Experiencing mild symptoms, according to the BBC

I wonder if he will now broadcast from a sealed room or if he will take a step back and leave it to others to deliver the briefings?

vegansrock Fri 27-Mar-20 17:01:18

Obviously the sycophants who love BJ think he’s deserving of better treatment, even though he’s been in the party that’s run the NHS into the ground unable to cope in normal times, let alone in a crisis. He was so blasé about the whole thing at the beginning as if Brits will deal with it better than anyone else. I am of course not gleeful or anything of the kind because someone is ill, far from it, let’s hope anyone who has this will get the same first rate treatment and recover.

vampirequeen Fri 27-Mar-20 16:57:06

Are you saying that some of us are not as deserving as others? Some are 'better' than others? Where do you draw the line? Kings and queens get the job through an accident of birth? What makes them 'better'? Politicians choose to stand for election? What makes them better? Both Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn are elected leaders of the two major political parties. Does that make them equal but better than us? Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot, Pinochet, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were all dictators. Were they 'better' than us?

SirChenjin Fri 27-Mar-20 16:57:03

You missed out the ‘men and women who save lives but who have been denied testing and adequate PPE’ Chestnut.

Callistemon Fri 27-Mar-20 16:53:38

Sparklefizz well said

common decency is a good attribute.

Chestnut Fri 27-Mar-20 16:49:27

Really vampirequeen, do you not understand the way the world works? History shows us that all men are not equal and never have been. There are leaders and policy makers, kings and queens, dictators and geniuses. The rest of us are not 'equal' because we have never taken on such responsibilities or made decisions that change the world.

vampirequeen Fri 27-Mar-20 16:18:51

What part of 'all men are equal' do you find ignorant?

GrannyMary1 Fri 27-Mar-20 16:10:03

Well Salsa Queen, who would have guessed that you like him! What on earth has prompted you to say that he is doing a "brilliant" job? Time will tell and I fear history will not be as sycophantic as you are.

growstuff Fri 27-Mar-20 15:59:18

Why is this post ignorant?

*paddyanne Fri 27-Mar-20 11:51:05
Wouldn't wish even Bojo harm but I hope it makes him realise what ordinary folk are going through with the illness and all the financial issues and lack of produce in shops.I doubt it will though ,he wont have to go without bread or milk or wait 4 weeks for a home delivery*

I can guarantee that Johnson will have people sourcing food and medication for him and ensuring that he has what he needs. I can also guarantee that he's not worried sick about his finances.

janipat Fri 27-Mar-20 15:55:55

I honestly don't think there will be many people wishing Boris, or anyone who has the virus, ill. I hope that all recover from this, although of course the numbers dying is increasing day by day. To criticise his actions or inaccuracies, or to disagree with his methods is not to be a hater. I wonder at the mindset of posters who constantly attribute hate to anyone who criticises the actions of someone on any thread, whether that be a politician, Royalty, whatever. Is it they are really revealing their own feelings, that when they criticise someone they are hating?

SirChenjin Fri 27-Mar-20 15:54:51

The ones who deserve special treatment are the frontline staff - that doesn’t seem to have been a priority for BJ and his pals until fairly recently.

Surely you don’t think Bozza and Churchill are in the same league grin grin

eazybee Fri 27-Mar-20 15:53:12

These are the posts I find ignorant:

Daddima Fri 27-Mar-20 11:48:32
I suspect it’s an excuse to stop those embarrassing ‘ updates’ he was giving.

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Mar-20 11:55:41
paddyanne I would put money on it that he would not know where the nearest supermarket is or a corner shop. I doubt if he has ever entered either.
vampirequeen Fri 27-Mar-20 12:35:45
All men should be equal. The days of automatic deference to class are long gone.and....... much more
vampirequeen Fri 27-Mar-20 13:26:43
Why should he have better treatment than anyone else? He's the Prime Minister not the government.

He is the Prime Minister, the Leader; of course he doesn't govern alone but the responsibility for decisions rests with him.
And I am sick of the frequent assertions, fortunately only from a few, that their particular target has no idea of how 'ordinary folk' live, doesn't work nearly as hard as they do, and has everything handed to them on a plate.

Chestnut Fri 27-Mar-20 15:51:04

Surely the Prime Minister does deserve special treatment especially at a time of national crisis. Would we have denied the best treatment to Winston Churchill if he had come down with something during the war? Things might have turned out very differently if he hadn't been able to lead us.

rafichagran Fri 27-Mar-20 15:25:38

I wish him well too.

Teetime Fri 27-Mar-20 15:16:27

Get well soon Boris - you are doing a great job xx

SalsaQueen Fri 27-Mar-20 15:13:33

Greymar Nor did I describe anyone as ignorant - that was posted by someone else. I'm not arguing, anyway.

SirChenjin Fri 27-Mar-20 14:34:04

Absolutely agree with your post at 13:31 janipat. I remember that Tory cheer very well - it was sickening. Now NHS staff are on the frontline and those same Tories will be holding their hands out to them for help if they or their loved ones fall ill - and NHS staff will do what they’re trained to do and treat them in appalling conditions without the protective equipment or testing they need and deserve. I hope those politicians take some time to reflect on their behaviour when this is all over.

Sparklefizz Fri 27-Mar-20 14:21:53

Some nasty comments on here about a man who has become ill, who is trying to get the country through a dreadful crisis. Shame on you for not having some common decency whatever your politics.

Nightsky2 Fri 27-Mar-20 14:20:24

Lucca. Thank you. Your absolutely right, just re-read it.

Whitewavemark2. I do apologise, I read it as ‘he looks ghastly’. I should be more careful blush.

Greymar Fri 27-Mar-20 14:20:02

Oh and by the way as stated previously I am not a Boric hater not a Prince Charles hater. You would have to be one very sick individual to believe that posters are enjoying somebody elses misfortune.

Juliet27 Fri 27-Mar-20 14:19:04

Agreed Chestnut

vampirequeen Fri 27-Mar-20 14:18:31

eazybee

Vampire Queen.
Which proves my point.

Could you point me to the posts you feel are ignorant because I truly can't see any? I must be missing something.

Lucca Fri 27-Mar-20 14:16:12

Here goes nothing. I tend to be a bit of a lurker when things turn to discussing the prime minister, the Tory party etc but it does seem to me that as soon as anyone says anything negative about Boris etc they are shot down and described as “ignorant”. “Boris haters” etc And we get the usual comments about how much it would have been with Corbyn in charge which in my book is totally irrelevant.

Greymar Fri 27-Mar-20 14:15:15

Salsa, I wasn't. I don't get it really I don't but never mind. At least I haven't described another poster as ignorant. I can't be arsed with any of it either. Not when family members are scuttling around trying to find crocs and plastic gloves so they can do their jobs in a hospital.

CherryCezzy Fri 27-Mar-20 14:14:27

No more & no less than anyone else who has a mild case of this virus I wish him a full recovery. My thoughts are with those severe cases on ventilators and the friends and family of the people who have already succumbed to this horrible virus. Yes he's the PM but there are others in the government (except now Matt Hancock too) who can take on a bigger role. As I understand it he is still working from Downing Street, albeit in isolation. The wheels of government still go on.

Lucca Fri 27-Mar-20 14:12:00

Night sky. Whitewavemark2 did not say he looked ghastly. She /he said IT. Looked ghastly, meaning the virus
