What has given you pleasure today? ( An anti-rant thread).

Yesterday I moved furniture, made walls good, and cut in a large room. Today I'll apply the primer, hopefully finish the paint at the weekend. Quite nice.

My husband, son and grandson played 9 holes of golf together, last of the very warm days for now.

Going to the dentist and finding I don’t need any treatment for a change.

Hearing this morning that my grandson has been elected onto his local council, for the Reform party.

What a horrible thing to do chicken, incidentally, there is a nasty finger wagging admonishment to you up thread alluding to your completely inoffensive post, so I guess we can draw our own conclusions on that. I think the pleasure the poster drew from glorious days such as these is to fire up their inner keyboard warrior and send vitriolic emails to people who appear to be enjoying themselves way too much, maybe it makes them happy. Don't let it upset you

Going to B&Q for bedding plants and finding that they have 20% off all bedding plants.

After attempting bed changing and some cleaning this morning I'm sitting outside listening to the birds which is giving me pleasure.

All I can say is ditto yet again!

Feeling a bit guilty because there is a nice man who is working hard weeding the garden whils I sit and listen to the birds, but DH has just gone to make him a cuppa and we will be paying him later 😀

My broken abscessed tooth has been finally removed after a failed extraction last July.
I chose not to have sedation, so saved some money.

There is nothing wrong with your OPchicken and this is a lovely thread. A few posters are real miseries and like to find something critical to say and as for sending you a pm….a cowardly way out. Put it out of your mind. You had a good experience.

Today my DD's dear little rescue cat finally plucked up enough courage to come and sit on my lap and she actually purred.

This thread seems to have gone a bit off piste courtesy of the wrecking crew. Lovely thread chicken and some lovely posts.

It's just a shame that some people had to try and spoil it. Sorry to hear about your nasty PM, quite uncalled for.

I have to rely on taxis these days and most of the drivers are really lovely. Today I needed urgent antibiotics and one of the women drivers volunteered to pick them up from the pharmacy 6 miles away and bring them to me, quite free of charge. (I insisted on paying!). People can be so kind.

The poppies are still there, just the flowers missing; I'm sure they will flower again 🙂

My fibre broadband was connected today, efficiently and with no fuss. I can't believe how easy it was, and what a lovely young man! Now any of the family who want to can visit and 'work from home' from mine. We are all spread around the country. It means they don't have to use precious family holiday time to come and see me, and when they're working I can carry on with my activities, enjoy cooking meals for someone and then enjoy their company in the evening. Win win.

I met with a friend and we sat in the lovely sunshine and had a good catch-up.

It has been a really chilled out kind of day.

Woke up early and took the dog out. Quiet, except for the birds and still fairly warm.
Now for breakfast.

Did a boot sale today, ahead of our downsizing, sold over half our stock by volume. Very satisfying.

I went to a celebration of VE day today and heard some excellent swing band music.
