A boring day thread

There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

My day is riveting, and I have a spare bedroom if anybody would like to join me. I am about to return my wheelie and small food bin to their rightful places, as they have been emptied.

This pm I may sit outside with a coffee and watch the weeds grow.

I knew you would be totally engrossed.

Caleo

I squirted the ketchup on to the plate before the fried egg and bread roll. Usually the ketchup goes on the top.

That's enough excitement for one day!!

I should carry on decluttering. There might be some very interesting treasures to be found at the backs of drawers and cupboards.

Piles of ironing, I've let it build, some cooking, trip to the gym to exercise, I don't enjoy it but mindful of 'use it or lose it'. Quick in and out of there when it's quiet. All interspersed by 'Escape to the Country' when I'll have a Hot Cross Bun, which constitutes the highlight of my day today, which should qualify in the boring stakes I would have thought.⁰

I read your post AnnieB, just wanted to add so glad you are happy in your new home, I don't think you were before. The surroundings of lovely gardens sound very nice.

I have washed my bedding and hung it to dry. Now I'm staring out the window at the clouds wondering whether to risk a walk. This may go on for some time.

Steady on there, don’t be too rash! grin

I don't really like ketchup.

Bet you all wanted to know that 🙂

Exciting news!!

I recently found my little wooden mustard spoon. Great joy. It's been lost for thirteen years.
Bet that snippet has relieved your boredom! grin

My turn to bore you all to tears! But really I am going to tell you of a great achievement. I was about to engage in a spot of floor washing when I found I had no cleaner for my scooshy mop. Normally I would shout 'Eureka' at this discovery, but today I decided to press on. My knees, at the age of 83 have a strong aversion to actually kneeling, so I engaged a tai chi squat called a don you and cleaned the floors by hand with a cloth!! I now have an aching back - but my knees are absolutely fine - and a feeling of smug satisfaction that will last me many days. Now how's that for boring?

Taichinan Mon 14-Apr-25 12:34:25

Congrats on the mustard spoon Aldon. And above 'don you' should read ^don yu ^>

JamesandJon33 Mon 14-Apr-25 13:14:29

Still doing amendments

Norah Mon 14-Apr-25 13:25:56

I finished my husband's weekly incomings and outgoings.

Truly boring, but someone must work out the numbers.

Only if you tell us where you found it Aldom! 😂

I'm at the hairdresser's waiting for my highlights to do their thing. I was a bit bored till I remembered that I had earphones with me and iPlayer on my phone. Now I can watch some progs my hubby isn't interested in. Win-win!!

Sr69 Mon 14-Apr-25 13:50:18

Done the washing, hoovered , kitchen cupboards sorted and wiped over. Now I’m painting the fencing in the garden and a break for a hot chocolate!!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 14-Apr-25 13:50:42

I feel I have come home
Aw Anniebach. 🥰

Pantglas2 Mon 14-Apr-25 13:51:09

I spent an awful lot of last week watching paint dry in my little summerhouse…does that count as boring? 🥱

Aldom Mon 14-Apr-25 14:03:23

FGT the mustard spoon was in the drawer of a tall, free standing unit in the kitchen. This drawer contains small (ish) kitchen utensils, the soft one uses infrequently.
I recently decided to weed out anything I no longer use.
Suddenly, there was my little spoon.
I was so rediculously happy to see it again after assuming it had been lost during the house move almost 14 years ago. I use my spoon regularly again. smile

Aldom Mon 14-Apr-25 14:04:30

Sort....not soft.

TiggyW Mon 14-Apr-25 14:06:09

Apologies to anyone who likes Facebook! 🤣

Caleo Mon 14-Apr-25 14:06:19

Aldom, where DID the mustard spoon go?

Caleo Mon 14-Apr-25 14:07:45

And how did the wee thing feel in itself when you found it?

Knittypamela Mon 14-Apr-25 14:08:16

I'm on the way to the charity shop to donate 4 kitchen stools, then to tesco to recycle my plastic bags and put something in the food bank.

TiggyW Mon 14-Apr-25 14:08:39

This is hilarious! 🤣

Charleygirl5 Mon 14-Apr-25 14:11:06

Pantglas good heavens no. It is on a par with me watching weeds grow and it may even surpass it. We are so lucky I think.

rafichagran Mon 14-Apr-25 14:11:58

Washing, cleaning and giving our bedroom special attention. A really boring day, but I am out tommorow and doing breakfast with a friend Wednesday.
