Busy day today. Optician in the morning. I expected him to say my glasses needed changing but they are fine. He said my eyesight seems to have improved since my last visit. He will now be booking me for an annual checkup instead of every two years due to the fact I am now diabetic.
Late afternoon I saw my Oncologist. I have a Neuroendocrine tumour of the small intestine which has spread to my lymph nodes and liver. Surprisingly, my tumours have grown a little since my last scan three months ago, having been quiet for a good while before. No need to do anything else yet except monitor them. I have to go back in another three months unless anything changes.
So, a bit of a day of ‘wait and see’. Came home and had a stiff drink! Surprisingly I feel quite well in spite of the issues. Long may that last!
On a happy note, my beloved granddaughter gave birth to my first great-grandchild yesterday. A gorgeous boy. We are all over the moon and besotted already. Mummy and baby doing well. Daddy still can’t believe he has a son and has a silly grin on his face, bless him!
So, like much in life, bad news and good news.
