No-one seems to have started a thread so here goes!

Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell.
He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!

I'm looking forward to seeing The Searchers. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry, Anniebach, I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to get that with that remark. I've quite clearly stated that I'm not condoning what was said. I'm just pointing out that both acts were already well known for their very forthright political views, so the organisers knew exactly what they were letting themselves in for.

Political views or not what they done was wrong, no ifs nor buts just out and out wrong!

Imagine being Jewish in that crowdโ€ฆ

Seems antisemitic comments can be political ? not true

Rod Stewart so much better than I expected

Showing the young folk what it's all about.

Looking forward to Nile Rodgers

Again, for the sake of clarity, I'm NOT condoning what was said. I'm making no excuses for either act at all.
However, the whole furore reminds me of when the Sex Pistols appeared on Bill Grundy's show and the outrage which followed.
The TV people knew exactly what they were doing when they got them on the show - they wanted them to do something outrageous, and it worked. Same thing here. You'd have to have been living in a box not to know what both Kneecap and Bob Vylan were likely to do when they got on stage at Glastonbury. If the organisers are claiming otherwise, they're lying through their teeth.

I was using political in the widest sense of the word. But I think some on here are determined to twist my comments for reasons known only to themselves.

Both the Eavis family and the rappers need to be questioned about this, it was no innocent mistake or youthful zeal.

Totally agree

Rod Stewart was brilliant at being Rod Stewart. Fabulous

I saw Charlie Wotsit from the business he sold, Pimlico Plumbers recently and thought it was Rod Stewart at first ๐Ÿ˜„

Yes but don't forget kittylester he's only allowed to be brilliant if you agree with his politics ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰
I think he's brilliant too ๐Ÿ˜

Rod Stewart a legend on the Pyramid Stage in the legend slot.

Well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I certainly donโ€™t agree with his politics, a Reform supporter ?
no way

I understand he eulogised about Enoch Powell back in the day. He did give a good performance. But it still leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

I assume you know the political allegiances of all your favourite bands and only follow them if their views align with yours?

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-25 17:42:41

Exactly what I was going to say, GG.

Casdon Sun 29-Jun-25 17:53:16

Put it this way, I wonโ€™t knowingly line their coffers if I know their allegiance is to Reform. Most musicians donโ€™t declare a political allegiance though, they have more sense.

Extremely worrying the rise of the left spewing their hate.

No but some thigns are too extreme and too uncomfortable to be a part of.

Where is this spewing please?

Israel spewing bullets at children is pretty grim.

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-25 18:37:13

Oh for goodness sake!!

woodenspoon Sun 29-Jun-25 19:36:44

Rod Stewart was fantastic. Iโ€™ve seen him live a few times over the years and he certainly shows others how itโ€™s done. Iโ€™ll be watching Nile Rodgerโ€™s on Catchup. Not interested in the headliner- who is Olivia Rodrigo anyway?

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-25 19:37:48

Eek! Rodโ€™s shirt is setting off my trypophobia. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Harris27 Sun 29-Jun-25 19:43:05

Just watched rod Stewart heโ€™s getting on a bit now but I still find him great!

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-25 19:47:43

Thank God heโ€™s changed his shirt. ๐Ÿ˜‚
