In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

Dear Yia, not much help to you to be told so little
A break away will be good for you both and especially if your family can visit.
The kitchen is a place of “wait and see” presently.
I was so tired after my evening meal, I came to bed very early, of course I fell asleep straight away and am now awake after a couple of hours.
I expect I shall drop off again about 5am, par for the course now.

FGT sorry I missed your birthday yesterday. Just wanted to say I'm glad you had your husband home with you. What a lovely surprise. flowers
I felt wobbly most of yesterday. In bed by 8.30pm but a very disturbed night. Up at 5am. Too much on my mind with the house move and my family moving away tomorrow.
Kind thoughts to all who read Soops kitchen.

Grandmabatty Thu 28-Aug-25 08:05:00

FGT I'm so happy for you both that himself is home.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 28-Aug-25 08:10:32

cornergran we are thinking of going away when the entire downstairs floor is pulled up.

Our insurance company offered to pay rent on temporary accommodation, but we decided to stay rather than pack up the entire house (it is rather big) and then return.

They will pay our costs of going away, up to business class flights, cannot wangle first class 😹

luluaugust Thu 28-Aug-25 08:34:10

FGT so pleased to hear you have himself home with you and belated birthday wishes

Grannydaisy1 Thu 28-Aug-25 08:40:28

Belated Birthday wishes Fgt and pleased you can share some special quiet time at home with Himself.
It is also good to her from you Baggs that soop has some nice family time to look forward to. Simple pleasures are often the best.
Thoughts to all coping with illness and worries. 🦋

GrannySomerset Thu 28-Aug-25 12:22:34

Hadn’t caught up with FGT’s important news but glad that her dear man can come home. Hope all the necessary support is in place.

Blossoming I was thinking of you when we visited Lytham one of our favourite places hope the break helps you sort things.
SueD sending best wishes to you and family.
To all needing ((hugs))) I am sending plenty.

Jaxjacky Thu 28-Aug-25 20:40:08

Lovely Yia your favourite place and family as a bonus, good decision.
Blossoming may your decisions bring you both some comfort, difficult as they may be x
I hope others struggling, who can, may get a short break too.
We’ve had more heavy showers today, definitely cooler, we need a good week of sustained rain - sorry!
I hope FGT is settling with himself at home, it can feel a little challenging initially.
SueD 👋👋
Just fiddling with my grocery delivery list for tomorrow, I really should check the freezer contents first, note to self, do that next week - procrastination again!
We have friends coming for lunch Sunday Grannmarie we’ll all be watching that film too.
Sleep well tonight kitcheners, particularly Aldom lots going in and utbb. Are you sleeping any better now corner?

Redcar Thu 28-Aug-25 22:38:32

No rain here yet, despite a yellow warning for torrential rain tonight and tomorrow. Hope we get some soon.
I hope the house move is uneventful tomorrow aldom.
blossoming I’ll miss your posts, hope you’ll soon feel able to post again soon.
I’ve been tired and achy all day, no idea why, I blame the weather!!
Night night everyone.

cornergran Thu 28-Aug-25 22:55:01

I’m both pleased and relieved you can escape when you need to grannyg, business class sounds good to me smile.

Take all the time you need blossoming. I’ll miss you and hope you can feel stronger and at ease soon.

Bit of a day here, won’t go into detail - too boring - but suffice to say it’s ended with me needing to order a new iPad. I’m no technical expert and have no idea how to manage the transfer from one to the other or indeed the long list of other things unrelated to matters iPad that must be sorted yesterday. The world is moving too fast for me.

Hope sleep comes tonight, it’s still been elusive Jax. Mr C is threatening me with a rubber mallet. grin. Just one of those times, it doesn’t help the thought processes in the day though.

Night night everyone. Sleep tight.

RosieandherMaw Thu 28-Aug-25 23:27:16

Just a quickie to say your new iPad will do it all for you !
That was a pleasant surprise when I replaced my old one a month or so ago.

cornergran Fri 29-Aug-25 07:24:55

That’s reassuring maw, thank you, although I do have a reputation in the family around technology, if it can go wrong it will grin. I’ll keep my fingers 🤞.

Redcar Fri 29-Aug-25 08:58:02

cornergran I managed to transfer all my stuff from my old iPad to the new one quite easily. It does most of it for you, luckily! But I think the new iPad is too clever for it’s own good, especially the predictive text!

Redcar Fri 29-Aug-25 22:29:20

Some rain at last, so no garden watering this evening. A good evening at the village hall bingo, I won £20 and others on my table also won. A fun evening.
Now relaxing at home with a decaf coffee and a hot wheat pack on my back. The chairs in the village hall are very uncomfortable and my back hates them!
Night night everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 30-Aug-25 08:15:02

Popping in from the quiet corner. It’s very quiet here.
Hope everyone is ok and loving thoughts to the poorlies and families.

Up early for a hair appointment roots etc so will be finished mid morning then off back to our home away from home. It’s been lovely spending the summer there. I shall miss it when we are back home on Monday.
