Criminally Negligent: What Jacob Rees Mogg Said! ?

I am speechless.

Can someone please link to what shite he came out with today.

According to him the Tories don’t need to wear masks because ‘they all know each other’, and they are ‘fraternal and convivial’.

My extremely vulnerable DH is almost having a breakdown (no exaggeration) because of how things are panning out.

We can’t access the health services that we desperately need because we need to isolate due to the government’s idiocy.

There are hundreds of thousands of people in similar circumstances.

If that is so maybe we could have met up with family last Christmas!!

Yes! Why waste time! Let’s get it over and done with!
I always knew that JRM wasn’t the brightest, but what he’s come out with today… sad
And it’s not beyond the realms if possibility that he could be our PM sad

I heard what he said and TBH words fail me. This is the level of intelligence that you need to be an MP???

FannyCornforth Thu 21-Oct-21 17:35:27

Thank you Scones
(Does your name rhyme with ‘bones’ or ‘dons’? I need to say it the correct way in my head, thank you)

It’s utterly horrendous isn’t it

So you can't catch covid from people you know? confused Someone needs to tell the scientists and medical staff

Scones Thu 21-Oct-21 17:42:27

Scones as in bones smile

Apparently the correct way is dons. Common as muck me.

lemongrove Thu 21-Oct-21 17:48:39

Not worth getting in a froth about. Most of us are seeing family and friends without mask wearing, and for that matter colleagues too.
Of course Fanny maybe you are still meeting friends with your mask on, I have no idea.
It’s up to all of us to make our own decisions on how to live our lives, being fully vaccinated, if you have no severe health problems, then life can go on ( if we want it to).
We can do the opposite if we need to/ want to and stay at home, not meet anyone or do anything.

Well, perhaps if they all die off, we may get a sensible government

Well one died of cancer last week, well before his time and another was murdered at his surgery. Both of them thoroughly decent men by all accounts.

Your post was uncalled for.

I have reported your post MrsPickle under the circumstances of the last 8 days, it’s inappropriate, unnecessary and totally without any shame…

Appalling comment. I’ve reported it as well.

You are speechless Fanny? That makes a change. ?

Baggs Thu 21-Oct-21 18:14:08

He didn't say anything about 'need' in what I heard, FC, only that Tories don't, while also making the point that socialists don't either when they aren't going to be on parliamentary TV, a political point of whose truth we don't know but he might well.

Casdon Thu 21-Oct-21 18:15:44

Whoops he did it again.

Context, please, casdon. That link is contextless. You need to quote what he wrapped that 'gem' up in.

Baggs Thu 21-Oct-21 18:26:01

In the interests of fairness, you understand.

Casdon Thu 21-Oct-21 18:31:13

Sorry Baggs I thought people would remember this incident of his his penchant for controversial statements unlinked to brain engagement about the impact, there are plenty of other examples too.
Here’s the story I was referring to.

The government is encouraging us to wear masks in crowded places. The point is it doesn’t matter if they are ‘fraternal’ and convivial they should be setting an example. If they don’t do it, it gives others an excuse not to.

Kali2 Thu 21-Oct-21 18:40:53

This, exactly.

Lemongrove, the Government should set an example. Their own Minister said earlier the same day that people should be responsible and continue to wear masks in public places!!!
Will you stop excusing the inexcusable all the time- please.

Scones Thu 21-Oct-21 18:47:04

115 covid deaths today. Case numbers highest in three months. Hospitalisations near 1,000.

139,146 dead.

What to do? Speak sensibly to nation and give clear, prudent guidelines? Nah..... set a bad example, joke about it, detail quite how weak the government guidelines are and score political points.

lemongrove Thu 21-Oct-21 19:02:52

kali I shall continue to say what I think...regardless of what you or any other posters say, thanks.
Rees Mogg can speak for himself and do whatever he wants to.
Politicians always will do, just as the general public will do.
he's talking about friends and colleagues not spending the night in a crowded bar, but if he wanted to do that as well, then so be it.There is far too much easy censoring going on.
far too much 'oooh, look what so and so is saying\doing now', at least he was being honest.
