''Open the border Macron.''

so you don't think other nations are not right to try to stop the spread of a mutant virus that our Government has been fully aware of since September, and have done nothing about?

Sovereignty and putting your citizens first- no?

Oh, I wondered how long

How long for what?

You tell me - because you are one who constantly tells us not to believe the MSM.

So is it a case of being economical with the truth? Or do these facilities exist?

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 20:34:31

It’s no good Callistemon if posters choose to believe that all is the same because one or two drivers are interviewed, then what can you do?
Just as they are choosing to believe the lorries are being kept here due to Brexit.

Galaxy Tue 22-Dec-20 20:35:21

I absolutely believe the news reports and am a staunch remainer but yes constantly undermining MSM has been an absolute failing and a very bad idea.

our Government

The Swiss Government?

Multiple drivers, aerial shots showing miles of queues & no facilities & multiple reports from people on the ground, oh and charities responding (a Sikh charity appears to have been particularly active)

^our Government^

The Swiss Government?

What are you talking about?

Retiredwell Tue 22-Dec-20 20:41:21

It seems to be the old adage coming to the fore with some on this thread, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. ?

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 20:41:59

Every time the news was on today, it was the same Polish driver being interviewed.?

Nezumi65 Tue 22-Dec-20 20:42:39

Well maybe turn on news 24 now then as they interviewed multiple drivers.

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 20:43:12

The same four?

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 20:44:29

Am guessing that Macron will be lifting the ban by tomorrow,
He’s had his time in the limelight by then.

The same four?

Perhaps the drone shots of miles of lorries nowhere near facilities were mocked up from Tonka toys in someone’s front room just to make us think Boris is a bit shit.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 22-Dec-20 20:47:49

If you lived in the South East you would see much more on the local news. For more than the same 4 people you are suggesting. In fact there were several hundred protesting to the police, There has been nothing to suggest that there is the infrastructure for the lorry drivers, which is astounding given the fact that the government has prepared miles of motor way, airfields and built 2 huge swimming pools. One would expect there to be facilities etc. But there is no evidence.

Nezumi65 Tue 22-Dec-20 20:49:11

I see that as well as the Sikh charity the Polish embassy are now distributing food & water as well.

Did you spot any red buses?

Nezumi65 Tue 22-Dec-20 20:54:19

I can certainly see why the red bus was so successful grin

One or two drivers become four drivers.

Wow! That's exponential growth!

For goodness sake lemongrove, there are hundreds of them.

LauraNorder Tue 22-Dec-20 20:56:40

Well done Poland, looking after their stranded nationals.
Have the French done anything to help their own, oh no I forgot it’s the French who are stopping them getting home.

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 20:59:32

Your concerns for the EU drivers is touching......if only Macron felt the same eh?
How, pray do we conjure up hundreds of loos and hot meals for them? If only he had worried about it before closing France’s borders.
However, am sure the authorities and the charities are doing sterling work with sandwiches and drinks where they need to.
Highly doubtful that drivers of long distance lorries set off without so much as a choccy bar.

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 21:00:16

There are not hundreds being interviewed!

Oh is this a hate the French thread?

I think the British are a bit more missing than the French tbh.

Nezumi65 Tue 22-Dec-20 21:02:03

We have an army who could conjure up loos etc. Or events companies who have had bugger all work this year who I am sure would be delighted to Chuck up portaloos etc.

Given that Brexit predicts queues like this I would have hoped we’d be a bit more ready tbh

lemongrove Tue 22-Dec-20 21:03:16

Anyone blame Macron? No, thought not.....easier always for some posters to blame their own government ( simply because they are doing a bit of political point scoring) they are sadly deluded in this case.
