It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)

Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)

We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page

My Christmas wish is for all who are struggling for whatever reason, (health, debt, worry, etc.) have a peaceful and magical Christmas season.

I will be getting a new grandchild for Christmas, my son & daughter in law do not want to know the sex so it will be a nice surprise when this little bundle of joy arrives. What could be better than a new baby for Christmas. Health, Happiness, Good Food, and Family and maybe a Great Book or two. I can curl up in a corner and be happy and content for hours no matter what the weather or what is going on around me as long as I have a book for company I am in my element.

To my sister who is having a traumatic time these days. Hope everything works out for the sake of the children for peaceful days ahead. For myself I would love to get a phone(one of theses smart/iPhone) just to keep up with time. I wish everyone, my family a fabulous, happy, healthy and peaceful time during the festive seasons and after. X

This will be the 70th christmas my parents have spent together. My wish is for all the generations of our family to join together and to celebrate with them .

My Christmas wish is that we as a nation rediscover our respect for each other and concentrate, as the late Jo Cox advocated, on what we have in common rather than what divides us. We seem to have become hateful and intolerant since the Brexit vote. Let's remember where hate leads. We only have to look at Syria.

I would like some nice fine, dry, weather to make the journey to stay with family an easy one

We don't really exchange presents, although we sometimes buy a few DVDs and books to enjoy over Christmas. Something I'd really like though is a 'Haynes' Saxophone Manual. I've been learning since March and love it, but I'd like to understand the whole workings of it and how to look after and fix it. I'm a bit addicted!

Since my husband and I got together 13 years this will be the first Christmas when we will have all (4) sons from our previous relationships together so I am just wishing for peace and harmony in our household but if I could wish for it to spread across the world then I absolutely would.

A nice new coat, one that actually keeps me warm is the only item on my list this year.

I would love to see all my family and grandchildren happily together on Christmas day. Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen due to family breakups. But grandma never gives up hope

I would love the gift of speech for my granddaughter Sophie. She has cochlear implants but her cerebral palsy makes articulation difficult for her. My Christmas wish is for her to achieve the art of communication be it orally or with sign language.

I would really love a light box, they look so fun and I love that I could change up the words each day!

Health and happiness is top of my list, lots of books of course and a visit from my daughter who lives at the other end of the country. We both are suffering with "bad backs" so cannot face the long journey up north this year.

A foot spa for my poor old aching feet. Bliss!???

I am being utterly selfish here and want something for my own pleasure. We hardly ever see our grandson because he lives 180 miles away. So - I would love for my son's partner and son (our lovely little grandson) to move to our area so we can see him grow up and support that little family as much as we do our daughter. It is a faint possibility so I am ever hopeful

It would be lovely for the two little cousins (only 9 months separates them) to grow up together

I am currently spending each day at hospital supporting various family members through terminal illness . So I only would like books to get me through all of the hours I spend in different wait rooms and treatment rooms . Because material things are not really important this Christmas. X

To answer various questions - yes, we do read all the posts before the winner is picked and all eligible ones (ie that answer the question) are put into the hat and the winner drawn at random.

We have found in the past that the winners of these amazing bumper prizes have been delighted to receive them on the basis that they can read all the things they like and gift other books to friends, family or local charities. Of course, it's up to the winner to do whatever they like with the prize and if whoever wins this year would prefer to split the prize with another gransnetter, that is fine too
