A boring day thread

There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

Lovely dull day ahead. Food shopping, will he/won't he son turn up for lunch. He sometimes does and sometimes doesn't. Ooh the suspense! I'll probably go right ahead and do a big washing this afternoon while I enjoy a festival if TV and rich fruit cake.

Waiting in for the plumber to call round.

Quite boring tbh.

Allira Tue 22-Apr-25 11:26:08

I should do something useful.

Mollygo Tue 22-Apr-25 11:35:36

I’m walking the dog through a muddy wood and we’ve got mussels for lunch.
Does that count as boring?

Allira Tue 22-Apr-25 11:36:07

No.

Three unexpected phone calls and an unexpected visitor.

Last night I found some large potatoes which had been put in the freezer by mistake, left them on the side and today they are in a pool of brown murky liquid. Cleared that up. Don't try this at home.

Lots of washing to do and then pack a small case for a 2 night stay, to visit Canterbury Cathedral. (4 hour trip may not seem long but for someone with IBS 😫). Imodium and Buscopan at the ready.

Just home from the allotment.
Left over veggie pasta for lunch.
Will probably fall asleep.

Aveline Tue 22-Apr-25 13:51:04

Oh no. Son didn't turn up for lunch. No apologies. Nothing. I have now consumed a large Lindt bunny as compensation. Feel pretty sick. 🤢

I'm bored and anxious waiting for estate agents to ring me back regarding properties I have asked to view.

Love this thread🤣 I’m sitting waiting for a delivery of new sandals, very ordinary ones with adjustable straps and instep support to suit my very wide flat feet!
Missing the sun but I know if I go outside in the back I will miss it as it takes me forever to get to the front door.
I have a pile of paperwork to sort out but GN is more interesting…

I hope it was his Easter bunny!

Some yarn arrived. No excuse not to carry on with the project now.

They were just revolting, Aldom. 🤮

Really nice potatoes, grown for me by Albert Bartlett himself.

I had a plan to go for a longer walk by stopping at one of the only two benches for a rest then carrying on.
My hips were starting to hurt and I was looking forward to the bench.
When I got there a man was sitting on the bench with his dog next to him. Unusual as it's usually free.
I chatted to him for a while and he showed no signs of moving so I had to head home. I knew I couldn't go any further as the arthritis wouldn't let me.
That's my boring morning explained.

Mollygo Tue 22-Apr-25 14:30:11

Cleaning my mud caked shoes whilst DH snores gently in his chair.

Aldom Tue 22-Apr-25 15:21:25

I like Albert Bartlett frozen chips Allira.
My son once mistook the freezer compartment of an American fridge for the refrigerator. He put the carrots in there. We were on holiday and it was Easter Sunday. So no carrots with Sunday lunch. shock

No knights slaying dragons around here today. ☹️

I'll look out for those, Aldom

Plenty of “knights” slaying patriotic tunes in our town centre yesterday afternoon' !
Had a dental checkup- all good 👍 then looked at M&S bras, …got annoyed with the hangers, gave up, vowed to email them about the bra chaos.
Returned one that didn’t fit properly.

Bought hot dog sausages, and big rolls, enjoyed the sunshine and a nice peaceful bus ride home once out of earshot of the pub “music” 🎶.
Admired purchases. Changed remote control batteries with new ones I remembered to buy ✔️

fried a chopped onion to accompany aforementioned, slathered artfully with both ketchup and squeezy mustard!

Consumed two greedily, and then fell asleep in front of the tv with sound on mute, waiting for next programme… curtains open, birds twittering in the twilight.
My kind of heaven☺️

Ps. Woke at 2 am briefly, slurped a cold drink snapped a bit off my Easter egg that caught my eye in the fridge. Went back to bed joined by the dog (who was obviously hoping it was a cheese treat)

£43 lighter after trip to vet for Peggy’s glands squeeze and nail clip.

I now need to do something with 500g of beef mince - the good stuff.
Meatballs?
Burgers?
Shepherds Pie for the freezer?

Decisions, decisions. 🤔

Allira Thu 24-Apr-25 12:26:18

Repotted some indoor plants which looked neglected and on their last legs.

Watered the African violets with Orchid fertiliser (that was the only thing to hand).
Will they survive or will they not survive, that is the question.

Hellogirl1 Thu 24-Apr-25 14:09:31

A boring question.........has anyone tried Bisto onion gravy granules?

Kate54 Thu 24-Apr-25 14:54:46

Great fan of gravy granules altogether - Bisto fine but so are supermarket own brands. Very hard to find my favourite genre, pork, but worth it.
