Two grinning adult sons of Trump, holding the body of what looks like a fully grown leopard, which they’d just killed. (In 2012)

I’d post the photo, but I think it’d be a breach of copyright.

Allira Fri 06-Jun-25 14:00:25

The family is arrogant with no shame.

Just disgusting.

Wyllow3 Fri 06-Jun-25 14:06:20

Another 😡😡 but no shock. Guns are part of their psyche in a way I hope we'll never have to deal with.

Ilovedogs22 Fri 06-Jun-25 14:12:34

Horrendous, what sort of people are they!! What possible pleasure could they derive from murdering a beautiful wild creature. So very sad. 😔

nanna8 Fri 06-Jun-25 14:16:33

I didn’t see it and I get the Times online everyday. Is it just in the hard copy ?

AGAA4 Fri 06-Jun-25 14:16:47

This makes me very sad and angry. The arrogance that they are able to take life which in my view is more valuable than their own.

Aveline Fri 06-Jun-25 14:17:14

Totally unacceptable! angry 😡😡

I’m shocked at how entitled and bad mannered children seem to be in the last 10 years. Groups of teenage school children seem very happy to push through doors whilst keeping adults waiting and parents are happy to let children sit on trains and buses whilst adults stand.
Children are also allowed to frequently interrupt adult conversations and the adults at the table are expected to stop their conversations and immediately turn their attention to the child.
When did this change? To me it’s a really bad sign that we are bringing up entitled children who believe that they’re more important than adults?

I think the photo was published as Saudia Arabia have just gifted the Smithsonian 2 Arabian leopards, which Trump is thrilled about. Apparently he has an interest in killer animals.

In our hard copy, yes.

Even over 20 years ago, on a safari hol in Kenya, we counted ourselves very lucky to see a leopard. They were by no means a common sight.

Churchview Fri 06-Jun-25 15:07:07

There are photos of them with 'trophies' of their hunting all over the internet. Vile human beings.

BlueBelle Fri 06-Jun-25 15:18:09

Hideous totally hideous although I don’t agree with our Royals shooting poor birds out the sky either

pably15 Fri 06-Jun-25 15:38:25

what gives them the right to even think they can kill ,they are privilaged arrogant sub humans...these beautiful animals have every right to live.

Jaxjacky Fri 06-Jun-25 15:55:51

Not only the Royals BlueBelle and at least the birds are eaten.

Churchview Fri 06-Jun-25 16:12:14

Only a percentage of game birds are eaten - about half of those shot are taken by game dealers. A good percentage of game birds are not shot but die from other means.

About 50 million game birds are factory farmed and then released into the wild every year. These non native birds, who have not been raised in the wild are immediately left to fend for themselves. A good percentage are killed on roads or by foxes.

To protect the birds gamekeepers snare, poison and trap wild animals and birds. Hares, badgers, foxes and sometimes domestic pets are caught in the snares.

The lead shot used in shooting gets into the ecosystem killing further wildlife.

It's a horrible, wasteful, cruel business - often backed by taxpayer money in the form of subsidies.

royals do that all the time and any trmp should been in a cage

JenniferEccles Fri 06-Jun-25 22:39:24

I wonder why this story has been resurrected by The Times . It happened in 2012.

i don’t know much about game hunting so I’ve looked it up.
Apparently it is necessary at times to cull certain species, if, for example their numbers have increased to the point that they impact on livestock which support poor African communities.
Then of course there is the danger of these big cats to humans.

I’ve no idea whether Trump’s sons were on an organised shoot or not as I haven’t read the Times article, but after all the condemnation I wanted to suggest an alternative explanation.

Allira Fri 06-Jun-25 23:14:25

Not to mention the danger of humans to big cats.

How about we cull humans and leave the big cat numbers to recover?

nanna8 Sat 07-Jun-25 00:29:50

Not a bad idea but not politically correct Allira😀

BlueBelle Sat 07-Jun-25 06:45:51

I believe the birds the Royals shoot out the sky are bred especially to be killed what kind of ‘leader’ of a country is that
and have the cheek to call it sport’ !!!!
Trump and his family are disgusting and everything I abhor, as I do any animal killer including the awful Jeremy Clarkson man and his badger killing.
Killing an animal is NEVER a sport or an entertainment now
I m thinking of Spanish bullfighting
All hideous
Humans are SO cruel

Allsorts Sat 07-Jun-25 07:21:25

I can understand the need to cull everone that lives off the land can. To kill for sport vile. If I had to kill anything to survive I couldn't. There has always been people, mainly men who think killing animals for sport is fun. Under cover here, dogs are still used in dog fighting. People found guilty of it should face the strongest penalty possible, hit their pockets and show their faces, make them do community work.

They cull deer on Exmoor.

Two or three times a week a group of men and women (often more women than men) dress up to the nines and ride out on horses, pursue deer across country with dogs (it's still possible to hunt with two dogs) and then, sometimes after hours of chase, they shoot the deer when it is totally run into the ground.

Then they sound a horn in celebration. The hunt is a club set up entirely for this purpose.

This isn't a cull - it's sport. All entirely legal

Oh dear!!

Those in charge do keep trying though.
Wars, famine, plagues.

Do they then eat the venison?
