My favourite fairytale was the Elves and the Shoemaker. I loved it because I liked the idea that at night the elves would get to work in our house and it often seemed to happy - pies would be baked and school uniform fixed! (My mum was very busy clearly!)

The three little pigs...it brings back memories of my lovely dad telling the story with the voices of the pigs and the wolf!

The Emperor's New Clothes, this tale made me giggle so much as a child.

My favourite was the ugly duckling because I used to feel so sorry for the duckling & it made me feel better because he was worse off than me & then he eventually finds happiness as he is a swan & everything works out well in the end for him. It is nice to have hope at times during one's life when both young and older.

Cinderella because I believed my dream would come true and I would marry a prince but I married a frog instead.

Rumpelstiltskin. I think I just loved saying that name as I’d never heard anything like it before. When we got a dog I wanted to call him that but wasn’t allowed to!

Cinderella, because we didn't have much growing up, but I did have a Cinderella Ladybird book, and Santa got me a watch and ornament of her, and I adored them. They were the most special things I had growing up. I also felt like cinderella a lot of the time too as even though I was the youngest, being the girl I seemed to get saddled with all the cleaning!

The princess and the pea, I had a lumpy mattress as a child and my dad use to say it only felt lumpy because I was a princess like the one in the story oh happy memories

Cinderella, This was an age when the bad people Lost and the Good people Won, not like today.

I had so many stories I loved while growing up but I think if I had to choose I would say Sleeping Beauty

Rapunzel as I was trying to grow my hair to be as long as hers !!

I loved Rumplestiltskin,it was the horrible little man who had imprisoned her and every day would challenge her to guess his name.It's good over evil and she did find out his name and was free once more x

Dick Whittington because I could identify with it as we often made the journey from Kent to London to visit grandparents. I'd imagine myself as Dick striding along the A2 with my belongings tied up in a spotted handkerchief and my (rather fat and lazy) cat jauntily trotting alongside me as I headed off to make my fortune. Didn't actually know what "fortune" meant, but thought it might be something to do with DIY or handicrafts!

My favourite fairy tale growing up was Chicken Liken. It showed me to have courage even if I thought the sky was falling down.

I loved Jack and the Beanstalk!! My parents were hardworking, but we had little money, and I always dreamt that one day I would grow a beanstalk and grab the golden egg, escape the giant, and make us all rich! Sadly I never grew my beanstalk high enough!!

Beauty and the beast so romantic

Rapunzel was my favourite. I loved the idea of her hair being so beautiful and so long that a Prince could climb up on it rescue her. The Brothers Grimm were supremely talented fairytale writers.

The story about the stone soup. I loved that someone could just use their wits to get something, and that actually everyone comes together to enjoy lovely soup at the end!

I loved the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Adventure, romance, castles, forests and of course love. What more could you ask from a story! Especially from a very daydreamy child. I loved the story especially at Christmas!

The little mermaid, the original version. I have always found it profoundly sad and beautiful at the same time.
