My husband had the Pfizer jab before Christmas with no ill effects it seemed . Two weeks after he had really bad headaches on 3 consecutive nights . He is not normally prone to headaches . The GP says it could not be related to the jab. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Interesting Monica My son is a scientist and has also had his works in the papers. He is also very much into genealogy & has gone as far back in our family tree as is possible. So our sons have the same sort of analytical brain, where they will search for weeks, months, years even, till they get their answers.

I had my first covid vaccination yesterday morning and today I feel fine. I must admit that my arm is pretty sore, maybe more so than when I have the annual flu jab. I couldn't sleep on that side last night. Also I did have a headache all day yesterday, but think this was due to stress as I was rather wound up about the whole thing.
It does say in the paperwork that it might take one or two days for a reaction to start, so we'll see. But so far I'm ok.

Now 5 days since I had the vaccine and still no side effects.

Interesting news from California today.

Alegrias1 Thu 21-Jan-21 09:19:02

Clue?

nanna8 Thu 21-Jan-21 09:24:49

Ah well , it is interesting to read all this because none of us here in Australia have been offered the vaccine yet. I feel better about it now I have to say. There is a bit of scaremongering over here about how safe it is so thank you for sharing the positives.

I’m aware of lots of similar reactions. In any case, how would the gp know? No one knows. These are ‘vaccines’ that haven’t yet been fully trialled. Hope he feels better soon.

Lovetopaint037 Thu 21-Jan-21 09:39:32

Go for it if you are offered it and be grateful. We went this week so far no side effects.

Of course they have been fully trialled. Why have you got "vaccines" in inverted commas?

henetha Thu 21-Jan-21 12:00:22

Jab day plus two - still headachy, sore arm a bit better.
Slightly sniffy as if I have a cold coming. Apart from that I feel fine.

Summerlove Thu 21-Jan-21 14:43:13

Thought I left the bullying when I left school!

Oh how ironic

M0nica Thu 21-Jan-21 16:15:12

Gingetrgirl As I keep saying DH was one of the peoplewho volunteered to take part in the Phase 3 trials of the Oxford vaccine. 25,000 people from a range of different countries world wide injected and tested weekly for at least 4 months.

By Phase 3 they were being tested on people of all ages and with a wide range of co-morbidities. The results were then assessed by the independent assessors who approved it for use.

Why do you say in your post things that are already proven to be untrue. Did you or your children have any of the choldhood vaccines. Did you worry about thpse as much. If not, why not.

M0nica Thu 21-Jan-21 16:20:38

By the way, just coming up to a week since my jab without the scintilla of a sign of a side effect. Apart from my green hair and tentacles growing on my toes.

grannysyb Thu 21-Jan-21 17:27:40

Had mine yesterday (Pfizer) arm only slightly tender, feeling completely normal. My DH had his last week as did my best friend, all good, really glad to get it. Tentacles not growing yet M0nica!

Very interesting post nanna Didn't know that Oz isn't rolling out the vaccine.

Anything in your news over there in Oz re: California? The thing that really frightens me is nothing in our news or on the radio! Yahoo mail wouldn't give out false news.

Deedaa Fri 22-Jan-21 15:25:32

Had my first one this morning. The nurse doing it said she had hers three weeks ago and just felt very tired for a couple of days.

M0nica Fri 22-Jan-21 15:58:13

Yogagirl There are no problems in California witht he jab eexcept a query about one batch of the Moderna vaccine. This was cleared up and that particular batch was cleared for use.

By constantly producing tiny little glitches, far from supporting your anti-vaccine case you undermine it because if the best you can do is find tiny problems, the kind that are inevtable with any vaccine however successful, it just underlines how safe these vaccines really are.

They are producing their own vaccine and had a anomaly in just three test results so had abandoned production pro tem.

There was resistance towards vaccination at first in Australia because the Government considered making it compulsory for all.
Children have to have a range of vaccines before they are allowed to start state school too and babies are meant to have a Hepatitis B vaccine as soon as they are born too - some mothers do refuse to allow their days old babies to have that.

I think if a government dictates that vaccinations are compulsory, it is inevitable that people will rebel and question in a democracy.

I have recently had a Neuro nurse come to the house. She says she had the virus around 2 months ago, she had the vaccine 8 days ago and every bone in her body ached the following day, plus she was totally exhausted and only just starting to feel better now. On speaking to her colleagues that also had the virus and vaccine around about the same (they were all at the same conference) time they too felt exactly the same. On speaking to another nurse she said only the people that had already had the actual virus before being vaccinated had these symptoms. I think I have made sense of that?

Callistemon Fri 22-Jan-21 16:21:28

Yes, I understood.
I wonder why - this morning my thoughts wandered on to what reaction you might have to the vaccine if you'd already had Covid.

Many people may not realise that they have had it, of course.

330,000 of the Moderna vaccine was pulled from being used as 10 people vaccinated, at the same vaccine centre, had severe allergic reactions to it and needed to be hospitalised.

I am 85 and in that group to have the covid vaccination. I had mine on Thursday and, because I have never had adverse effects to vaccinations in the past, expected to be the same this time. Unfortunately I have felt really poorly - nasty headache (I don't usually get headaches) body aching and really tired. I don't usually give in but keep going, however I had to lay down on my bed for a couple of hours yesterday as I felt so bad.
Luckily today I feel quite bit better. Am just hoping when I get the second injection it doesn't have the same effect.

Moderna vaccine California updates two days ago.
www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages/NR21-025.aspx
State officials had put a pause on using that lot of vaccine after six people in San Diego experienced severe allergic reactions after receiving the shot. [six not ten - reported as "under ten" but repeated as "ten"]
The lot contained a total of 1,272,200 doses, most of which were shipped across the country, according to a Moderna statement. Thousands of those doses have already been administered.

From Moderna "January 19, 2021: Moderna acknowledges receiving a report from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) that several individuals at one vaccination center in San Diego were treated for possible allergic reactions after vaccination from one lot of Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine. The Company is fully cooperating with CDPH in investigating these reported adverse events. Consistent with the statement from CDPH, at this point Moderna is unaware of comparable clusters of adverse events from other vaccination centers which may have administered vaccines from the same lot, or from other Moderna lots." investors.modernatx.com/news-releases/news-release-details/statement-california-department-public-health-cdph-report

"Consistent with the statement from CDPH, at this point Moderna is unaware of comparable clusters of adverse events from other vaccination centers which may have administered vaccines from the same lot, or from other Moderna lots."
That does sound as though there is something about that particular vaccination session or that particular centre which is not applicable to any other sessions or centres. If it were a general problem with the vaccine (or even with that batch) it should surely be showing up at other centres?

Casdon Sat 23-Jan-21 12:17:28

It’s quite common for there to be a ‘mass hysteria’ outbreak when new vaccines are introduced.
Interesting article from the World Health Organisation.
