Being with my daughter, son-in-law and 4 wonderful grandchildren who are coming from Switzerland and my beautiful youngest daughter and her husband who live around the corner. To have them all together is fabulous and our 6 year old granddaughter has requested a feast on Christmas day and afterwards her Dittar (grandfather ) to play his guitar so she can sing Jingle Bells. What more can I saywink

I had an op to remove a malignant melanoma from my leg 5 weeks ago and the donor site where the skin graft was taken is not healing. My Christmas wish-list is for this to heal. I'd love to win the box of books for my lovely husband who has been looking after me and cheering me up. I couldn't have coped without him.

I would like to finish my Book Challenge [to read and review 52 books this year for a local charity]so a cleaner is on my wishlist.

HHBBNN54 Tue 22-Nov-16 13:17:33

I am asking for some rubber car mats for my car as I think these are easier to keep clean, you can just pick them up and tip the dirt off. It would be nice to see a bit of traditional christmas spirit about, but unfortunately this gets shorter every year. I would just like some peace in the world and the wars to stop permanently, then people would not need to risk their lives fleeing from war zones.

I would simply like more than one day off work-but I will-hopefully-get Christmas day off. A big thank you to everyone who has to work during the festive season especially the emergency services and caring professions.

To have all my children and grandchildren around the dinner table for Christmas lunch

I would like to find another job as I have recently had my hours cut and times are getting more and more difficult. I would like to help more financially to the running of the house and can not do this on the money I am currently earning. We will have a great family Christmas and hopefully look forward into the New Year.

I would LOVE a spa weekend, all by myself, for total rest and relaxation

SUPERGRAN55 Tue 22-Nov-16 13:46:21

I would so like both my lovely sons to find loves of their own this Christmas. Of course DH and I love them dearly, but they're both in their 30s now and neither of them has anyone special in their lives, nor have they for some time. I worry that they will have a lonely future, so if Santa could PLEASE see his way to playing 'Cupid' for a change, that would make it a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS FOR US ALL.

I like grannypiper's idea of a new bookcase for all of those lovely books I'm hoping to win but most of all, I'm looking forward to the look on my 4 year old granddaughter's face as she delves into a stocking big enough to climb in to! Let's hope all gransnetter's have happy, peaceful family celebrations! This will be the second Christmas since my beloved husband of 40 years died but my sons have been wonderfully supportive and I'm slowly coming to terms with this new life...

I am so looking forward to being able to get around again at Christmas after my hip operation on 6th December

Our 7 year old granddaughter lives with her mother 200 miles away and we are just praying that she will be allowed to spend some time over Christmas with us and her dad.

That DD will return safely from Tashkent where she works in time to share what will very likely be my dear mum's final Christmas. It will be tinged with sadness but we're hoping having the whole family around will give her and my dear dad some wonderful memories. It's also going to give us cause to be thankful because my DSis is recovering from very serious brain surgery.

This years been exceptionally tough; we're all hoping for a peaceful and calm New Year, nothing more and nothing less please.

I absolutely love books and would be happy to read all of them. This year we are spending Christmas with our son and DIL and two brilliant grandsons in their new house. Everything in my garden is lovely at the moment but you have to live each day as if it's your last, you never know what's around the corner.

rockgran25 Tue 22-Nov-16 14:58:30

For my DH to get his sense of humour back which seems to decline with age... just a thought the books might help.

hevian54 Tue 22-Nov-16 15:46:54

I would love my son and his wife to reunite as they still love each other.
I don't really want anything else for xmas

Doreen5 Tue 22-Nov-16 15:46:56

I would love a selection of books for Christmas. Nothing quite so comforting as curling up with a good read.

wendycl Tue 22-Nov-16 18:33:04

My wish is for garden vouchers from my nearest and dearest, I'm about to retire and want to acquire a greenhouse now I will have the time to look after it.

busterjames Tue 22-Nov-16 18:50:53

Will be fabulous just to see my 2 little grandsons faces when they open the presents !

thekiwibex Tue 22-Nov-16 18:51:45

Since it can be absolutely anything, I'm going for a diamond ring!!

Layla112 Tue 22-Nov-16 19:45:55

I would like my family to be as happy as can be and for us all to have a peaceful Christmas.

It would be good for 2017 to be a better place for the whole world and for all countries to be able to converse and get along.

Material goods don't really matter, its the inside contentment that counts

bernie777 Tue 22-Nov-16 20:56:27

A perfect Christmas present would be to have my entire family together, and happy. The last few years have seen us all drift apart and it's so very sad. On a more practical level a room full of books would make my day!

glowing Tue 22-Nov-16 21:10:16

Like many others, I wish for all the family to be well and enjoy Christmas day together. Then a few days of quiet relaxation at home.

indesit Tue 22-Nov-16 21:25:43

A hord of books from Gransnet.
