Well you wouldn"t be would you , you are so pretty hidebound ,, oooh

Annobel Sat 11-Aug-12 20:32:26

Do you mean to be rude, nonu, or is it accidental?

glassortwo Sat 11-Aug-12 20:34:33

jeni versatile or not I love you smile

jeni Sat 11-Aug-12 20:42:59

smile I'm not bothered! I'll just go to bed soon. I've still got two days tribunals to read for next week.
If I work 4 days it takes me at least a whole day to prepare! I only get payed for the 4 days and that at a rate a consultant would charge for an hours consultation!
NOT WELL PAYED!

I know I'm better paid than a lot of people pro rata! BUT!

Pedants! Help!

Payed or paid?confused

Ella46 Sat 11-Aug-12 20:45:31

jeni - get that spellcheck working properly! It 'corrects' things that don't need it, and doesn't correct things that do...!

And I certainly don't think you're hidebound, at all.

jeni Sat 11-Aug-12 20:58:10

Well! Skin(wrinkly)bound?grin

jeni Sat 11-Aug-12 21:01:01

Wasn't the spell check. Both are valid! It 'twas me 'Father I cannot tell a lie! Lye? Lye?

Ella46 Sat 11-Aug-12 21:01:20

Going wildly off thread for a moment (sorry everyone but it's jeni's fault for asking about paid/payed) I had a discussion a few days ago about the spelling of the past tense of "earn" - for example: your earn you salary but what is the past tense - is it "earnt" or "earned"

glassortwo Sun 12-Aug-12 20:49:01

yoga sorry i have had a glass or two so I will have to think about this tomorrow.

jeni Sun 12-Aug-12 21:14:06

Learn - learnt
Burn - burnt
Earn - earned?
English is such a strange language, I feel sorry for those that don't have English as a first language
