Can we get rid of the nasty adverts?
Good Morning Tuesday 19th May 2026
Question About a 1948 Sunbeam Mixmaster Lemon Pie Recipe
As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.
Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.
A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.
sueD I’m sorry to hear your sad news. Thinking of you.
SueD a sad day for you, I’m so sorry to hear this. Difficult days ahead too, my thoughts are with you 🌹
So sorry, SueD, to hear your sad & worrying news, my thoughts are with you & your family.
SueD sending my condolences, I hope they can keep your brother comfortable 💐
Dear Brook and Sue, such sad news. I wish that us lot could do something constructive to help. You have our love. May it please of some comfort to you.
Mr Soop had an on-line discussion with the Glasgow hospital nurse earlier today. She was able to see his scalp but he couldn't hear her comments as the local surgery's computer was playing silly b's. It appears, through sign language, that there are a few areas that will continue to be closely monitored. We continue to look on the positive side. It's what we do.
I'm about to ride the bike to no place in particular. I'm told that it is a good thing to do.
No place in particular can be very nice at this time of year, enjoy!
It`s a beautiful sunny day, I wish I had your views Soop.
‘Evening All’.
Such sadness in the kitchen tonight. 💐
SueD, I'm so sorry to read your sad family news. 68 is no age at all, poor lady. I hope your dear brother is comfortable and peaceful. A sad time for you and yours. 💐🙏🕯 Thinking of you all, sending love and prayers.
YiaYia, hope things went well for your DGS.🤞
Grandmabatty, you'll be worth your weight in gold to that wee school! I'm sure they appreciate your expertise, and your delicious baking.
I still miss teaching. I taught more or less continuously from 1978 until Lockdown as I did long term supply after I retired. Last night I dreamt that I was back in Primary One, but strangely enough, DH was there too... I've no idea what that signifies!🤣
Hope MrSoop can be helped, Soop. I admire your dedication to your exercise routine, well done you!
Redcar, how sad for your dear friend. I'm sure she appreciates your visits at some level, even if she doesn't respond much.
It's a good job we don't know what's in front of us.
I've been out most of the day. Picked up my friend for Mass and Ashes, church was full, then Coffee Morning, there were 10 people around our usual table! It's normally between 6 and 8. This afternoon I had my hair and nails appointments.
Salmon, new potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli for dinner.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday, especially those in the quiet corner. TOYA.
Brook so sorry to hear about your SIL. Sending my condolences 💐
SueD so sorry to hear such sad news about your brother and your DDs MIL.
Sending (((hugs))) to our kitchen friends.
The 10yr old is here, his year group at school have been into London to see The Lion King, he is tired but happy.
Some of the mums airtag their children, I think when The Imp goes in his next school trip, he will definitely be tagged 😹😹
Hi kitchen pals, hope everyone is doing ok
Mr Soop hope the scalp is slowly improving
I’ve had a busy day, I was at the gym this morning and then walked back into town by the river for a bit of shopping. Nothing much in TKMaxx and then I couldn’t find anything in the M&S sale but had a good look. I had a coffee, got the bus home and then flopped on the sofa for the evening
Thank you all for your kind thoughts about my sister in law, I’ve just spoken to my brother, the church he’d like for the memorial service can’t accommodate him until after Easter so thats going to be a bit later than he’d planned. At least we can think about our travel plans now and get things booked
Dinner sounds good grannmarie enjoy! We’ve just made simple broccoli and cheese soup with a swirl of cream - delish
So sorry to hear your sad news SueD 🌷
Dinner sounds lovely Grannmarie hope you enjoyed it.
Thank you for all your kind messages. I feel hugged to know I have such lovely friends in the Kitchen.
Sending my love to you all. Xxx
Jax today is the day we go back to low carbs, before I see the hip surgeon at the end of the month. He was very sniffy about weight when I spoke to him in September.
Brook & SueD I am sorry you have both had such sad news. My big brother has now been diagnosed with bowel cancer and is waiting to hear if surgery can take place. He has lots of other ailments and has been ill for several years now.
On a brighter note, Suffolk is beautiful today and our garden is looking a bit tidier after I cut the grass yesterday. It doesn’t deserve the name lawn!
Hope everyone has something to make them smile today.
Our littlest DGS (2 1/2) announced that when he grows up he wants to be a doctor. Or a reindeer.
I'm going to have work backwards with all that's happened as I've been other wise engaged since last Tuesday. My friend of over 50 years has been bereaved but it's very complicated...she wasn't married to him...she and he were both married to other people ( she still is).
They had been 'friends' for over 17 years. Her step sister and I wished many times that she would be able to see the wood through the trees about him.
Her step sister was very voluable about her feelings about their relationship and made it quite clear that she thought she was wasting her life on someone who was never going to leave his wife ( I must admit I felt he had the best of both worlds!!!!).
But she has a very sheltered upbringing...married the first man who paid her any attention and had low self worth until she met C. He had quite a past shall we say and to a certain extent played on her vulnerability and nativity and now 17 years on she is bereft.
The funeral is close friends and family only ( she was planning to go with her husband....he has known about the affair for many years).
I have persuaded her to remember him as she saw him last and not see him at the chapel of rest after the ravages of cancer had taken the toll.
I've found the whole situation very uncomfortable for years if I'm honest but she has been a good kind friend to me over the years especially when I was unwell mentally after my husband left. I've taken her out and about and cooked food and poured wine and gin a plenty and am hoping she will be ok now she returned home to her ' new life'
Thank you for letting me offload especially when there are so many more important things happening in the kitchen.
Neine 💐x
It’s hard to see a friend struggle, Neine whatever the circumstances.
nannytopsy so sorry to hear about your big brother and hope something can be done for him.
neine I’m sure your friend will be glad of your support.
It’s a beautiful day here in Essex and I can hear a lawnmower going! I’m hoping my friend with a petrol mower will cut my grass soon, it’s too long for my little battery mower at the moment. I may try and trim the edges when I’ve had my coffee, but my back isn’t happy today so I may not do much.
Sorry to hear about your brother nannytopsy I hope something can be done to help him. I love the Doctor / Reindeer quote!
Sad news about your friend neine 💐
What’s all this talk about beautiful days and sunshine ?? I’ve not seen any sun at all since Monday morning when we left Cambridge - please send it up here if you can 😎
Good evening Kitcheners. Brook it's been sunny and mild here in central Scotland today. I fear it won't last though.
I read a story to the infants classes today in honour of World Book Day. I really enjoyed myself and my teaching skills clicked right back in. I'm used to teenagers and having a class of five year olds was different. They were just lovely!
I hope everyone is ok and enjoy your evening ahead. Take care
Aww that’s good grandmabatty so pleased the book reading went well, the school is lucky to have you
Sad news Nannytopsy I’m sorry to hear that 🌹
Yesterday the day whizzed past, garden bits, the library and coffee with a friend.
Today was stretch class, the dishwasher packed up yesterday, a man came today and fixed it, £60 bargain, next is sorting out cleaning and sealing the patio.
Daughter and Imogen here, Fin is at football training.
Have a good evening all
Another evening in the kitchen and more sorrow 🌸
A rather lazy day, pottering around inside without the aircast on.
(((Hugs))) dear virtual friends 😘
