No news of any interest from me but just popped on to hope that FGT and Himself have a good outcome tomorrow.
Best wishes to all- NNGB x

Soop’s always open and very welcoming kitchen.
(1001 Posts)As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.
Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.
A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.
jaxjacky tasty sausages for a bbq when it gets a bit warmer. I started off with one white and one purple hellebore on one side of my garden and over the years they have spread down the same side of the garden. Purple predominately now and they won’t grow anywhere else in the garden, despite my moving some a bit further towards the back fence. Now I just leave them where they are!
We did win! Some hog sausages, locally made, frozen for a bbq another time.
I do wish we had photos back - Redcar I was given three, one is white, one purply, one also purple and sort of orchid like.
Be thinking about you both tomorrow fgt, hope the news is good.
Very wet and windy here now.Just returned from a meal in our local Pub/restaurant.It was excellent although DS2 came home and had more ice cream!!Funeral tomorrow not looking forward to it but will be good for D.I.L to finally move on.
Will be thinking of you both tomorrow FGT but, feel in my ❤️all will be well.
Kind thoughts to you all.
Hello everyone in the kitchen. It’s windy here and the rain has reached us (I think). It was quite bright this morning, DD2 called in and we went for a walk, she adjusted her normal walking speed to my slow shuffle. Interesting that I didn’t notice my back ache as we were talking.
After she’d gone, I batched cooked some mince and onions as a base for cottage pie or chilli. Had a cottage pie this evening and froze the rest.
fgt I hope you get good news tomorrow, I’ll be thinking of you.
jax I hope you were successful in the meat draw. I’ve got quite a few hellebores in the garden, plainly pink and purple, but there’s one white one with purple spots near the base of the flower near the stem. It’s very pretty, but the flower is facing down at the ground.
Sad time for you grandmabatty, but good that your mum is being well cared for.
soop I think that a face to face appointment will be more helpful for you, rather than risking a poor computer connection or a failure with the sound system. You’ll enjoy your lunch afterwards!
Will be thinking of you tomorrow FGT and everything crossed for good news x
Will have you in my thoughts tomorrow, FGT, hoping for positive news.
‘Evening All’.
A lovely meal this afternoon with my stepfather helped keep my mind occupied away from tomorrow’s scan result. He told us a teenage relative has been signed up by Buckie Thistle ⚽️ Club (Jags). He was obviously rightly proud of the lad. Also Ross County beat Dundee yesterday so they’re now halfway up the league table!
This time tomorrow we will know what the 3 monthly scan done last week, says. I’m apprehensive right now as you can all imagine. A flip of a coin yet will mean so very much to us.
I’m off to read by Kindle to take my mind off things. x
Grandmabatty ❤️
Good luck in the meat draw Jax and enjoy your evening, sounds like your future DiL is doing a great job. How lovely to have a family weekend to look forward to for your birthday - We’re also away next weekend to DD1s in Cambridge, my youngest DGS will be 8 so we’re also having a family get together
Grandmabatty💐
Sad Grandmabatty she seems to be pain free, warm and monitored which is good.
Temperature just right Grandmadinosaur have a lovely evening.
Good decision by your daughter brook distraction has definite benefits.
The rain is now here with a chilly wind, I just got a walk in, it was spitting near the end, it’s also quite dull, we’re off to meat draw later. I’m pleased our local is doing so well (particularly as soon to be daughter in law is running it) but because it’s now very busy we don’t often win!
Roast chicken for dinner, I’m looking ahead to the first bbq of the year, hopefully Easter time.
We’re away en famille next weekend for my birthday, everyone (apart from us) is always so busy, it’s great to get together, but tricky to arrange.
Good decision Soop. Face to face is better. Brook it's good to hear that your dd is making tiny steps forward.
I'm just back from visiting mum. She slept the entire time. I had a chat with the nurse who confirmed that she's no longer taking antibiotics for a chest infection. She has refused to take them. However her chest isn't crackly nor is she coughing. I think her body is shutting down. She hasn't eaten for a month apart from an occasional chocolate. She drinks a tiny amount each day. It's not a surprise to be honest.
Decision made soop well done. Like you say you can make a day of it and look forward to a delicious lunch together after the appointment. I hope you get the best possible outcome x
Nannytopsy you have my respect.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s wild and windy here in Inverness. Our plans changed when DD2 messaged this morning asking if we could watch the DGC whilst she went to the gym. Of course we said yes and went over to hers for a couple of hours. I’m really pleased she’s started doing something for herself, apart from the physical benefits hopefully it’ll keep her spirits up and distract her from the ongoing never ending house sale saga.
Almost there nannytopsy, the end is in sight!
Welcome home catterygirl, sounds interesting and I didn’t realise there was snow in Turkey ⛄️
Enjoy the last evening of your family holiday grandmadinosaur it sounds lovely, I really like Palma too.
Catterygirl Welcome home. The high winds hereabouts have calmed down a wee bit. There are some heavy breakers crashing along the shoreline.
A local lady happened across a beached, deceased whale on the shore at Skipness, a village a good few miles from here. She took photos of the beautiful creature. It's skin was smothered in barnacles.
Although we now have Skype, we have decided to attend the surgeon's clinic in person. Whatever he suggests will have to be the end of the matter. If it's a "no" then I shall just have to accept that the risk of further surgery is too great. If he can repair the hernia, I shall probably shed a good many tears of relief. He knows best. After the appointment, we'll treat ourselves to a lovely lunch. Make a day of things. After all, the computer could malfunction and we would be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
We are looking to book a break away with family Grandmadinasaur we have had a few weekends and have really enjoyed them.
Soop hope your computer behaves itself .
You are getting there Nannytopsy.
Granmarie glad to hear tea party went well.
Thinking of all poorlies and those with a heavy load on their shoulders.
Just popping in to say hello to all you lovely kitchen people. I’ve just returned home from Sakarya in Turkey. A month of in-laws one after the other, none of them Turkish. It’s snowing heavily there now and it’s so good to be home on my Sealy posturepedic bed with spring like weather. People tend to think of Turkey as a hot country but my main experience has been snow. My first visit was to the capital Ankara in 1965 with my parents driving back to the UK from Kuwait. We ran to a market to buy coats. I’m too old to tolerate the cold weather there anymore. I know it’s warm down south in summer but that’s another story.
That sounds delightful Grandmadinosaur. I don’t think it will be too long before I book something!
Washing is coming along - 3 more loads, I estimate. Our machine adds on time if it senses a heavy load. Despite weighing the loads, some have taken
3 1/2 hours instead of 90 minutes. 🤬
I should finish tomorrow.
Good evening everyone from the quiet corner.
We are on the penultimate evening of our family holiday in Majorca and have just said bon voyage to our family who return home to
tomorrow. We’ve had a lovely meal together followed by cocktails in a very quirky bar in Palma itself. My heart is full. Isn’t family what it’s all about? The weather has been mild and sunny with temps of 17-21 degrees. Suits me. We have had a spot of rain this evening as we were leaving. Still warm though. So one more day for us and an easy relaxing day tomorrow, There are a lot of activities on as it is festival season starting so will be interesting to see.
I’m away to read my book before the land of nod.
Night night all.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Glad to hear that MrSoop sorted your sound problems, hope his 'turban' helps his scalp to heal.
Well done, Grandmabatty, on the guardianship, such a long time. Happy 6th birthday to your DGS1!
Thank you, brook, my sister's tea party was a great success, despite a power cut earlier in the day!
Enjoy your hellebores, Jaxjacky, I've got some in pots, a very old pinky purple one which came from the garden of our last house over 40 years ago, and two small white ones which came from lidl a couple of years ago. They all flowered for Christmas, we've always called them Christmas roses, they're still flowering now. I put some primulae in pots today, nice splash of colour.
YiaYia, your smoked salmon dinner gave me a notion so I've made a tub of smoked salmon pate to enjoy with crackers watching this evening's TV. A favourite snack!📺
Nannytopsy, have you finished all your washing now? 🤣
FGT, 💕, thinking of you both.
Our usual Friday afternoon with the Wee Boy, pizza night with the family, nice catch up.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday evening and a good night's sleep. Kind thoughts to all in the quiet corner, and all with worries, illness or sorrow. TOYA.
No Nannytopsy not available for now, apparently an incident on Mumsnet were something unsavoury was posted that the software didn’t pick up. Hopefully being fixed.
No tumble drier here Redcar bedding will dry by tomorrow indoors
Have I missed something? Are photos banned now?
Hello everyone. Sunny afternoon here after a grey morning, but DD1 and family were here so I didn’t venture into the garden. It would have been too wet to do anything anyway and I don’t want to slip over.
I’m really missing all the photos of holidays and especially all the birthday cakes! They sound very creative and no doubt look and taste delicious.
Changed the bedding this morning, washed and dried it (god bless the tumble drier). I thought about turning the mattress round, but thought better of it and washed the mattress cover instead! The tumble drier hasn’t dried the mattress cover properly so i’ll have to try and drape it over the clothes airer in the morning. No doubt I’ll struggle with it and the air will turn blue!
Have a peaceful evening everyone.
