In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

Hello Kitcheners I’m happier this Saturday than last when Himself was in isolation at the hospital with sepsis. What a difference a week can make eh? He’s watching the F1 qualifiers on his iPad and hoping to be picked up tomorrow by Teacher Mummy daughter to go over and see our Boy Wonder (now 13) and L’il Miss (not far off 9) he’s so looking forward to some hugs. He’s not seen them ‘in person’ apart from FaceTime for four months. He’s been so very poorly. It’s sad to think - a faulty oesophageal stent for 7 weeks that became corroded and had to be removed & replaced - necessitating 2 weeks in hospital and blood transfusions. Then a scan which devastatingly revealed tumour growth as the chemo clinical trial didn’t work. Then the sepsis.

But today he’s on the up. My wonderful strong man. He’s so positive mentally. And when he’s up, so am I.

Best wishes & hugs to all of you this weekend.

The sun is shining here in south Manchester and my heart today is lighter. You’ve all been so lovely I thought I’d share an update. x

Not much time here to post but I must reply to FGT. I hope your dear man has a lovely day with family. The endomorphs or whatever it is we get from doing nice things will do him a power of good. ❤️

We are on a break in a lovely country hotel in the Yorkshire countryside, the sun is shining and our youngest dd is on her way to spend the day with us. What more can we ask for? smile

Grandmadinosaur my stepfather is doing well. Sad at our family situation but coping. No more Sunday dinners as this awfulness has impacted upon us all one way or another. But he’s well. We speak on the phone every day (I like to check he hasn’t had a fall). I went to see him on the bus on Friday and took him a bag of shopping. Two lovely neighbours across the road from him get M&S groceries for him each week which he very much appreciates.

He will be 93 in a month’s time and his brother will be 100. Note to self - I must buy birthday cards.

Redcar Sat 30-Aug-25 19:35:31

fgt good to hear that your stepfather and his brother are also doing well. How kind of his neighbours to get the M&S goodies for him!

Grandmadinosaur Sat 30-Aug-25 19:51:22

A super day ahead tomorrow fgt. So pleased for you both.

Wind and rain here on and off . Pouring at the moment.

A couple of things not quite right on the new iPad but it’s working which has amazed and relieved me. Thanks to the kind folk who gave me confidence.

Wishing you all a restful sleep later.

Grran Sat 30-Aug-25 20:29:30

It put a smile on my face at the end of a long, hard and tedious day.
Tomorrow is a brand new day, eh?

A very wet afternoon here, dismal, can’t moan I was wanting it for so long, the garden is looking a lot better, very autumnal.
Enjoy your evening all.
