Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. No chance of rain here until the weekend. Ashcombe good luck with your shopping trip. Bellasnana what a thing to happen! Was he at all sorry? My dgs1 would have been but dgs2 definitely not! Sar your poor granddaughter.
Yesterday the highlight was dd bringing me dinner - homemade Kung po curry - which was very nice. I read a lot and lay down in the afternoon for a siesta.
Today will be much of the same. Dinner will be out of the freezer and I will water the pots. Have a good day all

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
There's a power cut for an unknown reason so I shall stay in bed.

I did very little yesterday apart from filling the watering can from the kitchen tap and keeping the seedlings damp.

A friend whose DH died last week came to thank me for flowers and to talk about him and the funeral. It's very sad.

Later a couple called in for a cup of tea in my garden. He has had a stroke recently and she's recovering from a cancer operation. We managed a few laughs. honestly

Another sunny day beckons. An arboreal survey is to be carried out on my proposed building site today. There are only about 4 trees, none of them old, but nowadays permission is needed for everything.

I hope you get on alright at Lidl. Ash
I hope your DH is recovering well FGT
Poor Marydoll. Sending hugs.

Have a good day everyone whatever your plans.

Power has come back on!

A quick good morning from a cloudy Suffolk from where I’ll read your posts later. I have my monthly panel meeting in an hour or so and have to catch up before it starts with any last minute amendments made by other members.

I hope that Hinself had a comfortable night and will be home soon for FGT’sloving care.

Thinking of other posters not feeling their best and those with family worries.

Morning all from a drizzly West Oxfordshire. While I was in London yesterday (photo of giant knickerbocker glory on Soop’s page!) our gardener came and did a magnificent job of planting our fuschias and a sea holly.

It is the U3A lunch today which is at a venue we enjoyed previously. Then this evening it is WI where the speaker will talk about ‘words’.

I hope MaryD can feel better soon and not just look radiant! Also it would be lovely if Mr FGT2 can be back home today. All of you other GNs in difficult circumstances, I’m thinking of you too.

Good morning from a du ll Black Country, where I think we had a little rain overnight.

Asthma check went ok yesterday, weight, blood pressure all ok, nothing they could advise me on as I don't smoke and rarely drink.

Dentist at midday first of two appointments for a infill. Will cost just over £300! Will walk there and back as it's only 25 mins away.

Bellasnanna something similar happened to my friend last year, she had pressed the fob to lock the car, but the back door wasn't properly closed. Then it wouldn't close at all. We drove home with me in the back holding it shut. She decided to buy another car, as she was considering it anyway.

Wishing you all the best day possible. Hoping himself is recovering well FGT. Plus love to Marydoll

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but possibly will get some rain later on.

Washed the bedding yesterday, then an early lunch and out to our well-being walk. My friend very kindly came and picked me up to save me the trouble of getting the bus. To my surprise I managed the walk really well after my bad cough and cold, and friend said that I managed much better than usual. A cappuccino was very welcome afterwards.

Then home where I sat in the garden with the cats for an hour - they were happy just to sit in the sun and were most inactive!

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then I will have a late lunch/early dinner. DS-in-law is then coming to pick me up to go to theirs where DD is hosting our bi-monthly wine evening. Shall stay there over night and she will bring me home in the morning. I have a pile of stuff to take over, some little gifts and a photo from my recent cruise, and a load of books for a wine friend.

Again the FGT2s are in my thoughts; wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from another sunny day in the Algarve. Yesterday we picked up the car and got a bit lost but eventually arrived at our intended destination and had a walk and lunch in a small bar run by an English family.

Today we will walk to the marina, browse the shops and return to our apartment for lunch and relax the afternoon away with our books enjoying the warm sunshine and watching the golfers.

My thoughts are with the FGT’s and others struggling and hoping today will be a good/better day for all.

Good morning from wet Wiltshire!

DD2 and her family arrived on time in Lanzarote. She sent a lovely photo of DGD3 and DGS2 from the plane just as they’d sat down.

DH has a dental check today as he has a throbbing tooth. I will make a cheese soufflé for dinner. It sound complicated but is really easy. It does entail a great deal of washing up as I don’t put eggy dishes in the dishwasher as it leads to a sulphurous smell when it’s emptied.

I hope Himself had a comfortable night FGTs. Best wishes to you both. Your GD has had to contend with alot while taking her GCSE’s Sar. I hope her asthma improves. What a palaver you had with the car door Bella. GS2 used to delight in unstrapping himself from his car seat while the car was moving.

Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Good morning all from an overcast S E Essex, we have rain forecast for this afternoon and of course it will arrive at school pick-up time ☔️

We have a man in to service the filter on our rainwater harvesting tank first thing, then I must get out and buy some fresh veggies and milk.

I had a better nights sleep, I double dosed on the antibiotics as per doctor’s orders, they made me feel nauseous but with a willpower and distraction I managed to keep them down. So far so good with today’s dose 🤞🏻

Thinking of Sar53’s DGD and her exam, steroids despite being helpful come with a whole bunch of nasty add-ons

Marydoll listen to your body and go at the pace it dictates, as frustrating as it may be, rest is best 🌸

FGT2 I hope your man had a good night, free of pain and is ready to return to you today 😘

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

Ruined yesterday by scraping another car in the surgery car park - entirely my fault for thinking about something else and not concentrating and I am so cross with myself. Am now waiting to hear when my car will be collected for the damage to be attended to and realise how hard life will be without it. May have to tackle the mystery of supermarket delivery as I really can’t carry much from the village.

Meanwhile we have had some rain overnight which is more than welcome and the garden smells wonderful. Thinking of the FGTs and Marydoll especially and all those with problems.

Good morning from Corfu. Lovely day yesterday with a nice walk with DD, stunning views and the island is so green, beautiful blossoms everywhere.
The day before on the way back from Corfu town, we had a peek at the Durrells’ house and I might watch the tv series myself.

Delicious meal in the evening, Stifado and Greek salad.
Last day today and it’s gone very quickly.
Thoughts to FGTs, Ashcombe and all.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where there’s a fair amount of cloud but the sun is trying to shine through it.

Ash it’s another challenge, a step at a time.

Your DGD has such a lot to deal with Sar, I hope she does well.

Thinking of everyone coping with illness and worry today.

I didn’t go to my yarn group last night but spent the evening writing notes for a talk I’ve been asked to give at a training day for specialist nurses tomorrow. It has crept up on me and I hadn’t given it any thought.

Childminding afternoon for us so no early start today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Jaxjacky Wed 21-May-25 08:45:16

Morning from a damp S Hants, we’ve had what MrJ calls soft rain, more due 🤞
Unfortunately my back is playing up again, just when it had improved, so lunch out with a friend today will be cancelled until a later date.
Two kitchen cupboards tidied out yesterday, garden thoroughly watered, bedding washed and dried, today will be quiet, moving about gently.
I too hope himself had a peaceful night and is home with FGT today.
The very best to your granddaughter Sar she’s an absolute trooper to keep going.
I hope your shopping trip is easily achieved Ashcombe a hurdle overcome

Good morning from sunny north Manchester. I’m a rare visitor to the GM thread - isn’t it positive 🌞.
Easier day here as the Big Dog has a couple of hours with my trainer running with her pack. This means I can enjoy a leisurely, uncomplicated walk with that spaniel.
Sorry to read things are tough Marydoll. I had a brief flare up post covid but other than stiff painful wrists feeling more the thing. Hope you’re soon on the better side.
Very best to Mr FGT for his recovery and to Mrs FGT to keep well and look after herself as well
Have a good day everyone. I know we need water but I’m enjoying the warm sun

Susan56 Wed 21-May-25 09:25:51

Sorry to hear you bumped your car GrannySomerset.

We were without our car for a couple of weeks in March and managed an online shop which is something we don’t normally do.Also asked the pharmacy to deliver our prescriptions.

Ask friends for lifts if need be.We didn’t and got a telling off!You would offer help if the circumstances were reversed.

💐

Good morning from a rainy W Kent. Our journey home from Worcester was as easy as motorway driving can be and we feel it was a happy break, the other people in the group were chatty and we all got on, one gentleman was over 90 and another lady had a broken arm but we muddled along.
This morning off to small art group as I read a few will be missing, later I hope to catch up with a friend, I am going to ignore the ironing for now.
Good luck with the shop Ash no large bags of potatoes.
Good luck with the online shop GrannySomerset

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday I had a quiet day at home, MrB did the weekly shop. We enjoyed a walk across the bridge and down the woodland path after lunch, I’m getting quite nifty with the tri walker!

Good luck with the shopping trip Ashcombe. I haven’t ventured into a shop for a while, the nearest I’ve come to it is collecting my prescriptions from Morrisons pharmacy.

Marydoll hope things improve for you soon. My mood is very up and down at the moment but I’m still so very happy to be home. I get so frustrated at being unable to do things! How I miss the days when I could stroll across to the Marina, enjoy a coffee and a cake, and browse through the clothing rail!

I was so relieved to read the updates from FGT2 yesterday. I hope Himself is continuing to do well and will soon be back home.

GrannySomerset flowers. Don’t beat yourself up, it’s a pain in the proverbial but it can and will get sorted.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday 🌹♥️
