Seems it’s now Harry’s uncle - the Earl of Spencer - having his turn at a “tell all” book.

Honestly why? What is the attraction this family have in airing their dirty laundry? It can’t be for money, he’s wealthy. He must think it’ll be cathartic like his nephew imagined it would be if he told us all “his truth”. More mud slinging. Talk about making a bad situation worse.

What a strange post. I really don’t understand it.

Quoting my own post, I was not criticising Maybee70 but the reason I said I did not understand the post was because I found the situation of Maybee70 not wanting to watch LK because she finds her dress inappropriate but her partner watching it anyway with the sound turned down rather odd.
Presumably he had subtitles.

I apologise if my comment caused MayBee70 any distress.

Not surprised to find out that Charles Spencer thinks Harry and Meghan should get full security.

I have no respect for them for using emotional blackmail, manipulations and underhand tactics to get what they want so I have signed the petition to stop them from getting public funded security at

As in didn't watch the interview, MayBee70, I looked at some clips and it seemed as if she had her top turned down and the microphone clipped to it.

No, it doesn't look very appropriate, she wasn't going out for the evening, she was supposed to be doing a professional job.

If a woman attended an interview of mine showing cleavage ot too much leg it would count against her, Im only interested in her working attributes. Other men may be impressed Im not

Am I the only one who watched the interview and didn’t pay the slightest bit of attention to LK’s cleavage?

I didn’t notice any cleavage 🤷‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Mon 21-Sept-26 12:57:30

Just taken this still from BBC interview, where is the cleavage?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 21-Sept-26 12:58:59

Try again

MayBee70 Mon 21-Sept-26 13:08:18

We weren’t watching it. I’m angry with Spencer about his nasty spiteful book anyway. Angry that it’s been given so much publicity and angry that the BBC thought it warranted an interview with their political correspondent. My partner has the tv on all the time watching programmes that I’m not interested in and he left that one on whilst channel hopping to find something else. He turned the sound off at my request as I was reading and didn’t want to hear Spencer’s nasty accusations. I only noticed what she was wearing because I did glance at the tv and that exacerbated my overall annoyance. It’s always been a bugbear of mine, especially with Kuensberg who I also felt was quite sycophantic towards Johnson. I honestly don’t understand why the book has warranted so much coverage. Maybe I should listen to it in the hope that she tripped him up over his accusations.

I thought it was wrong to criticise women for their fashion style on Gransnet.
Remember the fuss over Angela Rayner’s outfit?
I think a regular poster was banned for it.🤔🤔

MarieElla Mon 21-Sept-26 13:20:21

There was no cleavage on show!

Then feel free to report me. In fact I’ll report myself to save you the trouble.

I'm disgusted by the BBC TBH MayBee, wasting time which should be spent on news worthy items on this drivel and wasting licence fee payers money on the interview.

Maybe Charles should allow another channel to broadcast his message on Christmas day.

Whatever happened 29 years ago perhaps he is trying to absolve himself of any blame for pushing her into the cattle pen to be auctioned off.

But whatever happened, he is about making money as the expense of his nephews' well-being, and indeed their relationship with their father

Do keep up.

Diana was married three weeks after her 20th birthday, walked down the aisle by her father.

Her marriage had nothing to do with his son, her brother Charles Spencer, who at the time was a 17 yr old school boy at boarding school .

Bellanonna Mon 21-Sept-26 13:57:10

For what it’s worth I saw nothing “inappropriate” about Kuensberg’s dress.

Yes I feel the same.
Why does the BBC have to sink to the level of the gutter press?
Giving the Earl more oxygen to fuel his ugly tirade, and so cause more division and damage to a family already hurting from the estrangement of Harry and both the King and Kate recovering from cancer. Am no royalist but recognise that the royals are just a family suffering similar ups and downs to the rest of us but having to also have their ups and downs highly publicised.
It is time to let the whole Diana debacle go and so let her rest in peace.

Aveline Mon 21-Sept-26 15:39:20

I agree. This is not news. It's just muckraking. I expect better of the BBC

Maremia Mon 21-Sept-26 16:50:49

And yes, whoever said it upthread, LK was very weak when interviewing Johnson.

No, as I said earlier, my eyes and ears were on the Earl, looking to see if he looked shifty or embarrassed (he didn’t).

LK’s cleavage never caught my eye, but I always think her mouth is a funny shape somehow, and I always notice that!

ixion Mon 21-Sept-26 17:29:54

Her display of cleavage is something over which she has control.
Her funny shape mouth is not.

Let's not speculate what medical condition she may or may not have, let's be kind - or at least not so personal.

He’s happy to drag his sister’s reputation through the mud again in the safe knowledge that neither the RF nor the BBC will publicise details about his own poor behaviour.

Quite. Massive deflection going on here....... what rotters they are..... now me , I've never, ever been a rotter.......

Usedtobeblonde Mon 21-Sept-26 17:41:43

I have just read an interview he gave to the People magazine about Diana.

He says they now realise she had ADHD as he himself has.
She fell out with all her family at times, slapped their Father when he said he was remarrying.
Pushed their stepmother down the stairs and other things I can’t now remember.
She drove to Beachy Head to commit suicide on more than one occasion, where were her bodyguards?
I could only conclude she was a very unstable person and totally unsuitable to be Queen.

MayBee70 Mon 21-Sept-26 17:50:18

I admired her for her stance on land mines and AIDS. And that’s what I want her to be remembered for. Not all this raking up of eating problems etc.

It’s not easy staying with someone that has the tv on all the time. At least ( and as I’m in trouble anyway I can say this and duck behind the parapet) he doesn’t have GB News on. That would tip me over the edge shock!
