Hancock having affair during lockdown unbelievable!

The Sun (apologies, but they got the scoop) has published a picture od Matt Hancock in a steamy embrace with a woman he sneaked into a job at DHSC last November, the story is that they have been carrying on an affair in the office since then. The hypocrisy of him calling for Neil Ferguson spelling amended by GNHQ at OP's request to be sacked for his lockdown breaking affair cannot be overestimated.

In every government building I've worked in, it would be the person who leaked the footage would be in the deepest trouble. That would be what they will be working on I'd have thought.

Keeleklogger Fri 25-Jun-21 14:35:19

No prizes for guessing

Talullah Fri 25-Jun-21 14:37:05

Ha! Maybe! I did wonder that. Well he won't be in any trouble!

Casdon Fri 25-Jun-21 14:58:37

It doesn’t matter who leaked it in the slightest though surely, he’s bang to rights regardless.
I actually don’t think it’s such a serious breach as this MP appears to be getting away with though, propositioning staff because of your position and not being brought to justice is completely beyond the pale.

Not at all clear that it was that rat. He wouldn’t have access to security cctv

Who has he apologised to? It should surely be his wife not sleazebag Johnson.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Jun-21 15:04:28

We met Carole Caplin on holiday when the alleged thruple was active terrible snob which we found hilarious as she was not even staying in one of the better beach bungalows on the Island grin

You don’t get it do you.

The Tories may well be constantly having affairs etc, but the issue is the use of public money, the sleaze and corruption etc.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 25-Jun-21 15:38:05

It is a real systemic issue with the Tory party with so much being done and no transparency.

The key issue is that Hancock set the rules himself. He breached both the spirit and letter of the law.

Boris has said the matter is closed and Mr. Hancock is not resigning.

It's a question of who you are and how high up you are.
I've known people lose their jobs for arriving late or getting caught having a quick cigarette.

Can't imagine what the woman saw in him, there is a picture of her husband on the internet and he looks mush better than boring Hancock.
They are all a load of mucky little devils in Boris's party too much testosterone flying about.

He is not the first person to have an affair and I doubt very much he will be the last!

I do feel for the innocent partners, wider family and any children involved.

Not the brightest thing to do when telling others to hands-face-space during a worldwide pandemic.

Having seen the photos, it looked a lot more hands-face-arse to me

“Johnson has accepted Hancock’s apology for breaking social distancing rules and the matter is closed”. When I heard that on the radio I had a Victor Meldrew moment.

Can you just imagine if that had been a Labour or SNP politician!

apology for breaking social distancing rules

Regarding your last sentence Lucca , all those baying for Mr.Hancock’s head on a plate would be supportive of them.

I wouldnt so that's not quite accurate.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Jun-21 16:28:35

This I guess will be an unpopular opinion, but I think the PM should leave any reshuffle until the end of the summer break (which I am assuming will still take place).

Hopefully after which with some fresh faces in the Cabinet, they can get on with some of things in their manifesto as hopefully by then all those who are able to be vaccinated will have done so and the UK can move forward.

Mr.Hancock should then either be banished to the back benches or resign and we have a by-election.

I wouldnt so that's not quite accurate.

As most of this thread is based on two CCTV images, none of us know if it was a full on affair or a series of clinches in the office.

So basically what is accurate?

Daisymae Fri 25-Jun-21 16:33:18

The most extraordinary thing is that anyone would want to.

Ellianne Fri 25-Jun-21 16:35:10

Whilst I deplore his actions, if I were PM I would be in two minds whether to sack him. At least he probably knows the most about what is going on in the NHS at the moment, both good and bad, and has had the most dealings with the scientists.

I wouldn’t. If anyone in a position of responsibility such as an MP disregarded social distancing I would not support them no matter which party .

I agree, this isn’t the best time to sack or re-shuffle him, although I think that may be on the cards at some point.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Jun-21 16:50:38

lemongrove that’s what I just posted, I think there will be new faces in the cabinet after summer break.

Her husband is behind Oliver Bonas the fabulous jewellery, fashion & homeware company.

I have never heard of this company, but have just googled, and there are some lovely things, in fact am tempted to order a blue green tree palm print midi dress, just the sort of thing I have been looking for, so thanks.smile
