours!! All on one side by if the feel of my arm and hip are anything to go by. A misty start but the sun is coming out now. DS is coming down today and he’s taking me out to lunch. I’ve booked one of our local pubs that he likes. While he’s here I shall ask him to go into the loft and bring down my Christmas tree and attendant paraphernalia. It can then sit in the conservatory until I feel like putting it up.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Blossoming Sat 30-Nov-24 08:38:59

Good morning from Lancashire. The sun is shining at the moment and it feels warmer. Have a good weekend everyone. 🌹

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 30-Nov-24 08:31:54

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.

I will spent most of today wrapping all the presents I’ve bought - not the ones for Australia as they’ve already been posted! I also have a little WI admin to do. Oh, and Christmas cards to sort out. I have the cards, but need to print off the labels… and start the Christmas letters.

I think OH will clean the conservatory gutters today, but we’ll see.

Have a good day.

GrannySomerset Sat 30-Nov-24 08:31:35

An empty day ahead but as I am still battling something I don’t really mind. I have plenty to read and could, if really desperate, start on the Christmas cards. Lots of activity planned by less idle posters so hope everyone’s plans work out.

Jaxjacky Sat 30-Nov-24 08:22:39

Morning, damp in S Hants.
Oh no Grammaretto what a darned nuisance, 🤞it appears.
Happy Birthday to your grandson brook 🥳
Yesterday I gave the spare bedrooms a clean and aired beds, grandchildren here in a couple of weeks.
How odd with your leg Ashcombe hopefully just a glitch.
May those coughs/colds disappear soon for those poorly, nasty bugs about, pleased you’re sleeping better Gbatty
Newspaper and football later, slow cooker here too, chicken and veg.
All the children have their advent calendars, mine is poised for tomorrow 🎄

Good morning and happy St Andrew's Day to all Scottish grans.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Bella, we had our own nebuliser, (still do), is it possible to have one at home for your wee grandson?
As I've previously mentioned, it saved a lot of hospital visits and admissions. It is awful watching a child struggling to breathe.

Yesterday was a day of doing very little, I'm still out of sorts. However, not one, but two visits from my beloved Dollie kept my spirits up.

Wishing you all a very pleasant day. I've noticed Auntieflo hasn't been about, I hope she isn't struggling too much.💐

cornergran Sat 30-Nov-24 08:15:23

Morning Mick, Morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Had some surprising, excellent news from our friend yesterday. A long chat with a consultant and her diagnosis has changed. Not a stroke, not a TIA rather TGA which translates as Transient Global Amnesia. After much reassurance it’s unlikely to occur again she was as you can imagine delighted if somewhat mystified. There was much relief here too.

I was pleased to have a call offering me a before Christmas appointment with the rheumatology consultant specialising in Lupus. It will be good to have his opinion.

Christmas decoration sorting here today. It feels early but with friends coming to stay for five days next weekend and a full week ahead it’s sort of now or never.

Go gently everyone. Have the best day you can.

Annypop Sat 30-Nov-24 08:13:04

Happy St Andrew's Day and get well soon Bellasnana.

grandMattie Sat 30-Nov-24 08:08:34

Happy St. Andrew's Day to all our Scottish GMmers. (I remembered yesterday! :-) )

Annypop Sat 30-Nov-24 08:07:14

Good morning from County Durham.
Holly hunting yesterday was the hardest we've ever experienced regarding berries. We found very few, so will unfortunately need to add some artificial ones for a blast of colour to the wreaths. However, we did notice gorse bushes in bloom, very odd for this time of year in the North East.
I completed seven wreaths yesterday, that need just a little tweaking, with cones, ribbons etc. One more to go and then I'm done.
GD2 was thrilled with her chocolate fountain too. Her birthday excitement flowed like the chocolate all evening, and she became a very tired young lady when bedtime came around.
Today the decorations will come down from the loft. A good sort with possibly some decent items going off to a charity shop. The real tree will have to wait until after DD2 birthday celebration here as we won't have the space. How I love that pine scent.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a dull but less chilly Suffolk. I forgot to charge my iPad last night so wil read your posts later when I have a black rather than red battery icon.

I thought I might finish tidying the border along the side of the house yesterday but didn’t so that’s a job for today. I always know that autumn is over when I pull up the Michelmmas daisies.

Apart from a trip to our nearest town to post our in laws card to Australia and buy a little extra birthday present for DGD4’s birthday, nothing else must be done.

GingsterI hope you’re having a great time with your son and family and all have the best day possible.
