Well that makes me old at 65 then but I wont be losing any sleep over it.

I rarely use cash since Covid, so cards in phone case sees me through.

I am 75. I have had all my cards on my phone for several years now. When I go out I just grab my phone and keys, which go in the pockets of my jeans. So much more convenient!
Not only is my purse redundant but so are all my handbags. I do use my shopping bags though!

I go out on a skateboard, and keep all my cards down... well.... I wear my jeans at half mast, so you can guess where.
I put my shopping in the hood of my sweatshirt.

I worry that children will have no concept of physical money. The understanding of pounds, pennies, notes will surely be lost?

It probably will be, bit by bit.

I don’t know - my Gdcs are often given cash for birthdays or Christmas and they all seem to have hefty stashes! Too young for cards still. Now and then if they want something available online, a parent will order it and they repay them with their cash.

Yes, I have and use a purse, a beautiful carved/tooled leather one featuring a very detailed rose, which my husband made for me. So I'm quite happy with being ancient and uncool!

I still have a purse and would be lost without it. My younger sister uses her Apple watch for everything.

I still use a purse as my cards are not on my phone although I use banking apps etc. However I'm pretty sure my DD still has a purse even though she pays with her phone most of the time.

I carry a purse for tipping taxi drivers and giving cash to homeless people; charity collectors etc. I also have a wallet to carry cash and cards. My cards are used frequently - I never think to use the ones in my phone. I pay my hairdresser in cash. A deposit is charged when booking on their app and that goes on my credit card. I’m not old but will always carry cash as I’ll never know when it might be needed

Still have a purse. Only some notes in it and a few £1 coins as I go to a Mens Shed and the fee is £2 per visit. Also credit and stire cards are in there even though I have Bank/Credit Card Apps. Went on holiday and realised without cash awfully difficult to tip (was all inclusive) . And in UK not convinced that the service charge always goes to the staff. Cash is still King.

My hairdresser only takes cash, no cards accepted at all. Similarly the man who cuts my grass. So I always have to have cash in the house but when I go out I just have a little card wallet for driving licence, debit card and library card.

My everyday purse has a £5 or £10 note in it and some change. Also credit/loyalty cards, bus pass, a pair of folding scissors, my u3a card, spare hearing aid batteries, small screwdriver (yes, I needed it once!), nappy pin and often money-off vouchers. I also have a small purse for a credit card, bus pass, a note and a few coins if I'm using a small handbag for any reason. Strangely I was discussing electronic vs. traditional money-management this morning with another golden-oldie!

I had a phone case with a small purse attached to it and spaces for cards. My DS recently pointed out that if I lost that everything would have gone! I now have phone, separate holder for cards and a small coin purse. Debit card sometimes gets popped into either phone case or purse if i don't feel like carrying a handbag. Of course if I lost the handbag, same problem.......but less likely i think. I do like to use a handbag, as I make them and have many, too many!

I have a purse with my cards in, but I don’t take it out with me. Just my phone. It can do everything. As for “what happens if your phone is lost or stolen”? Well, what happens if your purse is stolen. My card details are much more secure on my phone 🤷‍♀️

I think people that never use cash are ignorant. Do they really want it to disappear and us only be able to use cards?! Probably the same people that will complain if we're forced to use ID cards.

I still prefer to use cash for everyday purchases.

Our local chippy doesn't accept cards and as they are delicious, I would have to forgo this occasional treat.

Erm yes course. I carry cards, sometimes my DL if I am picking up a parcel & some cash & coins.
I might feel old, but no I am not old.

Oreo I must admit I smiled too when I read that about having cash and all the other "modern" people who pay with cards were fuming! I always carry cash and usually pay cash.
