Depends where- Where we had ours done on arrival to UK, it was 70 for antigen, 130 for PCR if same day results. To return this week, antigen was 70. Prices vary hugely, depending on by post, same day, next day, or ...

I have a relative who lives abroad and they have always paid a nominal fee for a LFT. Guess that we will have to as well.

Daisymae, yes it is the case in many countries. But this means that some will not be able to afford to test, and therefore will not- which is dangerous in the middle of rising numbers, in the middle of winter. Hope that at least, if this comes to be true, schools, NHS, Care homes, etc- will be provided with free tests.

There were news articles way back last summer claiming that free LFT tests would not longer be available but it never happened.

I also interpreted the article as GrannyGravy13 did, as a possibility in the future but with the tests still available for certain categories, including care homes, NHS workers, education, certain key workers and vulnerable people.

Please stop exaggerating what it being reported and read the articles carefully.

I only nipped into two large shops in England the other day (one was B&Q so a lot of space anyway) and most people were wearing masks and keeping their distance, much the same as here.

France, last year PCR tests were free until October, since then we pay the chemist for a home test packet with only 1, yes one test costing 5 euros without a prescription.
