The Sun (apologies, but they got the scoop) has published a picture od Matt Hancock in a steamy embrace with a woman he sneaked into a job at DHSC last November, the story is that they have been carrying on an affair in the office since then. The hypocrisy of him calling for Neil Ferguson spelling amended by GNHQ at OP's request to be sacked for his lockdown breaking affair cannot be overestimated.

How can Hancock stand up and tell people to follow the rules.

He can’t.

EkwaNimitee Fri 25-Jun-21 19:46:53

Any bets on how long he’s got before he resigns? It’s just not possible for him to appear on tv and tell us what rules to follow now

Ed Davey MP ??? (@EdwardJDavey) Tweeted: The reason Matt Hancock should resign is that he is a terrible Health Secretary, not because of his private life. From the PPE scandal, the crisis in our care service and the unbelievably poor test and trace system, he has utterly failed. twitter.com/EdwardJDavey/status/1408331108421410824?s=20

The whole bloody lot needs the lid taken off and thoroughly scrutinised. The corruption, double dealing, lies and fraud needs a massive light thrown onto it.

BREAKING: Matt Hancock's department gave a load of NHS contracts to a company run by the brother of the woman he was having an affair with.

That's millions of your tax-payer money which you hoped was going to the NHS, but really it was being spent to keep the Hancock satisfied.

No need for the BREAKING part of our our business is PPE procurement, from the third week in March 2020 it was literally every man for themselves .

It was a worldwide bull pit

We were pulling in every friend/acquaintance possible to fulfil our contracts I can imagine how others felt.

Not sure of your point

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Jun-21 21:06:18

The point is as from middle/end March every business contact one knew was absolutely overwhelmed with orders/requests, which led onto price inflation and unscrupulous vendors with substandard products emerging.

Easy to be an armchair expert, as opposed to those who have worked:supplied throughout

And what has that to do with Hancock and his fraudulent behaviour?

*seen hugging* - love it! That's not how any of my friends (male or female) have ever hugged me!

If he goes, then who do we get I wonder? Please, please don't let it be Gove.

Noooooo! Not Gove!

Can I advise posters that if they value their eyes not to watch the actual video of Hancock with his bit of stuff.

You’ll be washing them for hours after you’ve seen him.

But…..do you approve of Hancock having an affair /passionately kissing this woman whilst social distancing rules were in place ? That’s the point here.

Surely to goodness even if one is a Tory supporter one is not obliged to condone everything they do ?

Oh dear, I've just seen it! The sleazy beggar - the way he checks the corridor first! What on earth was she thinking??!!!

Of course I had to watch it, didn’t I. I feel like a peeping Tom now and it serves me right. Oh, Matt you checked the door but not the camera. What a mistake to make.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Jun-21 07:52:55

I think someone ought to write to the Sun and beg them not to put out footage if Gove is caught in the same situation. I don’t think that the nation would ever get over it.

Blencathra Sat 26-Jun-21 07:58:58

Quite believable - unfortunately he is one of many in government without a shred of integrity.
People who make the rules have to keep them. You can only tell people to do as you do - they are not going to do as you say when you don’t do it yourself.
So many people have suffered real hardship and yet he thinks he is above the rules.

Dryginger Sat 26-Jun-21 08:02:37

Just watched it. His poor wife feel so sorry for her, to think she will see that. I think Boris should sack him rather than wait for him to resign.

MissChateline Sat 26-Jun-21 08:03:46

It was never illegal to hug. Advisory maybe but not illegal.

I’m more concerned about how a camera was set up in a Minister’s office in the first place without their knowledge. Very worrying re security issues. There needs to be a very detailed investigation into security arrangements in government offices dealing with confidential information and matters of national security. How did the Sun newspaper access this footage?

Who said it was set up without 'their' (whose?) knowledge? It's supposedly from a security camera. Those aren't secret cameras, they are there to do the very job you outline. I expect our passionate pair just forgot the cameras were there.

The Sun can only have accessed the video by way of a very high level leaker. Possibly authorised by no. 10...

I had to scroll very fast past lots of tweets last night to avoid having to watch it ?

Lots of speculation, too as to the identity of another top level minister supposedly conducting an affair which is an open secret among political journalists. If it's the one who seems to be favourite I'm astounded that even one woman fancied him enough to marry him, let alone there being a second woman willing to have an affair with him ?

Johnson is running a knocking shop. The one thing he is good at.

Sorry but you are “ more concerned” about the camera. Does that mean you’re ok with the man “in charge “ of the pandemic is cheerfully ignoring social distancing ??

Oh Matt, Matt - you twit! ... I used to think you were the bee's knees.
