On the last leg now, hope you have all been good.

Thank you notso for stepping in when I was tied up with my Mum, you are a star. smile

I have put on last weeks thread asking when you want last weigh in for Christmas, do you want 17th, or do the Sunday/Monday people want to register their last weigh in on the 24th, let me know what you think. Do you want to start again next year?

Hope your Mum's still doing well glass. Yes please, let's start again next year - some of us need all the help we can get! Don't know if I would count as a gain or a loss; at 64.4kg I'm 200g up on my first weigh-in in September but 400g down on 2 weeks ago. Not that worried just now as there is a lot going on in the family, but it's nice to know that there are others struggling with extra bits of body that they don't want! The swimming is fun anyway.

glass I think this has been an excellent thread, and although I don't contribute much, I certainly keep an eye on it as it helps me to remain aware of my health and fitness.
I'd love to see it back next year. smile

Jodi Mon 10-Dec-12 08:53:24

Reporting another 1/2 pound off. The scales hovered back and forth for ages before settling and I was hopeful it would be a whole pound, but no!

However...I'm now on holiday for two weeks, and this week coming I'm stepping things up duet wise. I've only myself to cook for so I'm hoping for a whole pound off next week at the least.

Hope your mum's doing well glass ?

grin

Jodi Mon 10-Dec-12 08:53:59

Diet not duet!!!

Sbagran Mon 10-Dec-12 09:25:45

Welcome back Glass, hope all is well and Mum on the mend.
I had TWO Christmas meals out last week plus a fish and chip supper blush - this resulted, unsurprisingly, in a two pound gain sad - 152.8lbs yesterday so I am sorry to start the week with a gain folks!
I would have liked to have been around ten and a half stone in time for Christmas to give myself room to spoil myself a bit, but as long as I stay under the 154lb or 11stone mark I will be satisfied. I am off to my third Christmas meal at lunchtime today - then that's it until the big day - mine were all unusually early this year.
I have the rest of the week to put today right hmm
I will probably weigh myself as normal on the Sundays around Christmas and report in on the Monday thread just to keep myself focussed but please don't lumber yourself with all the maths and stats Glass! You have enough to do.
Yes please, from me too, re carrying on next year - My target weight is around 147lbs so I am so very nearly there - I expect to go up a bit over Christmas?New Year as we are going away for new year but I intend to get it gone again - that is when I will need to keep focussed - to keep it off!!!
Good luck to everyone else this week - flowers for Glass and Mum

Bez Mon 10-Dec-12 09:33:14

I am still about the same for the last couple of weeks - now back in UK and am using DD scales - they are not digital like mine so more difficult to see exactly!! However here we are all aiming at eating less and getting a bit trimmer!!

Great to see people on this thread making good progress - well done to everyone. Those like me finding it more difficult - nil desperandum and all that - today is a new start (again!).wink

Movedalot Mon 10-Dec-12 09:50:58

Glass how is your Mum? I do hope all is well.

whenI and Jodi well done for those losses, it is so hard at this time of year. Also Bez as there are so many temptations with so much going on socially. Sba I know what it is like as I put on a pound a couple of weeks ago because of too many parties and I think it is worth having fun without worrying about what you eat, especially when you don't have much to lose.

I will put my loss/gain on next week too for my own benefit and then want to carry on in January. I will most certainly need to as we have family coming for Christmas and going away for New Year so it will one long eatfest. grin I am still filling the freezer with food and have to make more mince pies and biscuits so temptation will be high.

Sorry I still cannot contribute to the overall loss but, despite so many eating events this week, I have lost another pound! smile That leaves me one more to go until I am back to where I was before I went on holiday. It would be great if I could start Christmas having lost it but there is a lot going on this week too.

I finally got DH on MFP nearly 3 weeks ago and he has lost 10 lbs! Where can I get some testosterone??

Anne58 Mon 10-Dec-12 09:56:58

Just going to nip to the loo first, every little helps blush

Anne58 Mon 10-Dec-12 11:01:23

Seems as though I've lost 1lb, better than nothing!

I would definitely like to continue in the New Year, as I'm pretty sure that I will gain over the next few weeks blush

Nonu Mon 10-Dec-12 11:05:11

Chuffed to bits . smile

Anne58 Mon 10-Dec-12 11:09:55

Anne58 Mon 10-Dec-12 11:33:24

grin

jeni Mon 10-Dec-12 12:28:05

I definitely need to start again next year! I have no doubt I will gain over my holiday and will need to diet ready for the next one.

Sewsilver Mon 10-Dec-12 14:39:52

Glass I hope your Mum is ok. Yes please keep this thread going.
2.5 lb off this week , with DH in agony I can't eat. At this rate I'll be positively sylph like. Pity none of it is coming off my middle!

Marelli Mon 10-Dec-12 17:15:54

I seem to have levelled off again after my greedy, bingey few days blush! So in the meantime I'll just watch what I'm doing and more than likely be joining you all again in the New Year. Everyone's doing so well, aren't they? smile

Notsogrand Tue 11-Dec-12 07:43:07

flowers for your Mum glass
Yes please for keeping going in the New Year.
I've lost another 3lbs this week, so half a stone in a fortnight on this very low carb (Atkins) regime. I'm back now to the lowest weight I'd achieved, which was in June.
I don't know whether it's an eating plan that could (or should?) be sustained long term, but as a short term boost to get your system shifted, it's quite effective.
Well done and good luck to everyone this week! smile

crimson Tue 11-Dec-12 17:27:55

I've been so good with my eating this past week or so but today got called in to do an extra session at work; if I'd gone home and sat down I wouldn't have got going again so I bought a pie thing and a huge cake from the local shop. I'm determined not to eat anything tonight to compensate for it but I was avoiding flour as well and it's ruined that; tummy feels swollen already, and it's too cold and icy to take myself for a walk.

Movedalot Tue 11-Dec-12 17:46:03

crimson don't beat yourself up about it. It happens to us all sometimes and you will be good again tomorrow. You and the rest of us are human and sometimes don't meet the high standards we set ourselves. It is only one day so won't make a huge difference.

I hope the pie and cake were good! No point eating them if you didn't enjoy. flowers

crimson Tue 11-Dec-12 18:04:28

The cake is yummy. I think it's called a wellington. I ate loads of them last year but this year I've avoided the temptation. Why is it that, when you think you've finished for the day and then you have to start again only junk food will do?

GrannyK Wed 12-Dec-12 10:23:49

Despondent sad

Went to help a friend out at the weekend and it was sandwiches for three days or starve.
You might think that rushing around chaperoning 150 teenagers would be enough exercise to balance out the calorie intake, but apparently not .
Have now been doing the yo yo thing for past 4 weeks and am up the two pounds again.

Hey ho . Care and caution this week and it might be down again for Christmas . Fingers crossed . I do at least enter it all on mfp as far as possible so am not totally spiralling out of control

Well done everyone . Keep it up this week
and flowers to your Mum,glass

Sbagran Wed 12-Dec-12 14:41:49

glassortwo Wed 12-Dec-12 20:03:35

Sorry I am late everyone, my Mum is improving by the day I think you can rest better in your own bed, just have to wait until the new year for her camera then we will know better.
sad I have put on 1/2lb so thats my target for 1 1/2 stone out of the window as I cant see I will loose 5lb in two weigh ins, never mind my orginal target was a stone ....dont be greedy wink

WhenIwas its difficult when you have alot going on familiy wise I know, but well done.
jodi I hate that shuffle when the scales cant make its mind up smile

grannyk it always amazes me when you do something like that how you dont loose weight, do you think its not eating enough of the things that move the weight and the bread lying heavy.
