Problems in Harry and Meghan Marriage
My husband had the Pfizer jab before Christmas with no ill effects it seemed . Two weeks after he had really bad headaches on 3 consecutive nights . He is not normally prone to headaches . The GP says it could not be related to the jab. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Good description, Elegran
Why? Why? Why do people persist in calling the vaccines untested? As has been said, they were tested on tens of thousands of volunteers. Yes, the research and development was unusually quick but that was because:
a) Barrowloads of money were pumped into the research
b) Drug firms worldwide supported and shared the research
c) They were already a good way on, having produced the flu vaccine which is related to the current virus.
There is no conspiracy to hide possible side-effects. They are regularly discussed in the media.
....and there is an NHS leaflet on the subject of side effects. look back up thread for the link.
Sir Isaac Newton said If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants
In other word each new scientific discovery is made by building on discoveries previously made and if you look at this link, www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-5504137]]1 the contents of which have been widely disseminated, you will read how following the Ebola epidemic, the Oxford group put all their efforts into developing a basic vaccine using new advances in genetic modification that would enable them to manipulate the DNA of any virus and place it in this base and immediately have an effective and safe vaccine. All they had to do then was undertake extensive testing through several phases to confirm its safety, which they did. The approval authority then did their appraisals and it was released.
I am gob-smacked that any intelligent adult, who like all of us, has lived through so much technological, scientific and medical advances in their lives, could be suspicious because someone produced a vaccine faster in 2020 than they did 20, 50, 100 or 200 years ago. That is utterly Luddite.
Yes, much of the groundwork had been done over very many years.
We each put a ‘soup of chemicals’ into our body every time we eat a meal. Everything on earth is made of chemicals.
As for not taking anti-malarials, that’s madness. A huge number of deaths are caused by the scourge of malaria. We have always taken AM’s when living abroad. I didn’t want to die of malaria and I didn’t want to live with the non-fatal but recurrent version, either. Dh recalls his grandfather, who was born and raised in India, suffering from recurrent malaria. It wasn’t pretty.
As for vaccine side effects, my medic dd received it last week. She had a sore arm for one day and is now fine. One young male medic fainted but as that was before he’d even had his injection, it seems an unlikely side effect!
Interesting comments. I must say that my husband was not in any way suggesting his headaches were linked to the vaccine, that was just me wondering! I’m pleased to say he had not had any more since then. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the second one next month .
Only 24 hours but I have had no reactions at all to my vaccine, no sore arm, no redness or swelling, nothing. DS tells me his MiL, who also had the jab yesterday, is as reactionless as I am.
Took my 85 year old dad to have his at 10.45 this morning.
He's a strapping chap doesn't fear anything, never has.
He was fine etc. But the doc wanted his top off, so he takes his sweatshirt off, he had a grey vest on that he had cut down the middle(, plus it was inside out he said it was too tight)
He of course took his braces down which in turn let his trousers fall to the floor
luckily he had his long johns on!(thought he was going to do a full strip!
Bless him hes'e trying so hard after mum passing away 4 months ago.
So he got dressed, we then went and sat for 20 mins then was set free.
The thing that worried me was, I took him back to mine for a coffee and pork pie that he loves, he sat down and got the most dreadful pain in his left chest area! I know it was bad as he didn't finish his pork pie!(not meant to be funny but he loves his food)
It took a while to subside and he was rummaging for his angina spray(which he never has in his pocket) he has about 7 in his box at home .
So I took him home and he was going to have a sleep, I'm hoping it had nothing to do with the jab, he said it was trapped wind and it did ease, but he wasn't just himself. probably coincidence I hope. He does have underlying health conditions.
On the morning of Thursday, 14th December I had the Pfizer vaccine. I had a slightly sore arm at bedtime, but slept well on the arm. The soreness has gone and I have no side effects. My surgery are using a large marquee behind the surgery. The whole process was very well organised, warm and friendly. I was there for a total of 20 minutes.

Watched that ages ago, so, so many of the same!
Shall I report you for time wasting? No.
Emotional manipulation. Do those children, at such a young age, really understand what they are singing about?
Oh dear god....
(sorry if I offend the religious)
I take it you've had the vaccine Alegi Just going by your strange posts.
What exactly is "strange" about Alegrias's posts?
bikergran perhaps he got over-anxious. Does he have an emergency button or, if not could he keep his mobile phone on him all the time so he can call you if necessary.
Someone I know, also 85, had his last weekend and us absolutely fine.
A reminder - wear a short-sleeved top! When I went for my flu jab vaccine I did but had a jumper over the top. The nurse said, "I'll just go in from the top". Just as well it was a stretchy jumper.

My DGC are about the same age and I'm sure even the younger one could explain it to you very clearly and in great detail, Yogagirl
I have had the vaccine, best friend has had the vaccine, DS's MiL has had the vaccine. Not one of us has had any reaction to it, no sore arm, no swelling, we haven't grasped our throats and turned purple, our bowels are working perfectly and none of us has a temperature.
Aldom has reported much the same.
Bikergran, your father's pain sounds like angina, which is why he has the spray. This used to happen to my DF, who also had angina. Angina can be very random.
'Emotional manipulation' rubbish Yogagirl. Children sing what they are told to sing, and give little thought to the words. They are not likely to receive the vaccine anyway.
Should I worry that my grandchildren sing 'What shall I do with a drunken sailor' and lots of other folk songs whose words suggest they do things inappropriate to their age and condition or encourage them to do things that are illegal if not criminal?

I'm not sure - they seem to be the kind of family who would discuss such issues with their children but also without worrying them unduly.
The issue of whether or not people take up the offer of vaccination and we get on top of Covid affects their futures.
Covid is a virus and any virus injections will give you symptoms of the actual disease in my opinion but I am not medically qualified so what do I know Think about chicken pox and measles’s they sometimes tell you that it could bring out shingles or help you not get shingles so severely Just be aware the doctors say better to have the vaccine and one might have side effects but better than the full blown Covid It will be a few years until we know more about this situation we are all faced even the medical scientists aren’t Gods they are using their knowledge learnt in books and by doing experiments/tests etc to guide us to living a healthy and longer life
mumstheword86 None of the COVID vaccines contain the covid virus, alive or dead. Both the Pfizer and Astra Zenica vaccines, the ones used in the UK are based on manipulations of parts of the virus only.
My NHS family member had their injection yesterday but the amount not turning up was astounding these are NHS workers not general public and the vaccine cannot be kept once it’s out of the freezer for so many hours
