How many of you have been 'pinged'? Did you self isolate for the number of days notified to you? Is the system working?

NO I have not been pinged and I will not be either because I utterly refuse to have the NHS installed on my phone. I have been vaccinated so I will NOT tolerate any more attacks on my freedom. This is becoming like a communist country, and I am sick of it.

My step daughter works for Deloitte. She was one of many who developed their track & trace system.
She doesn’t have it on her phone ?

Like one of the previous posters my granddaughter was pinged when she had only been in her car outside and she thinks it was probably from another car - she ignored it!!!

Camelot - that would explain a lot. How do you delete it? I

My husband was emailed when he tested positive. He was in hospital at the time and that's where he caught it. He had tested negative at least three times since being admitted. I am on the NHS Covid-19 app but no one contacted me.

Work for a GP told not to load app

MerylStreep Tue 13-Jul-21 17:46:29

Here’s another one who’s ditched the app.

GrannySomerset
I would imagine that you delete it like any other app.
Just hold your finger on the image, delete or move box will drop down: press delete.

Yes, twice ?

OnwardandUpward Tue 13-Jul-21 19:59:20

I never did work out how to install the app...

@Janetashbolt that's interesting and a bit puzzling!

I don't use it, I had to self isolate for 14 days after an 11 day stay in Hospital (not Covid related) because 2 people on the ward tested positive, we all had to have a negative test before admission. I was tested 5 times during my Hospital stay, all negative.

In early March I was told to shield until 31st Marchconfused, my health conditions hadn't changed since the 1st lockdown. I was attending my GP Surgery every other day, this caused them a lot of extra work.

I have no wish to self isolate again, DD removed it off her phone after some-one told her that once she had checked in to Martial Arts the app presumed she was there all evening not just for an hour. Potentially if some-one tested positive in later classes she would have to self isolate along with her Partner & DGSs even though she couldn't have come into contact with themconfused

I will continue mask wearing, social distancing, sanitzing & avoid crowded places. I need to attend all my medical appointments both to help heal my severe Cellulitis & for my mental health

To be honest, I didn't go anywhere to need an app. We started isolating pretty early on and have only visted open air places. I did have my doubts about the usefulness of the app. One of my friends has kids still at school and has had to isolate loads of times.

I did have to go to hospital but they didn't ask me to have the app for that. @Leggs55 I hope your Cellulitis clears up soon and yes you do need to attend appointments

I have not installed the ap. until last week I had not been anywhere except once, where my daughter signed us in on her ap.

Last week we were away on holiday in U.K. and had to sign in on a sheet of paper at cafes, NT places and a pub( we did not eat out very often).
From what I now know, I am glad I haven’t got the app as it doesn’t seem very reliable.

Just deleted the app grin

No pinging here! I always 'check in' with the NHS App when it's 'available' - but all I ever get is a message that reminds me restrictions are still in force in my area.
