Christmas party at Downing Street last year

Families who lost loved ones during the pandemic have said they are "sickened" by a No 10 Christmas party held during last year's Covid restrictions.

The party took place on 18 December, with a source telling the BBC "several dozen" people attended.

But the Covid restrictions operating at the time banned such events.

Boris Johnson - who was not at the party - said no Covid rules were broken, but No 10 has refused to explain how party-goers complied.

correction - "do I NOT support Corbyn"

MissAdventure Fri 03-Dec-21 18:22:06

So, now that the notion of us all being lefties has been put to bed, how about the party in power following their own regulations?

Corbyn a decent guy? With his connections to terrorists? Next I’ll hear that McDonnell, still very much in evidence, isn’t a Marxist.

See you've been drinkning the cool-aid GSM. Daily Fail?

GagaJo Fri 03-Dec-21 18:25:13

Urgh! Drinking. Apologies.

1. I didn’t vote for Corbyn
2. I’m not a Labour voter

3. I’d really like to ask Lemongrove and GSM to watch the bbc piece. Please.

It has made my blood boil

They will not look at any evidence of Tory lies and corruption

angry
What a bllidy insult to those who lost family members.

MissAdventure Fri 03-Dec-21 18:55:56

The link also clears up the timeframe and rules, for those who don't understand or remember what they were all that time ago, back in the olden days.
Last year, in other words.

varian Fri 03-Dec-21 19:03:56

The link gives the facts, facts provided by experts, - but do they make any impression on the diehard Tory loyalists who voted for brexit because "the British people have had too much of experts"?

Do you all remember Kellyanne Conway who coined the expression "alternative facts"?

How in the name of the wee man can anyone excuse this disgusting behaviour?

JaneJudge Fri 03-Dec-21 19:15:54

We couldn't even see our own daughter/granddaughter/sister who has a disability and lived in a care home on her 21st birthday LAST YEAR my memory is not that f***ing short. They are absolutely disgraceful

They don't care about the likes of us and I am not sure why people defend this kind of crap

JaneJudge Fri 03-Dec-21 19:17:29

All those people who couldn't even see their relatives out of their time in this world too because of covid, even if they had covid. But Christmas parties for downing street during lockdown = fine
give over

varian Fri 03-Dec-21 19:31:57

How outrageously do these Tory liars have to behave to persuade the readers ofTthe Daily Mail, The Telegraph, The Sun and The Express to see them for what they are and stop their blind unquestioning support?

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 03-Dec-21 19:59:32

What are you trying to say to me GJ? I’m dense, kindly be explicit.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-Dec-21 20:01:55

Please do not lump all previous Conservative voters together.

I for one do not condone the No.10 shenanigans, but I would like to know the truth, not the media take on it.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 03-Dec-21 20:12:43

I read none of the aforementioned newspapers but am and will remain a Conservative voter. I am able to think for myself.

Lucca Fri 03-Dec-21 22:39:36

Did you look at the news report .???..

Lucca Fri 03-Dec-21 22:41:27

To be honest it’s bugger all to do with being a conservative voter. It’s to do with wrongdoing.
Blindly condoning everything no10 does is crazy no matter who is in power

Calistemon Fri 03-Dec-21 22:46:58

Could someone please provide a definition of Number 10 in this particular instance?

Sorry to be a bit dense.

I know that.
We keep hearing about a Number 10 party, but exactly whose party? Who organised it?
Who were the guests?

Did you watch PMQs this week Maizie? That’s when it was brought up. I didn’t say leaked.

The story in the Mirror, was published on Wednesday morning and was actually trailed on Tuesday evening

PMQs happened after publication (morning papers are on sale well be fore 12 noon, in case you didn't realise that) So why shouldn't it be mentioned in PMQs? (it was all over social media well before that...)

Why on earth a gratuitous insult to the law abiding citizens of the UK shouldn't be the subject of a question to the PM by the LOTO is puzzling me.

Here's the link to it. you'll see it's dated 30th November, updated 1st December.

Are you of a mind that the opposition should refrain from criticising anything the government does?

Are we, perhaps, not going to bother with an inquiry into the government's handling of the Covid crisis because it happened, oooh, nearly 2 years ago now?

hmm

JaneJudge Fri 03-Dec-21 23:14:15

maybe the cat organised it
