Harry and Meghan. UK Visit.

Just been reading about H&M’s forthcoming proposed visit to the UK with their children, pertaining to the Invictus Games which are due to take place next year.

Apparently, it’s a private visit, and accommodation has been offered to them on a ‘Royal estate’, but no mention of where or if it’s been accepted.

Security issues not revealed, plus whether or not it involves meeting up with the King.

We shall wait and see how it all evolves.

Aveline

So, actually, H&M are in more danger in America than here?

I've just done a quick google - there are 195 recognised countries in the world. The UK ranks 37 in terms of safety. The US 134th.

And no, before anyone asks, I haven't analysed all the criteria for safety, it's just a ballpark figure.

So yes Aveline, safer here than in the States statistically speaking.

The UK doesn’t have the US gun problem at least. I am sure Harry knows that or if he doesn’t he has a very, very short memory. Must check where Australia stands re safety ferry23 never thought of that.

It's probably not Harry's safety concern but Megan's, living in the US where carrying a handgun is routine not having armed security would be unthinkable for many celebrities. Given that most murders are carried out by someone close to the victim the risk in the UK for a gun related attack is tiny.

They fear being booed at more than being shot at.
Their egos would not survive that...

So true MarieElla. However, they'll be desperate for the golden egg of a photo of King Charles with the Sussex grandchildren. That should help to sell a few more jars of jam in Montecito!

Even if a meet up did happen between the King and his GC, he could forbid any photos being taken, the same as the late Queen did on her meeting when they were last over.

If Charles says ‘no photos’, (to be used commercially by the Sussexes) they can’t do much about it.

Am sure Charles could have his own photo taken for his personal archive.

If that didn’t suit H&M, (and it wouldn’t), well, tough.

Aveline Mon 06-Jul-26 09:23:54

Once back in Montecito Charles has no control over what they might do with such a photo...

So Harry accepted Bucks palace too late and has been refused. .
Time for his next tantrum!

And so it goes on!

Harry just can’t help himself, can he?

You would think if he really seeks ‘reconciliation’, he would try and go with the flow, and not make obstacles where there are none.

Am sure Meghan is stirring away behind the scenes.

MarieElla Mon 06-Jul-26 11:53:12

It really is very entertaining but not for his brother and father and the wider family who must desperately wish he'd just shut up and stay away.
I won how things will look in 5 years time....

Oreo Mon 06-Jul-26 12:03:04

DP just told me ‘Harry won’t be staying at Buckingham Palace after all’ to which I replied ‘who cares?’

Taichinan Mon 06-Jul-26 13:40:50

If Harry was my son would I want reconciliation with him? Of course, that's what parents do.
But from the outside, where I am more than happy to be, all I can see is a spoilt brat of a man who behaves abominably badly, with no thought of anyone other than himself/his family.
He's not important enough in any way to be in danger while here (or indeed anywhere) without state-funded security.
If he wants to be a Royal Prince, then let him behave like one.
Comparisons with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's personality traits are all to easy to draw.
I genuinely think the best thing that could happen would be for the British press to ignore him and stop reporting his every petulant gesture. They would go up in my estimation if they did!
And please God let Prince William and Princess Catherine learn lessons from the mistakes of those who have gone before when it goes to educating Prince Louis and his expectations. Something really has to change!
Sorry for the rant!

MarieElla in response to your question - How did things look 5 years ago!

MarieElla Mon 06-Jul-26 14:20:09

Good point.
5 years ago they had some, albeit slim, hope of a reconciliation and, maybe some money earring potential...
Now they have neither!

Princess Charlotte is the ‘spare’ not Prince Louis.

Boz Mon 06-Jul-26 15:02:18

It is all attention seeking.
Friend with mental problems would ring me to arrange a Meet.
15 later she would ring and cancel - sudden migraine, whatever.
For 15 minutes she had my attention. Job done.
The media should ignore them. Blank them.

From what I can see online ( and not a direct quote from Harry, but ‘a source’), their fear is of paparazzi who may ‘relentlessly’ try to get a picture of the children rather than of armed assassins. Could that be because of the constant drip-feeding of pictures of the back of their heads?

*The hope is they can meet their grandfather, but there is no way that can happen if they are chased by paparazzi wherever they go from the moment they step off the plane. He won’t put his children through that.”

According to the reports:

* Harry was said to be exploring “every option” to bring his family to the UK safely.
* His concern centered on the lack of publicly funded police protection after stepping down as a working royal.
* The source said Harry feared that without adequate security, Archie and Lilibet would face immediate and relentless attention from photographers upon arriving in Britain, making the visit unsafe.*

Taichinan Mon 06-Jul-26 18:00:44

Merlotgran Princess Charlotte will be Princess Royal, and has the wonderful Princess Anne as a role model. Louis on the other hand has no obvious Royal role ahead of him. Prince Edward could be a role model for him I suppose, but he went through very difficult times to get where he is now (thanks, I think, to Sophie). So as I said, I hope some constructive thought is being given to Louis' future and he doesn't become a spoilt, arrogant brat like Harry and Andrew.

merlotgran Mon 06-Jul-26 18:15:56

For all we know, Meghan and the children could already be here hiding out in a remote ‘cottage’ on one of the royal estates. All the attention is on Harry making a song and dance about it all.

Buckingham Palace must have a good few spare rooms and plenty of staff. I’m sure they wouldn’t have to drag out a camp bed to put him up - seems rather mean not/to let him stay there,

Exactly. Family squeeze family or friends in. Not this family

Buckingham Palace is open to the public from this week until the end of September.

These dates are known year to year.

I doubt if Harry and his family were offered bed and board whilst it was open to the public.

I smell a rat 🦝

Exactly,it is all a ruse . They will all get together without the public knowing any better,

Where do you get your inside information from Syracute? Perhaps you can tell us if Thomas Markle has also seen his grandchildren in person and met his son-in-law? It would be nice to think they’ve reconciled with that side of the family too.
