I totally agree. All of us, would like people to remember us looking at our best, not vulnerable and ravaged by illness. She was a proud, loud, northern lady, full of glamour she would absolutely hate this picture to be plastered all over the news and social media.
I do NOT agree for one second that it served to 'raise the awareness of dementia'.......how would anyone want to a/ be reminded that this is how a loved one 'might' look in the future, and b/ you must be living under a rock if you don't 'know' what dementia is by now. There is NO justification whatsoever for the picture.
Bizarrely, he supposedly did 'delete' the picture because of a backlash, however, the media simply used the same picture all over again, with the 'backlash' headline.
No true loving family or relatives would have agreed to this, and HE would have received a substantial payment for it, it's click bait for the newspaper. Disgraceful.
