The choir I'm in is currently doing Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers. I think it's a beautiful song about ordinary, everyday love - not soppy hearts and flowers romanticism.

Which songs are your favourites?

Eloethan. Summer Breeze is my hubby's favourite song. I love music from late 60s onwards and have so many songs I love it's hard to pick a favourite. They all hold different memories. 'I've loved you too long to stop now' by Otis Redding is beautiful.

I want to know what love is
If I can’t have you.
Girl of my best friend
When you say you’re leaving me ( Dusty Springfield)
These are probably the first lines rather than the titles
Hungry eyes ( from Dirty Dancing) but that might be lust, not love!

Lots of songs on this post, but have a listen to Gulf Coast Highway by Nanci Griffith. It's on YouTube. I just listened to a version of it by Evangeline which is lovely.

I've been listening to 'All for Love' by Road Stewart, Bryan Adams and Sting. Also Eva Cassidy's version of Fields of Gold. Here's another one, Don't give up - Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.
