On the last leg now, hope you have all been good.

Thank you notso for stepping in when I was tied up with my Mum, you are a star. smile

I have put on last weeks thread asking when you want last weigh in for Christmas, do you want 17th, or do the Sunday/Monday people want to register their last weigh in on the 24th, let me know what you think. Do you want to start again next year?

jeni, have a great time and never mind the calories! There's more to life, etc, and if you feel good because you're enjoying yourself they don't stick the same anyway grin

crimson, I'm not surprised you're hitting the chocolate. It does help (isn't there a chemical reason for that?) so can't you think of it as just comfort eating rather than a punishment? I do hope you get a happy conclusion to your problems [hug] flowers

glass, thank you for your support - you are good at encouragement! flowers to you too!

My son is going to put some feelers out tomorrow [I don't like using him as a go between but he seems happy to do so]. I might suggest that the children come to my house after Christmas for their presents and we can spend an afternoon with them here and have a mini christmas meal. And, I'm hoping to retire at the end of next year so the work thing will be out of the way as well. And then I can speak openly about what has been happening there wink. Thus far haven't eaten today [hurrah] so yesterdays calories are burning away [that is if hammering away at a keyboard uses up calories confused]!

Movedalot Sat 15-Dec-12 12:15:22

Oh Crimson I do feel for you. Please accept a really big hug.

I'm not sure it is the same but if I am alone in the evening and there is chocolate in the house I know I will eat it however big it is! Am I lonely or am I bored? I don't know but if it is there I will pig out!

Himself is out all day today and won't be back until late so I have wrapped all the Christmas chocs to avoid temptation.

I hope you will find something good to do at Christmas. Presumably you don't feel you can ask your daughter about it?

Thanks glass; had a good nights sleep [although, annoyingly fell asleep when the Rolling Stones programme was on, and I'd stayed up to watch it] and eating will be back to whatever is normal today. Does anyone else look on chocolate as some form of punishment ie I feel miserable therefore I shall eat chocolate to make myself really miserable' or is it just a crimson thing?

glassortwo Fri 14-Dec-12 21:19:12

crimson have a bath, relax and then an early night, tomorrows another day {{{hug}}}

crimson Fri 14-Dec-12 18:24:52

Had an awful day at work and about to have a showdown with someone I work with; it's making me feel sick. Got home and ate some oat cakes with a small piece of cheese [good] then ate a large oiece of cake and polished off a box of chocolates someone had just given me...not because I enjoyed the chocolate but because it would make me feel even more miserable, which it has. As there is no mention of an invite to my daughters for Christmas I'm sinking into a black hole and wondering what the hell I've done to warrant all this. Sorry for whinge sad. Will start healthy eating again tomorrow but going to go to bed early tonight and have a weep. On a scale of things that can go wrong my life is pretty cushy [and I know that] but, quite frankly I want this year gone.

Glass thanks once again for a lovely supportive mail to us all. I will be thinking about you mum and hoping for good news soon. flowers

How would everyone feel about starting completely afresh in 2013? I would prefer to forget 2012 and begin again.

Yesterday I had a girly day out and we ate far too much, shopped too much and ended up with an evening spa where we again ate too much and drank as well. I am sure I put on pounds! I can't see the next couple of weeks being very different and really don't want to think about my weight over the Christmas and new year period. Afther all as Noddy said IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

glassortwo Wed 12-Dec-12 20:03:35

Sorry I am late everyone, my Mum is improving by the day I think you can rest better in your own bed, just have to wait until the new year for her camera then we will know better.
sad I have put on 1/2lb so thats my target for 1 1/2 stone out of the window as I cant see I will loose 5lb in two weigh ins, never mind my orginal target was a stone ....dont be greedy wink

Despondent sad

Went to help a friend out at the weekend and it was sandwiches for three days or starve.
You might think that rushing around chaperoning 150 teenagers would be enough exercise to balance out the calorie intake, but apparently not .
Have now been doing the yo yo thing for past 4 weeks and am up the two pounds again.

Hey ho . Care and caution this week and it might be down again for Christmas . Fingers crossed . I do at least enter it all on mfp as far as possible so am not totally spiralling out of control

Well done everyone . Keep it up this week
and flowers to your Mum,glass

The cake is yummy. I think it's called a wellington. I ate loads of them last year but this year I've avoided the temptation. Why is it that, when you think you've finished for the day and then you have to start again only junk food will do?

Movedalot Tue 11-Dec-12 17:46:03

crimson don't beat yourself up about it. It happens to us all sometimes and you will be good again tomorrow. You and the rest of us are human and sometimes don't meet the high standards we set ourselves. It is only one day so won't make a huge difference.

I hope the pie and cake were good! No point eating them if you didn't enjoy. flowers

crimson Tue 11-Dec-12 17:27:55

I've been so good with my eating this past week or so but today got called in to do an extra session at work; if I'd gone home and sat down I wouldn't have got going again so I bought a pie thing and a huge cake from the local shop. I'm determined not to eat anything tonight to compensate for it but I was avoiding flour as well and it's ruined that; tummy feels swollen already, and it's too cold and icy to take myself for a walk.

Notsogrand Tue 11-Dec-12 07:43:07

flowers for your Mum glass
Yes please for keeping going in the New Year.
I've lost another 3lbs this week, so half a stone in a fortnight on this very low carb (Atkins) regime. I'm back now to the lowest weight I'd achieved, which was in June.
I don't know whether it's an eating plan that could (or should?) be sustained long term, but as a short term boost to get your system shifted, it's quite effective.
Well done and good luck to everyone this week! smile

Marelli Mon 10-Dec-12 17:15:54

I seem to have levelled off again after my greedy, bingey few days blush! So in the meantime I'll just watch what I'm doing and more than likely be joining you all again in the New Year. Everyone's doing so well, aren't they? smile

Sewsilver Mon 10-Dec-12 14:39:52

Glass I hope your Mum is ok. Yes please keep this thread going.
2.5 lb off this week , with DH in agony I can't eat. At this rate I'll be positively sylph like. Pity none of it is coming off my middle!

jeni Mon 10-Dec-12 12:28:05

I definitely need to start again next year! I have no doubt I will gain over my holiday and will need to diet ready for the next one.

Nonu Mon 10-Dec-12 12:01:00
