We're putting up the tinsel and gathering together a few chairs in preparation for the Gransnet Christmas party. If you're on your own on Christmas Eve/Day, or simply find a spare minute on the day and fancy popping in to celebrate, please do. There'll be a welcome mulled wine from HQ. tchsmile wine

Oh no, have my ear plugs in now.
I was in Sainsbury's today and Once in Royal David's City was playing, found myself singing and I got some very strange looks.
Probably because I was out of tune.

Overdosed on Stollen, Bratwurst and Glühwein in Aachen a couple of weekends ago, but always ready for more.

mumofmadboys Sun 24-Dec-17 07:20:22

Noooo, not Driving Home for Christmas gd! I’ve been hearing it for the last couple of months as it was DH’s choice of music to learn and play on saxophone this year. Was hoping not to hear it again for a while! How about Coldplay Christmas lights? I’ll contribute a (M&S) Christmas cake.

Mauriherb Sun 24-Dec-17 10:30:51

Happy Christmas everyone. Lovely to read all the posts they keep me company! I'll certainly join you for a few drinks and snacks but my days of "Carlton " dancing are long gone lol

maryhoffman37 Sun 24-Dec-17 10:36:51

Anyone want the sloe gin I made four years ago? I decided I prefer straight gin!

kazzer Sun 24-Dec-17 10:38:17

Wish I could join you instead of home with depression being a cow to everyone

tavimama Sun 24-Dec-17 10:40:53

Merry Christmas everyone - hope you don’t mind, I’ve taken the liberty of laying on a couple of coaches - bring on the mulled wine!! tchgrin

Marnie Sun 24-Dec-17 11:01:24

Kacee Sun 24-Dec-17 11:36:00

lexigran Sun 24-Dec-17 12:02:38

Venus Sun 24-Dec-17 14:48:04

I bought an extra Christmas pudding incase we run short but quite sure we won't need it. I'll bring it along together with some brandy butter.

Greyduster Sun 24-Dec-17 15:48:41

I’ll bring the chocolate log I have been wrestling with all afternoon (now that should conjure up some bizarre images!!). It actually looks as if a wrestler fell on it, but it should taste okay! tchgrin

Jalima1108 Sun 24-Dec-17 15:53:11

Half-finished trifle anyone?

Sorry - the latest cookery term is 'deconstructed trifle'
tchsmile

Jalima1108 Sun 24-Dec-17 15:55:47

No-one will notice our culinary disasters Greyduster, after a few slugs of maryhoffman's sloe gin and Kacee's caramel rum
there is lots of sherry in the trifle as well Hic

kazzer hope you feel up to joining in flowers

annsixty Sun 24-Dec-17 15:56:45

Greyduster I have just the thing for you and me, and no, we aren't sharing.
It is Pink Gin which is new to me ,it is very good, I know this because I have had to sample of course.

Jalima1108 Sun 24-Dec-17 15:57:53

IngeJones are you turning down my mince pies?

The pigeons may get them for breakfast

Jalima1108 Sun 24-Dec-17 15:58:42

Actually, I may give them to that man who is still madly dancing in the OP - they should slow him down no end as they're so heavy.

Greyduster Sun 24-Dec-17 16:27:02

Pink gin! Ann I will be very pleased to join you in partaking of that, as I will drink gin of any colour and provenance, but have never had pink gin!

Greyduster Sun 24-Dec-17 16:27:59

Something needs to slow him down! Whatever he is on, I could do with some this afternoon!

GranEd Sun 24-Dec-17 16:36:58

DD2 persuaded me to try rhubarb and ginger gin (after years of telling everyone I can't stand the taste of gin it's my new favourite drink!!) I'll bring some along shall I?

Also a big tub of ice-cream.It just slides down!
