Hello Kitcheners- hope you don't mind and apologies if a new kitchen has already been opened elsewhere but I couldn't find it if there has... I've done my best but it still needs a few throws and cushions to make it more homely, ready for the nights drawing in and chillier evenings. Some freshly baked scones, jam and cream on the side if you fancy a treat.
I hope you dont think it presumptious of me to start this kitchen as I don't post as regularly as some of you but do find Soops Kitchen a lovely place to drop into even if I've nothing to say.

Glad you’re now home Blossoming and have enjoyed a walk in Lytham.
The weekend before we married in 1981, we had a day in Lytham, a warm, late April, sunny day with a picnic by the windmill on the Green.
However it snowed for some of the following week and we had a freezing cold but thankfully sunny wedding day!

💐and 🙏🏻 FGT

It’s warm and sunny here in Kos - topping up our vitamin D levels.
It’s lovely to be away from all the jobs and housework although I am still being contacted about WI matters and the PCC. Remember when we didn’t have mobile phones and were out of contact?
I’m glad you are home blossoming and you are feeling more settled.
Ouch Jax - hope it is settling down.
Love to the soops and FGTs as always.

I’ve just arrived at The Christie. Got my coffee, a croissant and a banana. I like this quiet hour before I go up while the ward staff serve the lunches up there.

Much quieter here today. No out patient clinics. Just visitors for the wards like me.

It’s a sad little 4 bedded room on the ward. All 4 men are receiving palliative care. One is terminal and going from here to a hospice on Monday. He’s 76. Himself is the youngest. We visitors acknowledge one another quietly with sad tired faces, not maintaining eye contact for too long in case we crumple.

The staff are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for patients or their families. Dedicated care given with kindness which is so very much appreciated by us all. Normal life in suspension as Saturday goes on outside, as it does.

Spottybook we're walking the same road at much the same time. Of course we wish that our DHs hadn't had that diagnosis but I'm just thankful that it's been found - by chance, no clear symptoms - in time for treatment to give us hope of more time together. We're trying to carry on as normally as possible. I hope your DH's treatment is helpful.

Love to fgt and the Soops and all in need.
