Thanks glassorto - my aim for the winter is to not go up too much, then have another big effort next Spring to lose another 6kg- and if possible more. I am now just 'fat' officially, instead of morbidly obese as I was 4 years ago, or obese as I've been for past 3 years. I doubt if I'll ever go down to the 'normal' range, but as long as I can get to a comfortable 16, that will be fine.

glassortwo Fri 26-Oct-12 20:36:45

Dont worry about it granjura you have just got back I think it takes a while to adjust again after being away. smile

This weeks total - 1 lb

Challenge total 25.4lbs

granjura Fri 26-Oct-12 20:15:47

Ooops, up 1 lb and a bit - it's getting cold and I am comfort eating to keep warm.

Pud Fri 26-Oct-12 20:10:38

As long as it'snot pink elephants glasswort so I think I might cope. Saturday may well be a morning in bed !! (Wink)

glassortwo Fri 26-Oct-12 19:58:32

pud no decimal point but in the morning you might see spots after the bottle wink

Pud Fri 26-Oct-12 19:55:50

What is it about a Friday night that makes you drink wine?! Worked out that a bottle of Pino is 600 calories - will someone please till me that there should be a decimal point in there somewhere hic(wine)

I'm just off to find My Fitness Pal - sounds just what I need, especially as DH has now decided to stop watching his food intake, as he is at the weight with which he is happy - and I must say, he looks great but any more loss and he would begin to look - well, shall I just say that I do like big men!

Movedalot Thu 25-Oct-12 18:34:52

Glass and everyone else, I will try but have just discovered the most delicious coconut cakes! I must try to swim more and go to the gym more as I do feel so tempted by all the lovely food here. I shall feel so bad if I am the one who lets the side down next week. Is there an 'I'm sorry in advance' emoticon???? I remember my middle son at 18 months going to do something he knew he shouldn't and saying 'sorry Mummy' on his was to do it. I feel just like that now!

Sbagran Thu 25-Oct-12 15:04:30

You're welcome Pud - so glad that you are doing ok.
MFP is addictive but bear in mind that you cannot always be absolutely accurate. I have had two training days this week with a buffet lunch provided. I was very restrained but the sandwiches were multi-filled with all sorts and the little mini-cakes sooooo delicious so I have had to guess!
I am hoping that more restraint over the rest of the week will cover any inaccuracy but more to the point - the scales will be understanding and accept that I have really tried!!! hmm

Pud Wed 24-Oct-12 21:38:50

Thanks Sbagran, starting to get to grips with My Fitness Pal. Think it could get rather compulsive!

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 21:14:49

grannyeggs that 1/2lb is very important, it makes all the difference, well done smile

crimson we sometimes need to crash like that to recharge the batteries, drinking lots of water is one of the secrets to loose weight.

This weeks total .5lbs

Challenge total 26.9lbs

crimson Wed 24-Oct-12 21:07:26

Didn't wake up till 12 today [it's my day off and the first day off for ages when I've not had to get up for something, so woke up when I woke up]. Because I wasn't tired I didn't get the craving to eat lots of food, so had a bowl of tomato soup with a slice of bread [no more bread after today] and some rice cakes with tuna and coleslaw tonight. Hoping that I've kicked all the bad habits for a while. Going to have an early night and drink lots of water tomorrow [something I haven't been doing lately].

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 20:53:42

It is great Grannyeggs!

Grannyeggs Wed 24-Oct-12 20:39:24

I have lost half a pound not great but it is something.

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 20:36:41

You can drag us out of the minus next week notso without even trying grin
now you have got your mojo back, where did you find him (mojo is my FIL nickname, I didnt realise he was missing grin )

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 20:31:54

To everyone who worked hard to lose....I'm very sorry flowers I will try not to let it happen again.

glassortwo Wed 24-Oct-12 19:04:16

Sorry folks but its the + & - thats thrown it, but you always have next week to send the number in the other direct and after all its only 67 days to C so lets see what you are all made off wink grin

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 18:20:22

Oh no! Does my gain invalidate others' loss? Mortified!! blush

Movedalot Wed 24-Oct-12 18:18:23

Glass surely not? Some of us did lose weight didn't we? Or was that compensated for by those who gained?

glassortwo Tue 23-Oct-12 19:59:37

I have lost another `1.5lbs really pleased so this is how it looks

Week 1 5lb
Week 2 2lb
Week 3 1lb
Week 4 1.5lbs

Total 9.5lbs

notso I am pleased you have your mojo back grin

This weeks total 0lbs

Challenge total 26.4lbs

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 13:10:21

Found the mojo...hiding behind the rice cakes. MFP filled in for breakfast and healthy lunch. Starting to feel a smidge more in control! Nordic Walking and aerobics this afternoon should top up the resolve.
I can't slide backwards too far......I've sold all my fat clothes on Ebay! grin

Notsogrand Tue 23-Oct-12 09:53:12

Well shamefully, I've put on 2lbs blush
Thank you for the reminder about how helpful MFP is Sbagran. I haven't been bothering with it for the past few weeks, but it does make a big difference and I'm going to go straight there now and add my breakfast!
I'm going away to Edinburgh for a few days at the end of the week....it's so tempting to say I'll get back on MFP after the trip, but if I start now, at least I'll have a few 'good' days under my belt before the weekend.
I'll follow your Maltesers example grannyeggs and bin the half a packet of Welsh cakes in the cupboard, squirt washing up liquid on them to stop them jumping out and straight into the toaster.
Well done to everyone who is losing & maintaining weight!
I'm off to find where I left my weight loss mojo!!!

Pud - I assume you have created your user name and password on My Fitness Pal? Log in and you will hit a home page which will show your daily total calorie allowance. Look at the blue tabs near the top of the page and select 'Food'
You will then see your food diary for the day.
Click on 'add food' under whatever meal you wish to record then type in what you have eaten - a drop down list of various makes etc will appear and then just select the one you want. If you need to adjust the amount just click in the box and you will soon get the hang of it. It automatically deducts the amount of calories from your total.
If you do any specific exercise click on the exercise tab next to the food tab and record the exercise - you then get bonus calories added to your allowance.
I still mess up every now and again - if you find you have entered the wrong thing just click on the red 'no entry sign' and it will disappear - alternatively click on the item and it will allow you to alter the amount (only discovered that this week!)
Have a play - you will soon get used to it. The useful thing is that it keeps you focussed and helps you realise what a 'portion' is. When you get used to finding food etc nearest to the ones you want you could do what I do - I put in what I want to have for my next meal and then if my total shoots into 'the red' (over calories!) you can delete something and replace it with something different.
I typed in baked beans into one of my meals one evening and exceeded my total - I deleted the beans and entered a grilled tomato instead which kept me under my allowance!
One helpful thing is that you will see a list of foods you have entered before so if, like me, you have the same thing most days for breakfast you simply click to add each day. You need just to play trial and error!Simples grin
Hope this helps but if you have any problems just ask as so many of us use it that someone is bound to be on hand to help!
Good luck flowers

Thanks glassortwo, much appreciated.

Beware the carrots. They are VERY healthy in normal amounts but can poison you if too many eaten instead of a variety of foods. One of my neighbours in the UK became totally obsessed about losing weight and was eating carrots for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I noticed her hands were becoming orange, then her face and whole body. Turned out she had BetaCarrotAneamia - too much Vitamin A being toxic. It can be dangerous, and she is not allowed carrots anymore.
