You must be old if you have a purse or a wallet.

I don’t put any cash cards on my phone in case I lose it. Also a phone can be tapped into but a wallet or card holder can't. I actually use one of those card holders that block anyone trying to copy anything rather than a purse or wallet. It holds about 20 or so cards so quite useful, zips up. You can get them online.

A great nephew berated me, once upon a time, for using cash and not having "a card, like Mum has. She can spend as much as she wants with one of them".

He definitely needs an urgent crash course in Debt Avoidance!

It's frightening the way youngsters have been allowed to sleepwalk into believing that a credit card really is the fabled Magic Money Tree.

I’m definitely old then. I have a purse which contains money, my ID card and driving licence, also have a small purse which I keep 1 and 2 euro coins in. Useful for when the grandchildren want to go on those money-in-the-slot rides. My credit cards are in a separate little card holder. I loathe using my phone to pay for things and rarely do so.

I had to buy a new purse recently as my existing one’s zip broke.

Years ago we had a shop in town that sold such things and always got my purses there, but long gone.

Ended up getting a cheap one from a clothes shop, hate having a fresh one, but am getting used to it.

Rarely use a handbag, just have my purse (with cards) in my little hessian shopping bag.

I have a cross body leather bag which I love and use it all the time. It contains a small purse with 20.00 plus a few coins and a card holder with my credit card and store loyalty cards.
Also a small comb, tissues, lipstick and a couple of plasters.

I only need to look in my mirror to know I am old, not in my handbag. Do I care? Not that much. Although I did care when looking in an MS changing room mirror at aged body. I blame the mirrors and lighting!,

I work in retail and have noticed more people using cash . This is probably to help budget but I am surprised to see them rooting about in the bottom of their bag to find the cash . I never associated the lack of a purse with phone useage.

I have a purse with cards and some cash in. It lives deep in my cross body with my phone. I use my Apple watch for all payments and have recently started using it for getting instructions and a simple map when finding unfamiliar destinations on foot.
It feels much safer than carrying a phone.

I absolutely detest all the ideas that everything must be done on a phone, so I'm definitely an oldie - 61!

I have a debit card but only use it for the odd online purchase, but I always have that and cash in my physical purse, along with a Spar reward card and various other things in the card sections and the back for money notes, etc.

I love my purse, pink and brown. I'vehad it for years, bought from The Cat Gallery in York, got loads of cats on the front. It was about £45.00 and still going strong!

I don’t carry a purse or wallet any more, but I do carry two card holders - one for debit/credit cards, one for bus pass and membership cards. Though some of those are in the phone ‘wallet’ now - the British Museum and David Lloyd ones. Nat Trust and Kew are still actual cards.

I have been teaching our grandchild concept of physical cash. So if I am transferring money into is account, I want them to know what ten, twenty pounds look like & what it’s worth by what they can buy.
At least now they know what I am giving without seeing the cash now.
At least now they have good healthy bank account that most adults would envy.

MT60 not just medication Boots take all empty beauty products, hairspray, creams, toothpastes etc etc into their schemes tubs
I save all mine and give to my grandaughter to take and get a little windfall
And yes I am very, very old as I still carry a purse with my money, bank cards, store cards, bus pass, etc in

Just bought myself a beautiful Radley purse I have been admiring for a long time. I hate that owning one is now classed as old!

Is it heck! I love shopping for a new purse, my mum usually buys it for me, as it’s deemed unlucky to buy your own purse. Also she puts a bit of silver in the coin bit, for good luck.
I will buy hers. Just something we have always done.

What’s wrong with being old? Rejoice in it, purses or not!
Many who died young would have loved to have had the chance to be old and to carry a purse….

It really does get on my wick when people use the word "old" as something to be embarrassed, or ashamed about.
