grin movedalot - you've just had a fantastic holiday so no change is brilliant, no willpower understandable, but no time hmm??? It is time to concentrate now on the last lap before the Christmas amnesty!!!
Thanks for your message Wheniwasyourage but really Glass, all my fellow losers on this thread and MFP have been my inspiration - I am delighted with my latest loss obviously but mustn't get complacent as that has happened before and I have slipped back into my old ways blush
Wheniwasyourage like Movedalot you had a break - we have to have a break every now and then so don't look back (except for the memories of course!) but aim to lose!
Isn't it great that no-one who has been actively taking part in the challenge has really gained - we don't consider those who have gained recently and are therefore joining is as 'gainers' - you are important 'joiners' and very welcome!
Hey Glass between us we have lost nearly 43lbs which is over three stone (maths isn't my strongpoint!) - if we carry on like this we could lose the equivalent of a whole Gransnetter between us by Christmas grin
Thank you Glass for being the inspiration for all of us flowers
Go for it Digby and go for it everyone! grin

jodi well done, your Aunt was very true.
whenIam as long as you enjoyed yourself that's all that matters.

I have lost 1/2lb would have liked more but had a few meals out and wine so really cant expect anymore than that. But I have now lost 1 stone and 1/2lb since our challenge started.

This week total 2.8 lb

Challenge to date 40.08lbs

Thanks glassortwo and well done everyone so far.

Sbagran I have relayed your message of encouragement to Digby, but he was in the hall eating a spider at the time, so was a tad distracted.

Does anyone know the calorie content of a large spider? I will take some of the biscuits out of his bowl to compensate. I just get the feeling that he's not really showing much commitment to his weight loss programme at the moment. [sigh emoticon] and his exercise diary makes for very disappointing reading.

sba thank you but each and every one of you are your own inspiration... well done.

Ohhhhhhhhh no I forgot digby I can see how sleek he is looking grin

I've stayed the same again this week, but I'm not getting stressy about it because at least I'm not gaining. I'd like to lose a few pounds before Christmas, to give myself a bit of wiggle room over the festivities!
Well done everyone this week. smile

notso great maintaining, I know what you mean about wiggle room wink have you given any thought that possibly your body is happy with the weight you are after loosing so much. I feel we all have a weight our body is happy with and not necessarily what is reported as the correct weight for our height.

grin Phoenix and Digby!

Sorry, forgot to post earlier in the week .
As usual I am not adding to your total weight loss- just staying happily the same. Still loving mfp and have introduced my sister and niece to it this week . As they aren't grannies they aren't coming on this thread , but we have befriended each other on the mfp site and I can follow your excellent example glass and be very supportive from a distance in cyberspace.
May take the concept of Christmas Wiggle Room to heart and work a bit harder for the next few weeks ... ( or not ???)

I've started two things

a) I went last week to the Senior Swim at the fine new pool and sports centre near where I live. 9-10am every Friday, £3 (didn't feel well enough this morning to go. Boo) I want to make it routine every Friday. Then maybe add a second day a week. Maybe. Every journey starts with a single step is what the Chinese say. Or in this case, a single length!

b) I've cut down my alcohol intake massively. Maybe stopped 60-70% of it. I wanted to stop totally, go Cold Turkey. But my SW consultant said maybe better to drink say one day a week, ie be more realistic. I had 4 alcohol-free days last week. Maybe 5 next week, or even six. Up till Christmas.

So with those two in place, something should happen in a downwards direction to my weight. Plus of course the SW eating plan. basically lots of fresh fruit and especially fresh veg plus very, very little fat, sugar or processed flour.

GAINED pound and a half this week grrr. I have had a virus for much of the past two weeks so have been very inactive. Eg no swimming sessions. But have been doing exercises in the bathroom every morning first thing and will now have a Slimming World blitz in the next two weeks to Christmas. So - NO cakes and NO alcohol. Watch this space!! Am feeling optimistic that I will get firmly back on course and will acheive weight loss again very soon.

Hi isthis....you've posted on an earlier diet thread from a couple of weeks ago. Can you copy it over to the Monday 3rd December thread?

isthisallthereis Fri 07-Dec-12 08:04:43

Will do. Hadn't go the system blush
