Morning all. Sorry to say I have not lost anything this week, but not put anything on either. Will try harder this week. Good luck to everyone smile

Sbagran Mon 19-Nov-12 09:20:04

Hang on in there Pud - what was I saying last week about being really good but staying the same or losing ounces?
Weighed in yesterday morning to a 3lb LOSS!!! Hey hey hey!!!
It is so strange that I seem to lose 2 -3 lbs then stay static for several weeks then drop 2-3lbs again as if it has to reach the edge of the cliff before finally dropping over! For the first time for years I am now (JUST) under 11 stone so I am now hoping to lose a few more before Christmas so that it won't hurt tooooo much if I put on a bit then.
Keep the faith Pud and good luck to everyone else!
(By the way - I don't recommend checking the scales daily as this morning mine tell me that I only lost the two but I'm not believing that as I ONLY weigh on Sunday mornings and that's that!!! grin)

No more, no less - but that's fine, I am really going for the long-term effect. My aim over the winter is not to go up too much, with the next big push in the Spring. In Winter we all need a bit more comfort and reserves.

I've stayed the same sad so still have a stone to loose. Digby is fast asleep in the airing cupboard at the mo, seems a shame to wake him but will plonk him on the scales later.

Owing to much greediness (sounds like a village in the Cotswolds!) I have put on about 3lbs. I lost two and a half stones with the help of glass's diet thread, and I've been far too lax lately blush so I'm now back on track and will NOT be eating the cooking chocolate sandwiched between 2 gingernuts - EVER AGAIN!! hmm grin

Ella46 Mon 19-Nov-12 19:06:32

Pass them over Marelli, I'll have them! grin

Marelli Mon 19-Nov-12 20:59:22

glassortwo Mon 19-Nov-12 21:07:09

Well done pud wink
Ha ha sba you always give yourself grief and the next week you come up trumps, well done. smile
granjura I like your thinking but I would just waste all the hard work I had put in already, my will power is not very good with winter comfort food hmm
phoenix your head has to be in the right place. Look forward to digbys weigh in grin
nono congratulations 2lb and a week of celebrating, Happy Birthday mr S.

jeni never mind, you have been very quiet these last few weeks?

Think I might join you blush I need to. Am currently going to Slimming World local group (for the second time) but having lost almost a stone have now hit a plateau!

This may nudge me.

Am not sure what the rules are (are there any, except being supportive?) but my Slimming World group meets on Thursdays so I'll post my ups and downs on or around each Thursday.

Two things I'm currently trying are:
1) a brilliant new sports/leisure centre has opened about half a mile from my house. And it's not very expensive. So, on Friday, I nervously went to the Senior Swim session on Friday 9am. £3 concessions pay on the door which I thought was OK. I want it to become routine. There are lots of other swimming sessions and also aqua aerobics and "dry" classes (Pilates, yoga, aerobics, spin etc) at £5 a pop. Or join by the year. But each journey starts with a single step, first I'll see if I can make this Friday 9am swim routine.
2) I've given up alcohol. Well, almost! The Slimming World consultant said "Good idea, well done, but being realistic why don't you give it up 6 days a week, not 100%" which is an excellent suggestion I think. So in the past week, I'd say my alcohol intake has dropped by 75-80%. Let's see if I stick to it. And let's see what happens on those scales!
btw Slimming World says don't weigh yourself at home. Ever. Just do the weekly weigh-in at their session. So I'm trying to do that. With some cheating!

For those that have tried various systems, I found Weight Watchers positively harmful. I lost a stone. Then put on three. Didn't suit me at all. I get on much better with Slimming World. Both are expensive, but Slimming World aren't so insistently trying to flog you their products. And the system suits me better.

isthatall good to have you aboard smile, I am also doing SW I have lost a stone this time and find it suits me and I can fit it in with the family, they all eat SW recipes and would not know the difference. wink

We don't have any rules on the thread, just post when you want and whatever you want....... recipes or how your coping or if you need a shoulder..... entirely up to you, we all follow different plans and all get weighed different days so the thread is open from a Monday until the Sunday evening, I have felt a little complacent having got my stone award last week but I have a challenge to myself that I want to have lost 1.5 stone for Christmas so I think I need to buckle down.

Good advice not to get weighed at home if you are in a club, your weight fluctuates all week so one day if your heavier you could blow it all and fall off the wagon only to find that its not a true reading hmm

isthisallthereis Mon 19-Nov-12 21:54:06

Absolutely correct glassortwo that's exactly what my SW consultant says. She's the most amazing example to everyone. From her photos she seems to have dropped from about 16 stone to a very healthy, not over-skinny, 11 stone. Approx. But I'd guess she's in her early 30's. Easier at that age I reckon angry But I'll get there....

Hi I've lost another 0.5 lbs. I was a bit disappointed that it seems to be coming off so slowly but then I've not really been dieting, more like just being careful. I did start using MFP but would find I'd not been methodical and filled it in for a couple of days.
For me it's not so much what I do ear as what I'm saying 'NO' to. My dear aunt who died a few weeks ago use to say 'little pickets wear bigger knickers' and she was a size 10 all her life and live fit and well until she was 89.

No change, no will power, no time!

Have just plonked Digby on to the scales, he seems to have stayed the same as last week. I was able to get a slightly better look though, so perhaps he's firming up a bit?

Wheniwasyourage Tue 20-Nov-12 18:49:14

Oh dear, it wasn't a good idea to go away for a short break! I've got to admit to having put 1kg back on confused. Mind you, the food was very good and so I'll have to try to live on the memories. Well done sba! You're an inspiration!
