While out in town today I had a brief sit down along with various other shoppers of all ages and races. An elderly man dropped a coin under the bench and a young African man leapt into action, ,crawling under the seat to retrieve it for him, then smiled broadly at us all and wished everyone a happy day before heading off. It really lifted my spirits.

My choir sang at the Gardener's Fair In our local town Market Place. People stopped to listen, joined jn, clapped along and donated to our charity.

Watching Jack Draper on television playing in the Madrid tennis final. It was a very good match even though he didn’t win.

Made delicious rice pudding and lovely brotchen.

I fixed the washing machine today!!!!!!

My husband used to do that but he is no longer here. But I had watched him and it must have sunk in somehow. It was only a loose pipe that flooded the kitchen but I am ridiculously pleased with myself that I did it.

Then I ate buttered crumpets to celebrate.

I finished a good book and watched a bit of snooker...

I forced myself to go swimming, as it was a bit cold, but am glad I did, it was an adult only session too! I managed 40 minutes, not bad for someone with an arthritic shoulder.

Seeing the sun shining, and flowers , early morning, bank holiday, soft music . No news on. That's happiness today for me.

Quiet morning. Made some soda bread. Street party this afternoon. Big jumper on though as it is a tad chilly

The aeroplanes for the VE Day royal flypast flying low over my house. They usually do but it never ceases to be exciting.

Putting the heating on, I was cold and am lucky I can, even rough it feels ‘wrong’ in May, particularly after last week’s warmth.

Sheila Hancock referring ( on the One Show ) to today’s government as ‘ lying Gits. I was surprised that the presenters weren’t told to apologise for her comment. In context it was quite amusing.

Seeing Zhao Xintong win the snooker world championship. What a talent from the new kid on the block.

On the BBC News app I came across "27 of the best looks from the MetGala 2025". It's very entertaining - the good, the bad and the ugly!

Nice man from British gas Chris has repaired central heating boiler after it flooded the kitchen late Sunday evening. We now have hot water again after just one day of boiling kettles I know I couldn't live off grid.

I had a trip to Loch Lomond, light traffic (it's often gridlocked), a delicious tapas lunch and the sun shone.
An excellent day!

Than goodness I previewed. I almost posted a photo of DD's new Ninja oven, which gave her pleasure today.🤣

Seeing one of the most reluctant members of my school reading group start to blossom as a reader. It gives me immense satisfaction.

Today I happened upon this little story of a job that went well.

It was originally on a radio station (that I found accidentally some time ago that’s really for tradespeople - builders and carpenters etc.) FixRadio.
Anyway - sometimes a job just works out beautifully…

Meeting up with two friends I used to work with more than 55 years ago. We meet up most months and never run out of conversation.

What is giving me pleasure right now is looking after my 3 year old granddaughter. We have been to a music class and now she finishing her lunch.

Right now for me it’s having just caught a bus instead of having just missed one. A very rare pleasure! smile
