My children are sleeping under my roof once again.

You're brother rings you at some ungodly hour in the morning while you're still in bed to wish you a Happy Christmas. My reply was hardly in the festive spirit. I told him to go forth and multiply.

This was our first year in 36 years it was just the two of us. We had our normal cereal for breakfast before making a start on the main event, as DS1 and DD and her partner are coming over for lunch, before she starts her N/S as a radiographer. And on Boxing Day we had DS1, DS3, his wife and his 2 girls for dinner. I’ll be glad once Sunday is over as we’re having all the family for lunch. I’ll be putting my feet up on Monday.

It has to be croissants for breakfast with apricot conserve. Two more that were left this morning. DH had his normal muesli.

It used to be smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough years ago but that's just too much now and we were rushing to get ready to go out anyway.

And when DH declares that he hates Wallace and Gromit but sits eating a big bowl of popcorn while chuckling all the way through it.

We watched Wallace and Gromit, it was very entertaining but I couldn't help laughing about two people in their 70's sitting watching a cartoon!
We used to "know it's Christmas Day when..." there was something decent on the television, a new film or a really good Christmas Special. I'm guessing that many of you, like me, don't watch the live TV channels any longer, preferring to stream programmes on a smart TV.

We always have smoked salmon on Christmas Day, this year with sourdough and avocado - you can guess from this that we were with our 30-something daughter!
Sadly she had forgotten the croissants and they were recovered, blackened, from the oven later.

Calendargirl

Oh, I am sooo boring.

My usual porridge, toast, orange juice, coffee.

No smoked salmon on the toast, no champers in the orange juice, no Baileys in the coffee.

But I did throw a few grapes in the porridge.

😇

Grapes, a lovely healthy touch Calendargirl!

Oh yes, the obligatory avocado. I do quite like smashed avocado on toast sometimes, with lemon juice and salt.

Ps I have to take issue with you watching a cartoon shock

Wallace and Gromit is not a cartoon! They're real! 😀 well at least they are plasticine figures, painstakingly moved for each frame, so an animated film, not drawings. They're icons.
I have reassured them you didn't mean it.

Sorry, that was to cc

I've gained half a stone just reading these breakfast menus never mind the scrambled eggs, hot smoked salmon, seeded bread toast and champagne I had on the table for breakfast.

My daughter and I had Bucks Fizz at midday in the garden Christmas Day as it was warm and sunny...hope this is our new tradition 😊

You know it’s Christmas when the festive displays in the shops have been replaced by Easter eggs! 🤣

I stayed with my eldest son and his family this Christmas so this year it was a cup of tea in bed then open stocking presents then Buck’s Fizz and a cheese and ham croissant.
